I think I'm maybe a weird over sharer then because I don't care if people ask me about my cervix. In fact, I plan on sending a group text to my mom and sister to let them know the status of my cervix once I find out.
No one has inquired after my cervix. I am horrified. People are asking you this?
+1 on no one needing to know I'm in labor.
Yes! I have had people ask if I am dilated at all. Granted it's family, but not close family!
My entire work place is female.... my entire board of directors is female... my entire volunteer base who I see regularly is female. They all want to know.... it's really mindboggling. It was fun to watch my boss tap dance around trying to ask me. And I want to talk about it so little that I can't even tell them "I'm not having it checked".
One coworker today told me about all the times she was checked and what her measurements were.
Pregnancy, childbirth and parenting are all instances where people ask you questions just so they can have an inlet to talk about themselves, I swear.
Sorry for the invasive questions you all are getting! My MIL was obsessed with my cervix... She started asking at like 30 weeks if I was dilated :/ I didn't mind telling my mom and sister but it felt really weird talking about it with her.

babyzebra im sorry about your morning! The past 2 days I have been super nauseous and dizzy. Of course I googled it and it can be normal. Ugh it's the worst though!
manybellsdown My ILs are on vacation right now and told me I can't have baby till they get back. I have been secretly hoping baby would come before they get back just so I don't have to deal with them in the hospital. Maybe this should have been my FFFC, but seriously it's not up to me when baby comes!
My MIL asked my H this. No woman you are not getting updates about my cervix. Ever. I will tell you when the baby is out.
Although equally annoying are the people telling me I *can't* go into labor yet or until x. I'm over 37 weeks this baby can come out whenever s/he wants. And let me please stuff a bowling ball down your throat.
I also find I'm irritated by this conversation:
Other person: When is your due date? Me: June 12 Other Person: Oh, my birthday/son's/daughter's/husband's/dog's birthday is ANY DATE BETWEEN JUNE 1 AND 30... So you could have him that day. That would be nice.
Just, shut up.
I hate the birthday comments. Maybe I'm mean, but I don't care if my son is born on the same day as your nephew.

haha, I get it. I'm torn. The confession side of me also won't mind if he comes during vacation... My more realistic side realizes I would prefer they be here to watch DD and our dog.

I'm loling at the same-birthday-comment hate. Perhaps it's because I haven't gotten it at all.
I wouldn't mind sharing the status of my cervix, but I would definitely mind being asked. You just don't ask people about their sex organs, you just don't.

ArgyleEnigma, i had to switch to "sugar boogers" in my house because every time I would say "shit" my daughter would go, "What shit mommy?" DH is fully to blame that DD dropped the F bomb in proper context at the age of 3 though.

A few of my close friends have been my cervix cheerleaders ever since all the PTL stuff went down. It's hilarious. Whenever I tell them I had a good appt, they text me back, yay cervix!! Maybe we just have a weird relationship.

TGIF everyone! Better yet, a long weekend!
I had a regular OB appointment today. Had the GBS swab done. My OB offered to check my cervix. I inquired if it could potentially trigger things. She said yes. I declined. I am not ready for this baby. I need every bit of the remaining three weeks to my due date to prepare.
Oh no, babyzebra! So sorry about the motion sickness and barfing patient. Ugh, vomit is still one of my worst fears. I know having kids will make me face that fear, but I'm just not ready.
Oooh! Are you a fellow emetophobe? I am violently terrified of vomiting, I haven't since I was 9 years old. I'm crossing all my fingers that I get through this pregnancy without throwing up.
You guys we got to go home! Completely unexpected with everything we have gone through. But with a 35 weeker we had to make a lot of promises and follow up appointments. But we have escaped!
Got GBS swab today and the OB offered to check my cervix. I said yes because I'm curious. It wasn't comfortable, but not too painful. 1 centimeter, 30% thinned, still waaay up there. I was surprised there was any progress at all. I know it can stay that way for ages, but it is still fun to know something is happening.
bighair12 that is awesome! Congrats on being home! That must feel amazing.

I didn't know the technical term for it, but yes! I'm the same way. Haven't thrown up since I was 5 or 6. I came close after a night of screwdrivers in college, but no cigar. And so far I've lucked out with pregnancy, too.
I just lost my mucus plug and I've been frantically cleaning all day today. Now I'm in overdrive cause I'm nervous I'm going to go into labor and I'm done cleaning the house. Someone smack me and tell me to slow down.

I actually want my kid NOT to be born on anyone's birthday. Poor DD1 went ahead and came on her cousin's birthday anyways.

I have not vomited since I was in grade school either!!! This pregnancy was probably the closest I have come! Knock on wood!

The farm that we are in the CSA with sent us a special invite for strawberry picking today. It's hot as balls out but I thought "why not?!" We were the only ones who went and this is going to be amazing on top of my ice cream tonight!

Oh me too! I just hate when random people tell me so and so they know is born on this day. Ok, I don't know that person, why do I care when their birthday is?
