charliefox, she has new skills every damn day it seems. Great.
So, I'm getting really annoyed with my ILs. My SIL is bumping out now (so cute) and she's even more petite than I am. This weekend, my MIL was grilling me on whether SIL was too big or too small right now. I said you can't compare bumps, because women all carry differently. She's tiny but has a long torso and wider, so I'm sure she'll carry differently than me (I have a short, wide torso for my height). "Only her OB can tell you if she's on track or not, but she looks fine to me," I said. Then MIL proceeded to talk about how SIL's SIL (due in July) is HUGE (uh, saw the FB photos, she is not. She's thin with a perfect, not huge bump, like a movie actress). I told her I hope she doesn't make any of these comments in front of her daughter (or any other pregnant or recently pregnant woman), because it just causes anxiety and stress.
Seriously, WTF? A couple years ago, I'd come in on H and MIL discussing SIL's weight, as in, wasn't she getting chunky? I thought this was insane, because they always make comments about how small I am, but she is definitely smaller than me. She'd even recently given me a bag of clothes that didn't fit anymore - and every single thing was a couple sizes too small (I tried to tell her as much, but she wouldn't take no for an answer). I understand SIL having body image issues, because don't we all? But her mother and brother are also under some crazy illusion. It's just so confusing and frustrating.
