I'm still kind of shaking. We'd always planned on TWO kids (we even bought our 2 bed house because it was big enough for 4 of us) but here we are. We can't afford three in daycare so now we have some decisions to make.
#1 I've been suspecting for a while. Just a feeling I had that I thought was kind of crazy. But as soon as she turned that machine on I saw two sacs. She wasn't allowed to confirm but gave me a wink and a nod and called in my LNP and another US tech and they took some detailed measurements and confirmed. I asked them 3x to confirm it was only two and not three.
They are Di-Di and growth is a few days ahead. They are perfect and gorgeous and bouncing around like crazy.
The technicians gave me a guess on sex based on nubs and said 70% chance they are both boys.
I'm grateful. Terrified! But grateful.

Congrats on the twins! I've heard a lot of people say they just *knew.*
But... I'm going to be a voice of reason/Debbie Downer here and say that it is way too early for sex identification on ultrasound, if the 11w1d dating I see on the picture is accurate. There are anecdotal stories, of course, but 50% of the time a guess will be right anyway. So there's that.
sophiegrace I'm so happy your appt went well today.
Thank you! We even got 3D pictures which are kind of blowing my mind. Babe was a blob four weeks ago and now has the cutest little feet and actual facial features. All this exhaustion and sickness make sense for all the work that's going on in my body right now!

Oh I know it's early, very early, for guessing sex. We're not painting the nursery, so to speak. lol Just a fun note that came out of the appt.
Gotcha.
I am actually surprised to hear how often techs guess that early, given the unreliability of the guess. I wonder if they just do it for fun? The ones I've had won't even attempt, and that's cool by me.
ashleysyn I'm curious how ppl don't know about twins until 2nd tri...did you not have an ultrasound until 20 weeks or did they "miss" the other baby with the first one?
Where I live people generally only have the anatomy scan. I only had an early one because I am high risk.
Yep, this is it. This is the first pregnancy that I've had an ultrasound before 20 weeks and it was only because we did IVF.
