renbee I had my PP appointment and my MW said that the IUD can cause cysts to get worse, so she doesn't recommend them for PCOS. She mentioned a BC pill that works well but referred me to one of the MD's who can better help manage my PCOS. I'll see her at the end of the month. In the meantime, progesterone only pill for me!
My OBGYN and I were specifically discussing my PCOS and she never said anything about cysts with IUDs. I have been researching and seen many other people who say the same thing about not recommending it for women with PCOS, so I'm kinda like WTF? Let me know what the MD recommends for you!

Will do. My MW was sorta pushing the IUD but I specifically brought up my PCOS and how I had read it could make it worse and she was like yeah it might make it worse maybe we better not. I was like WTF too, you'd think as medical professionals they'd want to make sure they weren't making pre-existing conditions worse! I was at least glad that she realized this was out of her wheel house and referred me to someone who could help more. She did specifically mention a study she was reading about the effectiveness of metformin and BC pills for PCOS. I'm going to do some more research on this before I meet with the MD.

I took metformin while TTC and it really helped regulate my cycles. I do not really want to go back on it though because it causes some gastrointestinal issues. My PCOS symptoms were the lowest when taking Ocella birth control pill - I think it was the generic for Yasmin. I almost want to cut breastfeeding short to go back on it, especially since my supply isn't great anyway.
It took 9 months for it to not hurt anymore last time. It wasn't painful the entire time, just at first at that point. I tore pretty badly though. ..but I will say that's it's true having a baby makes sex feel better!
Noooooo!!! DH and I attempted for the first time Wednesday night and it hurt SO freaking bad. Way worse than losing my virginity. I had a 2nd degree tear so it's just not stretchy in that part anymore. All the lube in the world can't help make that feel better. I told him that we will just have to admit to ourselves that for a while, it won't really be "sex," more so stretching that skin back out again so it isn't so stiff. But if it's going to take 9 months, I'd rather just never have sex again.
I only had a 1st degree tear with #1 and it took at least 6 months for sex to feel decent again. I had some scar tissue that would catch. H said he could feel it. Ew! It was better after #2 and we've only done it 3 times after #3 and it's been getting better and better. It's H's birthday and his one wish is sex, so we'll be doing it later. Hopefully it's not awful for me!
lovemyk, I think it's normal for the first few months as your body gets used to it. I was on the pill for about 8 years and I suddenly started having breakthrough bleeding. Doc did an ultrasound to make sure everything was ok and then switched my pill. That did the trick.
