Arthur started to have these big eczema spots on his body but only where I put sunscreen/where it was exposed to the sun
I've switched his lotion for an eczema one. We only do soap even other day. What else should we do? We have our 9 months appointment in 2 weeks and I'll talk to his pedi.
His sunscreen is Aveeno and we use their other products without problem. Maybe I should try another brand?
I'm certainly not a doctor but I would be surprised if sunscreen was causing eczema. As a kid, my eczema was brought on by sweat and appeared a lot in folds like elbows, knees, and armpits. Is it possible that he's sweating in the areas getting rashy?

That's what I would have thought, but his worst spots are on his upper arms and shins

Try switching sunscreens? There are some sunscreens that react with the sin and cause rashes in some people (I am one of those people). Try a PABA free sunscreen I'd you aren't already.
We use the aveeno eczema lotion as well as the body wash . But her's is pretty bad , our pedi prescribed a hydrocortisone cream and an aquaphor cream to mix together !
You can also try OTC hydrocortisone cream if you think it's getting worse !

This. Nolan's is pretty bad too. We also use a product called creamy Vaseline. Super greasy but helps.
FWIW our doc said with infants and babies the eczema spots aren't always the typical ones you see on older kids. (N's are his cheeks, torso and upper arms)
I second aquaphor for the eczema spots. It's the only thing that has helped the one patch Z has. I also lie the aveeno eczema lotion as well for all over.
I do like pp's suggestion of trying the sunscreen on him when he isn't in the sun to make sure it's not related to sun exposure and just from the sunscreen.
