hangry, gorgeous! buckyb, glad you are feeling better today. Hope you enjoyed your breakfast!
I can't even believe tomorrow is Monday again. I ended up working both days this weekend and I'm just totally exhausted. This week is going to completely suck.

sophiegrace I'd def consider some sort of stroller to use during the winter - wouldn't have to be one that you can click into, some can be used for infants immediately. Or just get a snap and go and then switch completely to preferred stroller without getting the attachment for a carseat.
I had the exact same maternity leave last time and I tried to go out for a short walk most days if it was above 40 for my sanity. I liked using the carseat bc I had a winter cover (bundle me) on it that was really warm.
This is a really good point. We are in CT so def some winter weather from about November to March.
I think about it far too frequently. It's such a big investment and I don't want to mess it up.
I live in NH and I hadn't thought of that. I'm thinking similarly with only concerning ourselves with everything we'll need for the first month figuring that we'll be getting a lot at Christmas time. My birthday is 12 days after Christmas, and my friends have all warned that my birthday presents may also be baby related. We don't want a baby shower, it's just logistically complicated.
sophiegrace In terms of your question regarding the early months and cold weather, do you really need a stroller for the car seat: IMO - YES. My guy would fall asleep in the car all the time. We used it for the grocery store, to go walk around the mall or target, and also for walks on any somewhat nicer days. And I live in canada. Even a short walk in the winter can calm your baby, can save your sanity, or give you some exercise.

All of this. L fell asleep in her carseat ALL the time so it was fantastic being able to just snap it right onto the stroller. I also agree that you'll want to get out and walk even when it's cold or wet. We walked around Target so many times that first winter. Also, for me, I still used the carseat/stroller combo until we switched to the convertible carseat right after her 1st bday. If she fell asleep during errands I didn't have to wake her up. Granted, L was like 16.5 lbs when she turned 1 which is insanely small so I never had the too heavy carseat problem.

tallblonde, hangry, and ClassyMrsA thanks for throwing out those scenarios. It really makes so much sense. I'm really really really hoping I have a baby who likes the car seat.
I don't want a baby shower either cheshie6, and logistics definitely has a lot to do with it.
dashook good luck getting through this week! Hopefully there's some time for naps.

sophiegrace but carriers work great too! So you could wait and see if you need one, or buy close to due date and return if you don't use. I will admit that since my son had a flat head and had a helmet, so I'm going to be keeping this baby out of the carseat as much as possible.

Yes, this too. I used my carrier all the time too. I know some people "aren't baby wearing types", but I think it really opens up a lot if possibilities. I still used a carseat stroller for when he fell asleep because my guy wouldn't stay asleep when I tried to transfer him.

I'm really hoping to master baby wearing as well! I already have an unopened ergo and k'tan so hopefully those will be a good start and as I learn more (and if baby likes it) we'll go from there.
