Still waiting,to hear back from MIL to see if she can babysit. Gifts? Not sure. I made an awesome man-bouquet for DH last year with dress socks and scotch as the "flowers" which I attached to wooden stems. DS made DH a valentine at mommy&me group. I may get some craft supplies to do one with DD at home. I'll make a card too.

My mother and bestie are coming over and have demanded that we go out for Valentine's Day lol. So I guess we will be finding somewhere to go for dinner since we hadn't planned on doing anything. I'm thinking the local wine bar because the food is delicious.
I asked my husband yesterday if he knew what next Saturday was. He pulled up the calendar on his phone, looked at me confused and sad no. I saud, b you don't know what the 14th of February is?" "Ahh no." So I tell him and he asks if we are doing anything... That conversation went just as I has imqgined
heidih21, I asked DH if he wanted to do anything for Valentine's Day, and he asked, "What day is that this year?" I'm not sure if he was asking as a joke, but sometimes he gets confused about what holidays change dates each year (Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, etc.) and which ones are always on the same date.
maebb, sometimes I think I should take his phone and put all the holidays and special occasions on his calender so I won't have to remind him every time!
We don't really do Valentine's day and since C and I really don't leave the house, certainly nothing this year. The last couple of year's I have started the tradition of a gift for my dd, then we order a heart shaped pizza and make Valentine'e cookies together so we will do that for sure. Not sure if I will get a gift for this lo this year, he really doesn't need anything, maybe the new bottles that we planned to buy
I don't want/need anything from H. I just ordered myself some new earbuds (thanks yamrwhite for the suggestion).
I will make a craft for H from the kids so he can bring it to work. It will be LOVE with the O being C's handprint and the V being Rory's feet.
Just seeing my tag. You're welcome!! I really hope they work well for you like they do for me!
My V-day plans are heart shaped pancakes for breakfast, and after Steph goes to bed, my husband and I will do a dinner with some beer/wine and watch a movie.

MIL can babysit, which is awesome, and I want to be couple-y and go out for a romantic dinner, but I'm just so tired by 5pm...maybe if I can catch a nap that afternoon I can make it without falling asleep after the appetizers...
Today dh and I sent Valentines from both kids to our friends'kids. Something we started with ds 1. Nearly forgot till I saw people were crafting for Valentines. These were the store bought kiddy ones. Ds had fun playing with the Valentines but we wrote them out :-) I told dh this was practice for when we do the birth announcement...although I preprinted the envelopes the day before I went into labor, that must have been my version of nesting...lol!
SIL and her hubby are visiting us this weekend and have offered to babysit so we can have our first alone date in quite a while. Seriously thinking of taking her up on the offer.

DH already bought me a dozen roses and made breakfast this morning. Then he proceeds to go run errands and backs into the cleaning lady's car. So his big gift to me this year is a new bumper. We don't do Valentine's gifts. I haven't even gotten him a card this year. BUT, we did bring the kiddos to a hotel and had a really good time tonight swimming! So a day of highs and lows and we won't so anything on Valentine's because neither of us can stand the crowds.
I have 4 little bears, just like my name says. 2 girls 2 boys ages 8,5,3, and my newest babe. 2 of my little bears have life threatening food allergies, feel free to ask me more about that!
