MH and I are running errands together minus Asher for the first time since September (he's at DC still and we had a 1/2 day for finals - were running personal errands while waiting for our EOCs to be scored by the district so we can finish grades).
Canadian dollars? Did I miss something?
We're headed to Seattle then Victoria for vacation
evandauclameghan I also have a wannabe standing potted plant. But he wants me to hold him in the standing position all day long. I try to put him on his tummy and force him to figure out the crawling thing, but all the complaining and crying makes me batty. I really DNW to skip crawling.
I found a piece of cardboard in my baby's poop a few days ago. It was a bitten off small piece of a Rice A roni box (still had the "Rice A" letters perfectly clear!) This is the baby who doesn't want any food (not even puffs or mum mums), but sure, he'll go for cardboard. WTF?

One of my favorite things about going to Canada was using a credit card and finding that my $30 dinner was charged on my card as like $23. Felt like I was getting some secret discount!
I guess that "discount" is called the exchange rate.

hovenb - this shouldn't surprise you, but my kid likes cardboard too. I caught him eating an Amazon box the other day. And he prefers the mum mum box to the actual mum mum.
No one is answering their phones and I need to share. I have had such an amazing day at work today. Had a big presentation this morning and nailed it. Mentored some junior staff and ended up having some great conversations. Found out I got a great (fiscal) year-end review despite being on parental leave for most of it. AND my boss was completely on-board with me taking a highly visible, highly flexible role for the next year or so. I am on cloud nine. I honestly haven't felt this way in a while. I'm going home now to celebrate with baby snuggles and wine.
Thanks everyone! As sad as it is he was fighting a losing battle with cancer. He was in so much pain that it was almost a relief that he passed. DS just yelled from the other room that DD was standing by herself. Can barely crawl but can stand unassisted. She jus turned into a standing potted plant ?.
I know that feeling. When my dad passed in March from cancer he was so sickly and in so much pain that it was so hard to watch him struggle and his passing was eased by knowing his pain was gone. Hugs still!
Allie has been pivoting everywhere, but today she discoverer how much faster it is if she goes forward. So, I officially have an army crawler. Ben never army crawled. And he didn't really move around at all until 10.5 months. So, she's beating her brother by 2 actual months and 3.5 adjusted months. They do say girls pick things up faster!
There is a tiny girl at DC (she reminds me of Dani) who has been crawling for weeks if not months now. Yesterday, she was standing by herself. My kids pulls himself around with his arms but does not crawl or stand. So I asked how old she was, thinking she must be close to one. Nope, born in September like my kid. I rationalized it by saying boys are lazier then girls.
My nephew didn't crawl until a year or a little after and at 14 mos it's just now standing and cruising. D started crawling at 6.5 months and is now cruising and using his walking toy constantly. It's definitely true about babies developing different
Is there something worse than baby pooping in a swim diaper. Uhhhh
I'm such in a bad mood. I had to cancel my yoga class this morning so that SO could go to home depot and buy stuff for the freaking electricity thing and they haven't even finished!!!!
My neck hurts, I'm hungry as hell, and tomorrow SO has a golf tournament so solo parenting again on what should be my day off. And he'll finish too late for us having dinner with his siblings before our Cirque du Soleil show.
Wahwah poor me.
And I want more lularoe leggings but it's so hard to shop. It angers me!!!

That sounds almost as much fun as getting home from 'Murica and finding out your $9 uber ride was actually $29286283!gaj936383.

Yep. Toddler shitting man-sized shits on your rug.
Also is it possible our giantbabies are going through a growth spurt?, because I am eating all the carb things too! Extra points for sweet carbs.ugh.
Haha you win the poop related incident for sure )
I'm not BFing so perhaps I am going through a growth spur?
My monitor is driving me batty. Usually it cuts out the noise machine but it's suddenly making static sounds every few minutes. Going to be a fun night.
H has a 101 fever (still refused to take a sick day), so I'm on full night shift. Took 4 attempts to get A down for the night. When I got done, I found out through FB my great aunt died. Hasn't hit yet. Id like to go to the funeral, but it's clear across the state and I fly to Utah on Wednesday for work.
Busy day and evening. We went straight from work to my mom's cousin's house to see family visiting from OOT that hasn't met Z. Had a nice dinner, but stayed way past bedtime. Thankfully Z did great. He fell asleep on the way home and woke up barely to be put in his sleep sack and take Motrin (because teeth). He's been in his crib for 4 hours now thankfully.
We left H's car at my work overnight because it was easier since Z was asleep (we have manufacturing in my building so there is people there 24/7). We'll have to go pick it up in the morning.
Best news was the head of our department spoke with HR and the new dress policy won't apply to us. We can still wear jeans, but they are asking us to dress them up more than some have been. Which means I don't need to go buy a whole new wardrobe this weekend. But I am going shopping for new sandals tomorrow. I was planning on looking for a pair before this came about.
