Another 5 am wake up here despite some brand new blackout curtains that have turned her cheerful nursery into the batcave. Between earlier wake ups and poor naps, it's really taking a toll on her. She used to wake up happy and smiley, now she's irritable and grumpy. Even breakfast doesn't perk her up. Aside from teething she doesn't seem sick, so I am at such a loss. I just want my little moo to feel better
London have you tried sleep training in the AM? Leaving her in there in gradual increments to tell her it's not time to wake up yet?
Yes, but it's hard because I don't know what it's supposed to look like. Does she fall back asleep? Does she just wake up later the next day? We usually let her toss around for 20-35 minutes or until she gets more vocal but it isn't having much of an impact as her wake ups are getting even earlier.
The toddler is still sick ! She's such a beast sometimes when she doesn't feel well . Like she loves to play so she tries to go into her playroom but just gets frustrated and starts throwing everything in sight . And just being very difficult to deal with . At first I thought she was cutting her last molars but I'm thinking it may be something else ?
My moms watching the girls tonight , so I hope dd1 gets better ! We have an event with DH's work tonight . He's in management now so it's pretty mandatory we go . This will be the first time I'll meet his co - workers in the four years he's worked there .
London I'm sorry for the early wake ups ! T's been doing it this week too and it throws the day off . She's so cranky I have to put her down for a nap with in an hour of her waking up ! So I really have no awesome advice .
If she wakes super early ( like she did today , 4:30) I'll feed her in her room with zero lights on , rock her for a min , lay her down and tell her goodnight like I would just putting her to sleep . Sometimes that works ! I hope she sleeps better soon !
London we have been having 5:00-5:15 wake ups all week. She also screams like I'm murdering her every time I lay her down in her crib for a nap. Just last week she was smilling and kicking her legs from excitement at nap time and fell asleep super easily. I remember you writing something like you we're happy you knew A had the skill to put herself to sleep so that when this regression would be over she would go back to her good sleeping self. That's what I'm telling myself this week!
emejay merci ma chère! So far, the other side is treating me well
London I'm probably not much help. Freya usually wakes between 4:45 & 6 and I go in and treat it like a MOTN wake up. I feed her and put her back down. She usually sleeps for another hour and a half after that. I know you don't feed MOTN so I doubt that's helpful for you
Oh, is it flooding again here? This rainy season is such an Aunt Brenda.
My drive home from Dani's school to our house is 20ish miles (30-40 min with traffic). I left her school at 5:30 last night and got home at 8:00. She slept for an hour, totally screwing up bedtime, and then I had to keep handing her mum mums because she was starving. Good times. Also drove through two active mudflows across the road to even get to her school in the first place. I'm working from home today as we plan on more rain, because yesterday's 6" wasn't enough.

I thought Callie was going to STTN last night but she ended up waking up. She did sleep for 4 hours straight though which I think is a record that she hasn't attained in a long time. It felt good.
It rained here a lot yesterday too. Which is great for our new sod but we have comcast coming out later this week to dig our new internet cable so we will be starting all over again anyways with the sod. Whatever.
I feel so much better today, my soreness is almost gone. The epsom salts really helped.
London, is it possible for you to bring her into bed with you after she wakes up in the early AM? I know some people aren't into that but I usually get an extra hour or two of sleep if we cuddle.
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL! Well, not really. But it's the last day of finals so close enough. I am so over this school year.
Regarding early wake-ups, I'm dream feeding around 5:30, which has been keeping her alseep until 7:00-7:30. I tried skipping the dream feed a few days and she was up by 6:00. It's a short window though; if I wait too long she's awake.
She used to sleep through to 7:00-7:30 just fine without needing the dream feed so u don't think she's actually hungry.

I've tried reintroducing MOTN feeds, and treating early wake up as a MOTN wake up. No dice

We actually do bring her into bed with us every morning, where she nurses and then plays for a few minutes. I would absolutely love it if she snuggled in for more sleep, but hasn't since she was a newborn. Why snooze when moms nose is there and demands to be grabbed?

Thank you for reminding me of my own good logic. Right now my thought process is much more "whyyyyyyyy are you ruining everrrrryyyything fussy baby!"
I want to buy SO a pair of tickets to a soccer game but I can't find anywhere info on how it works if we bring our baby? Do I just walk in with him no big deal?

I know for Toronto FC babies under 2 are free and can sit on your lap.
Arthur will probably want his own seat though. More room for his hot dogs and beer.
I'm not feeling well H is totally fed up with his classmates Host said she'd get back to me today but its after 3pm and I haven't heard a thing We have that dinner to go to tonight and I'm not looking forward to mingling and schmoozing.
Can't wait for tomorrow at noon when H is off for the weekend! Then on Saturday we're going here:
txshep, Aren't baby kisses so sweet but so disgusting?
Re: early wake ups. I have no advice. A's always been up between 5-6 (sometimes earlier, sometimes a little later, like 6:30). Bringing her into bed with us is not an option, because H has turned our bed into a play area for her.
Woke up at midnight to A screaming bloody murder. Go in to get her, and H tells me know, she needs to CIO for 5 minutes. Um, dude, when did we decide this? After 5 minutes, I go get her and she tries to snuggle in, but she freaks out when she sees H. He tells me she's been screaming for AN HOUR now. WTF, dude. I get her calmed down and snuggled in, but she just can't settle. I suggest a bottle, since she's actually behind in her intake because she skipped one to nap at DC, plus we didn't give her a last solid meal before her night bottle. So, if she's been refusing to settle for an hour, she could actually be hungry.
Suddenly H - who has read NOTHING on sleep training and has been relying on what I relay to him - throws a fit that it's exactly what THEY say we're not supposed to do. A freaks out again. He changes her diaper (a nighttime disposable, since he claims it's the cloth diapers ruining her sleep, clearly not the case). She's beyond exhausted and freaked at this point. I get her mostly calmed down, but again she won't settle. Our goal right now is to get her self-soothing again by trying to introduce a lovey (to replace the bottle). I'd only told him about gradual cry it out, but we had not discussed using it yet. After another hour, H finally relents and gets a damn bottle.
She chugs it and passes out for the rest of the night, aside from a brief fuss moment cured by a quick back rub.

But what do I know.
We did Sleepeasy (so a CIO method) and when my baby was screaming bloody murder I went to him. This wasn't how I wanted sleep training to go
London Mine wake up early too. If they're happy, we leave them play in their cribs. The last two mornings they've been crying by the time we wake up. No idea if we're just not waking up or if they're getting more upset more quickly. I suspect this morning was related to eating less yesterday.
Did anyone else's period come back all wonky? I'm on my 3rd cycle - all three I bled really lightly and only for 2-3 days. The cycles were 25 and 26 days, which is average for me before baby. But I'm currently on CD32 right now. I'm not temping or anything so I couldn't tell you where I am in the cycle. Also still pumping 5x a day, if that makes a difference.

Yes, so far my range has be anywhere between 27-32 days. I have had 4 cycles so far. Are you still BFing? I know that's the cause for my whacky cycles. My last one was only 27 days and Val was nursing a whole lot less due to teething. Since we are past the teething now she is nursing normal so I will expect my period later.
I hate that the first place my mind goes when I feel sick is pregnancy...no matter that I'm sleep deprived, stressed, and H may have had an illness the last few days.

Mine did, sort of, I had one cycle that went to 32 days but now they are evening out closer to what they were pre pregnancy, 29 days. I pump at work and BF the rest of the time. They are much lighter, and I have zero cramps which is lovely, but PMS is horrendous.
