I am hosting a play date and waaaay over thinking it. It's like 3 moms and I play on serving iced tea (boozy and non), lemonade, nachos with layer dip, homemade brownies, homemade ice cream, and a veggie tray.
Hi my name is London and I'm a hostaholic.
I do this for every play date that's at my house. I'm nuts, too!
Got in to work this morning and my workload is already a few days behind. Thanks to our office catching on fire AND getting hit by a tornado, our systems were down from Thursday night until sometime yesterday. It gave us a glorious 4 day weekend, but my desk is out of control now. At least our summer Friday's start and I get to leave at noon this week.
I'm beginning to think Texas may not be as good as you say it is
...but we have great BBQ, margaritas, and Mexican food.

It's my worst night mare. C slept like shit (what's new) and coffee makes me vomit. Someone save me! I've got my ultrasound this afternoon at 2. I'm struggling with feeling really guilty about not being able to EBF C anymore. My milk supply has dipped so much that I have to supplement with formula frequently. I know it shouldn't bother me. I have nothing against formula. But, with DD1 I had such a hard time BF and ultimately had to stop at 6 months. I was so excited that BF went so well this time and really looked forward to nursing for at least a year. I'm having a really hard time letting it go.
Hugs. Emotions around BFing are complicated and hard. So is lack of sleep. And I can't even FATHOM dealing with 1st tri exhaustion and nausea right now.
charliefox , your reports make me want to read Bringing Up Bebe. You know, in all my free time. Now I want to Google image search French moms, but I have a feeling there will be some dubious hits.

Wow, can I come?! Nothing wrong with being a hostaholic!
southernpeach89, We keep hearing "mama" from Mila also, although, I wonder if it's just babble or if she is actually trying to say it. When we say it back to her she responds with "mamamama" so who knows? It's still super cute and exciting to hear!
caitost21, I hope Mr P is okay. That sucks your MIL said you didn't have time for urgent care, that wouldn't have sat well with me.
charliefox, Loving your vacation updates! Ugh, the thought of wearing all of those layers on top of leather sounds awful.
Afm, I managed to staple my thumb this morning so that sucks. Also, we have a major spider infestation (outside) which is stressing me the eff out. Apparently, they are brown widows and MW found 15 of them outside underneath the doors leading out to our backyard. Calling Terminix to get it taken care of but still, I was just out there, barefoot, cleaning up around the pool!
I don't know how I could forget this part! M started doing a very deliberate army crawl yesterday and is using her little knees more and more. This along with getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth makes me feel like she will be 100% mobile by the weekend!

Bugs are the worst. We had bad ants (INSIDE) over the last couple weeks. They seem to be under control now. But what remains out of control is DH chanting "Kill the Queen! KILL THE COLONY!" which is the slogan on the side of the pesticide.

So sorry that you have to burn your house down!
Ha! If it wasn't a rental a blow torch definitely would have been my method of extermination.

sdfonz619, Nooo!!!! That's awful! I hope they can get cleared away fast! I HATE Spiders! Yea that's what I thought too about Callie saying "mama" but she just started directing it at me when she see's me so I figured maybe she is starting to understand that I'm "mama" haha. She says Dada too but I think it's just a sound she is making and doesn't realize yet who is actually "dada"

Eloise went from the army crawl to full crawl within two days. It's crazy how fast they figure things out!

Oh, wow! Then she probably IS saying "mama"!! Especially since she says it when she sees you. That is SO cool!

Hey ladies- I hope everyone had a good weekend! It's been tough here as usual. Yesterday we had a bbq- and a lot more family showed up so this place was crazy. Of course H napped like crap. Then, right at dinner, J spiked a fever. I took him upstairs and then he freaked out. Was crying so hard that his head hurt, and then the crying made his nose stuffy so he couldn't breathe. Between that and the high (103) fever, I think he had an anxiety attack. Coupled with the fact that DH worked all.weekend. He was just so miserable. When the Motrin started working and he started dozing, he started mumbling nonsense. I was just about ready to head to the ER when he suddenly went to sleep and his body temp started declining. DH got home at midnight, so I had to wakeup and take the baby into my nieces room to sleep on the lower bunk so DH could stay in our bed with J. Then DH woke me at 5 so he could head up to Santa Monica for his presentation and I went to sleep for an hour before both boys woke up. J is marginally better this morning, has an appetite but still running a low grade fever. I'm so tired and so tired of doing this all on my own. The whole point of this move was to see DH more, not less, and I literally haven't seen him for more than ten minutes since Friday.
Oh, and to top it off, DHs old work is such a shit show that he got an automatic deposit for a months salary that he want there. Then a reversal for a month and a half? So I have been dealing with that all morning. It's worked out but caused a lot of problems. Thankfully my bank is working with me and helping me with the overdraft issues it caused.
sandj918, you're a superhero for dealing with first tri and an infant. You deserve a cape.
jessiespano, I almost tagged your old s/n. I hope J feels better. Will your H be working less, soon? I'm glad your bank is working with you. Overdraft fees are the worst.
I listened to the audio version of Bringing up Bebe while I was pregnant. It was a nice easy "read"
K lost his shit last night. I ignored the advice to only sleep train night before naps. And he was exhausted. He used to be such a good sleeper- we would lay him down and he would go right to sleep. But now he can roll off the bed so he can't sleep there anymore. He doesn't like the crib (he's not used to it) plus all these new skills he's practicing. Sleep time is a nightmare.

I have Bringing Up Bebe on my kindle, I thought I'd read it while Cal played in the grass at the park.
...yeah, right. It's been raining all but like 2 days so far and I have zero time to read. Maybe on the plane home while my baby takes amazingly long naps? Seems legit.
On the French parent note I was so excited to see all the fancy stroller but I haven't seen a one. Most people have ugly behemoth strollers make by chicco or some brand I've never heard of. In Geneva every single stroller I saw was a bugaboo $$$.
My SIL insisted on buying a bugaboo after their Amsterdam trip last fall.

So lately Val has been doing an epic morning nap right under 3 hours. I thought she was just going through a phase but seems to consistant now. I need to start planning better so I can shit done while she sleeps. Mostly showering & activities with ds.
I am so tired this last week or so. Today is day #2 that I've napped on the couch during Isla's morning nap, while DD1 plays on her iPad next to me. I feel like a zombie most of the day and all I think about is when I can sleep.
