I am in bed and off mom duty for the morning. I told H I needed a morning off. I don't even want to sleep in I just don't want to be the parent on duty.
I am having Saturday morning cartoons do the parenting right now. It's lovely.
We had DD's 15 month appointment yesterday and they asked about TV watching. I said she does but not a ton. Pedi said good because it's really not recommended at all before 2. Mr I get it but survival mode.

Ugh, I have never been asked this yet. But I'll be sure to prepare a nice lie for our 2 year check up.
It's one thing if they are watching tv all day. It's another to get some time to prepare dinner, get chores done or gather your head.
I am working on our announcement video (slide show). I was so jaded when we announced my son's pregnancy. We have been through a lot and I want to do something special this time. It's going to be short, but I am having fun with it.
Yeah I actually really like our pediatrician. He checks up on a lot of stuff but I never feel guilty about it. He mentions it and suggests limiting as we can but he is pretty realistic. I made him sound worse than he is in my original post
So my cat, Pete, brought a dead mouse to the back door the other day, in the 12 years that I've had him this has never happened. So now I have to get something to keep him away from that area of the yard cause I have no intention of trapping/killing the mice.
Why can't we just all live peacefully in the backyard together!! Stupid cat.

Good morning all! Regarding TV before age 2, there's the ideal and then there real life. I think as long as your toddler isn't spending hours every day in front of the TV it's fine. I also try to make a point of watching TV "with" (or at least near lol) my kid. I'm sure this will change as he gets older. Some of the research points to to the lack of parental interaction (i.e. Talking to your kid) as one of the big issues with TV. We talk to them less, they hear less words, they are less verbal. Way oversimplified but it's along those lines. So watch with and talk to your kid abut what they are watching/seeing and I think most Peds will have no problem with that.
peanutmuse - I love the idea of a video/slideshow. Is it pictures/videos?
shedreamsincolor that's kind of my philosophy and a lot of what I have seen as far as studies go and actually all the interactive toys provide the same problem. Meh child is quite verbal she doesn't watch a ton of TV and seriously right now I am just trying to keep her alive during the first tri lol. I figure first tri and 4th tri are entirely about survival
We are going house hunting again today. I have a good feeling about what we are going to see and I think we'll have some options! I'm really hoping this is our last house hunting day. I'm over it.
L watches some TV. She's right on time verbally, ahead in most areas. Her dr has never asked about it and always says she's doing awesome. So I'm not concerned about her watching sometimes. I always watch it with her and we talk and play the whole time.
I haven't been around much this week. Busy and tired. I had an u/s on Tuesday. Subchorionic hemorrhage is gone but now placenta previa so pelvic rest continues. I'm ready for 2nd tri.. hopefully will bring some energy.
ILs are mad at us for not going to a Cinco de Mayo thing at the park today in the middle of DD'S nap time at the hottest part of the day. Sorry not sorry.

We receive this type of gift weekly from one of our cats. So sweet and thoughtful of him.
Re: TV. We have it on a couple of hours a day. I would feel bad about it but she only ever looks at it when music comes on. She couldn't care less about it otherwise and mostly just plays. The only thing she's ever shown interest in aside from music is Chris Hardwick on Talking Dead. She would play/nurse/nap while TWD and then turn around immediately when she hears his voice, smiling and giggling. As soon as his opening monologue is over, she doesn't care to watch anymore lol
Well it's already 5:30 here so no longer morning and boy did this one fly by. We had to be at our house for 7 to let the flooring contractor in for some sanding, then went to a tile place to buy thinset.. I did manage to get our supplies for our announcement, we'll be heading out shortly to take the photos. Again we're my posting until Monday after the scan but it's supposed to be crappy weather here the next couple days. Hopefully I can convince H to go out to dinner after!!

Haven't read the rest of the thread, but wanted to stop in and say hey! Had so much energy today and finally did some good deep cleaning. What is that? Second tri calling my name? I'll take it!!
On that note, when do y'all count second tri as starting? Do you like the 12 week mark or the more exact 13 and change one?
sophiegrace I always thought 2nd tri started with the 14th week.
Aaand that sounds more familiar! I know if you break it down exactly into threes each trimester is 13+3/13+4, but I'd rather get myself to 14 weeks mentally. Thanks!
Yesterday got away from me and I never stopped in to say hi. I was able to make a small dent in packing. I'm hoping I still have some energy to continue today. I'm enjoying my one cup of coffee and working on my grocery list. I love lazy Sunday mornings. I hope everyone has a great day.
It went well. We had a hard time picking which house to put an offer on, actually. But we ended up going with location, price, and space over beauty. Makes sense when you look at it that way, but it really was a tough choice. I'm sure my realtor was not excited about us changing from one house to another. But you know, we gotta do what makes sense to us. It's a house owned by my husband's assistant principal (he's a math teacher) so we hope that helps us get it.

Good luck! Buying a house is a huge decision. You have every right to take your time/change your mind.
Morning all. DH and B are headed back from my ILs', they're due in around 4. It has been a very quiet weekend but I've gotten a lot accomplished around the house. Today I'm painting trim in B's bathroom. Like sophiegrace said, maybe this is my slightly early welcome to 2nd trimester?
(on that note, I always just think of it in 13 week increments.)

So glad you got the offer in ClassyMrsA! Before we bought our first house we looked at 52 other ones. It started of so exciting, but I was DONE by the time we finally found one that hit off all of our checklist. Best part...we only lived there for 14 months before we put in the offer for the house we are currently in. I'm never ever moving agin. Ever. I'm glad you got the one that makes sense for you, beauty can definitely be fixed, but size and location cannot.
