M is the exact opposite where she loves purees and is sort of meh on solids. Being that I love to cook, making different concoctions is so. much. fun. We mix up what she has day to day and depending on the meal.

We give her bits of whatever we are eating at any given meal, so she's actually tried a lot of flavors. Last night she had pasta, ground turkey, tomato sauce and broccoli. I'm loving this stage and soaking it in until she becomes a toddler and will only eat 2 things, which vary every day.

Asher still eats purées and it's easier when we're out and about to just defrost one and shove it in a pouch and go or when we're sending things to daycare). Purées I consistently make and combine as we see fit:
Chicken, steak, peas, zucchini, green beans, carrots, acorn & butternut squash, sweet potato, pears, applesauce, mango, blueberry, spinach, prunes, and probably some others I'm forgetting. (Plus mashed avocado and banana - his favorites.)

But he also basically eats what we're eating and/or have on hand. I've been sending sliced cucumbers and chopped melon, grapes, or oranges to daycare. He'll eat shredded meats of all sorts, pasta, cheese, yogurt, grains, beans, veggies, pancakes, fruit, you name it.

For the most part, we don't go out of our way, but just provide him with small pieces of what we're eating.

ETA: He loves spoons of peanut butter but is kinda like warm about eggs. He has to be in the mood for them, just like his mama.

I think what has surprised me the most lately is how much he likes strong flavors. He LOVES when I add cinnamon to yogurt, applesauce, etc. Kid isn't afraid of garlic, onions, Rosemary, mint, lemon, curry, lime, and whatever general spiciness they have in the taco seasoning packets for ground beef.

C still doesn't like food much. She'll entertain some purees, but only a small bite or two. We tried BLW but she had a gagging/choking episode where she started to turn red and scared the crap out of me. So we're backing off BLW for awhile until she seems to understand chewing motion a little better. As for purees, she will eat banana, squash, pears, apples, green beans, pineapple, mango, yogurt, oatmeal, cereal

Dani eats a lot of purées, but we really have yet to find anything (puree or otherwise) that she won't eat. My only issue is that her gag reflex seems overly sensitive. If I give her table food, it has to be in the tiniest little pieces, even though she can bite and chew, otherwise she'll gag herself. If I give her something she can bite a piece off of, she'll stuff her whole mouth until she throws up. Normal? Something she'll grow out of?

I vote normal and will grow out of. M couldn't handle mumums because she'd shove it all in or break of big pieces and gag/choke. She's gotten a lot better with the gag/choke over the past few weeks. We just keep giving her small pieces to let her figure it out. I do have to space it out or else she shove fistfuls in her mouth and gags. Dainty, she is not.

DD eats whatever we are eating - we just had dinner of roast chicken, mashed potatoes, broccoli and carrots. Since we are away I've been giving her a pouch on the go and bites of whatever we are eating. This is much easier in my opinion. With my first I was into making elaborate baby meals which was fun, just don't seem to have the time now.

We give G mostly what we eat whenever appropriate (avoiding added salt and sugar).

He loves meat and Cheerios, anything else he's not really interested in.

He eats somewhere in between what we eat and occasional "baby" things like applesauce (I prefer not to eat from a pouch).

He's weirdly not that in to fruit. Pulled pork has been a hit, and pizza crust or other bread items are usually popular.

Val eats pretty much anything we eat or DS eats. She isn't afraid of flavor either.
Purées aren't a big hit but u do use the fruit ones to mix with her yogurt.

Yesterday's random discovery was that Henry loves raisins. I sorted through them to make sure there weren't any big clumps of them stuck together that he could choke on. This is a great discovery because raisins are so easy and not hard to clean up after, so they will be good for on the go.

M has the same thing going with her gag reflex when we give her solids as well as she tries eating everything we give her at once so it has to be given in small amounts. I figure she will eventually learn and the gag reflex will gradually fade with time.

S eats almost all puree flavors and mummums. He will take small bites of soft fruits and avocado, though. He just doesn't understand how to feed himself. He bangs and smashes things until they are destroyed or off the table. Kind of like this:

Asher uses the pincer grasp great - until he decides it's too slow of a delivery for food and starts to shovel it in his mouth.

This is us. I feel like so many of the foods listed aren't possible yet for Cal because he can't pick them up (beans for example).

I feel like we are just coming out of that stage and now C is realizing that the stuff in front of him is food. Before, he would go through an entire orange, piece by piece, smashing and mutilating them (and then dropping the pieces to the pugs) before finally bringing one to his mouth and realizing ITS THE BEST THING EVER.

We're doing a mix of purees and our food, and he'll eat pretty much anything. One thing I haven't started with him yet but loved with DS1 was freeze dried fruits/veg for the diaper bag. I always had some peas and corn in my bag, and it was perfect for being out and about.
