I'm glad your SIL is able to stay with the baby obie1680. How long do they think the baby might be there?
They haven't given them a specific time line. They are removing the tube in his chest today if he responds well I think it would only be a few days more. Last time they took the tube out he didn't respond well and ended up having it put back. So FX that he is healed up more this time so he can stay off it. They did an ultrasound on his chest yesterday and he still had a hole in his lung & still had some fluid, they are doing another ultrasound at 1.

andtheheartbreakers im glad you ended up having a good day yesterday after all @pambeesleyhalpert huge hugs, sending peaceful thoughts your way
Today we are throwing A his 3rd birthday party since his actual birthday is the same week we are moving. I have so many feels, this is the last time he will see some of these friends But on the plus side the forecast for rain magically went away, and he is going to lose his shit when he sees the bouncy house. I have no time in between the moving stuff to plan a party the way I normally would, so I'm taking the easy route. Dumping bags of chips in bowls, and getting a bouncy to keep them entertained
A is transitioning to 2 naps from 3, I think. Right now I'm looking at crib rail cover options, because she is gumming them hard and those teeth will show up sooner than later. I should be sorting the disaster that's our laundry room, but I don't want to make too much noise.
H is sick enough that he canceled going to the cabin today. But now he's moaning about it and suggesting we do. Sigh. I reminded him that he'll have nasty allergies on top of being sick and we can go next weekend. I plan to take A shopping for more safety crap once she wakes up, so hopefully he can rest. He's supposedly napping right now, but I bet he's on his phone.
MH is awesome. The last two mornings he has gotten up with F at 4 and 5am and let me sleep in until 8. I forgot how happy and pleasant I am when I get enough sleep. Yesterday was AWFUL dealing with the croup. He was strapped to me the whole day and he was so miserable. It was like cough, cry, sneeze, wipe boogers on me, repeat. Today is looking much better so far and that's all I could ask for.

Back from Geneva and getting caught up here.
obie1680, I teared up reading your earlier post. You are such a good SIL, both mom and baby are lucky to have you. Hope that little one is healthy enough to break out soon!
I almost spit wine all over my computer. You've been warned.
Oh the humanity. I stopped reading after she talked about it bouncing.
Can someone explain the appeal of these contraptions? Probably an unfair generalization, but how special of a snowflake does your vag need to be to not use tampons or pads? Is it just the environmentally friendly argument?

It is environmentally friendly. Some women (apparently?) have issues with tampons but don't want to wear pads. Also you can leave it in for much longer than a tampon (10-12hrs) so it has the possibility of being more convenient.
I'd never heard of soft cup so I went to their website and they claim you can have sex while it's in. I feel like that can't possible work?!
So yes, you can because of the way soft cuo is shaped. The center is like a film of plastic and only the ring is semi rigid. MH said it was like when I used the nuva ring. He noticed it but it wasn't awful enough to not have sex with me.

ntaylor989, I just mentioned this to H because he asked why I was laughing at my computer. The idea of not having to skip sex is too much for him, he's ditched his homework and is now researching the soft cup. Oy!

So I stalked J17, you know, to see what kind of crowd sandj918 is getting herself into, and I got super offended by the "PgAL and other irrational fears" thread. WTF?
Luckily after a quick skim is seems like all the posts are from actual PgALers which makes me feel a bit better.
sandj918 How did telling your family about the pregnancy go?
It went well. Thanks for asking. They were all really surprised and excited. I'm still nervous about our ultrasound on Tuesday but I figured we'd tell them about a loss anyways.
I could never use a cup, but it does seem like tampons aren't working as well for me these days. It has nothing to do them being too small..it's like somehow I still leak but the tampon isn't full. I'm so confused.
So I'm doing NFP, but I'm not temping due to wake ups. At the earliest, I've ovulated at cd 12 and at the latest cd15 (verified prior by temping and verified now by CM- I know, not as reliable) so I'm pretty regular. Is anyone else doing laid back NFP? I'm avoiding cd7-cd19. It's CD6 and we just had sex so now I'm double guessing my plan.
So we saw SIL today, we had the kids so no going into the NICU. We got good news though! The hole in his lung is closed! So they are removing the tube tomorrow morning & SIL got to feed him a bottle of BM instead of having his feeding tube do it. I got to watch it on my phone I was so excited for her! She is hopeful to try to nurse him tomorrow too!
I need to buy more bathing suits because Dani is in love with swimming. And not like the, put her in a baby pool and let her splash kind of swimming. The, I need to be in the water pulling her around in an actual swimming position (not in a float) so she can kick her feet behind her kind of swimming. High maintenance, party of one.

Hahaha A is the same way. She also constantly tries to drink the water. Barf.
txshep, loving the pics of Dani on FB. You and I have the same swimsuit
My family came over today for a cookout. Jacob was pretty cranky since he refused his 3rd nap, but we dealt with it. When I took him inside to change, my Mom commented to DH that I baby him too much He still has stranger anxiety with my family. He cries if they hold him and he isn't used to them yet, so I sit near him so he'll be comfortable.
Is there a different way I should help Jacob with his stranger anxiety? Or is my Mom being a dick?
I'm completely exhausted, but SIL shower was a lot of fun. A skilled his morning nap but was nice and smiley, took a 2 hours nap in his PNP and chilled all afternoon. He fell asleep the minute I put him in his crib.
Speaking of SIL and soft cups, the first time she tried it, she was working in the hospital in her white scrubs when the cup somehow turned. You can imagine the rest!

How often does he see your family? Even though Freya sees my mom weekly she still cries initially. I just hand her off and walk away. Ha. She calms down really fast if I'm out of sight for a little bit. Then when I come back she's fine. If I stay in the room she's extra whiny. Have you ever just left him for a few minutes to see if he calms down with them?
Edit: just want to clarify I don't think you're "babying" him by staying close & it sucks your mom said that. Just trying to give you another idea. Some kids are and will always be more shy than others. Freya is not one of those kids, she just has an initial reaction and once she's forced through it she's absolutely fine. But she's always been little miss independent.

Kinda. I'm definitely going by my cm, but I was always very consistent with my cycles and that has definitely returned. Like you, I'll avoid cd 6-19 even though I'm pretty sure I'm still ovulating around cd 9/10.
But also we don't really have sex, so that's really my bc.
