Hi everyone!
I am a new mom to a preemie. She is my rainbow! She was born 5/13/16 at 36w2d, weighing 5lbs 11oz and 19.5 in long. I was induced due to cholestasis, pregnancy aggravated hypertension (non- pre-e), and ultimately low fluid levels.
Because of the multiple diagnosises my doctor was prepared and I was given steroid shots for lung development, which meant that we were able to avoid a nicu stay as her lung function and oxygen level were good.
We had a setback in her weight as she dropped to 5lbs 3 oz almost immediately. She has continued to have feeding issues which has lead us to mainly formula feeding. We have latch issues and I also have supply issues. It's not what I envisioned, but I have to remember fed is best. She has climbed back up to 6lbs as of her last appointment. Because of her size and age, we are doing a lot of cluster feeding meaning I have little sleep.
Hey, love! Im happy to hear baby girl is doing well. Im sorry that bf is hard. It was very hard for me too at the beginning. Feel free to pm me anytime! Take a breath, you are doing great!
Hello and welcome! I have a 36 weeker myself (he's now 2). He got all the way down to 5#2oz but shot up in no time. Congratulations on your rainbow baby!
Hello hello! My daughter was born at 35w3days due to pregnancy induced hypertension also! Non pre-e, thankfully! We had a two week stay due to hypoglycemia and feeding issues. Hope she keeps gaining! My peanut was 5lb 2 oz at birth and now weighs 15 lbs just a few days shy of six months! They get there, it just takes time. kate61487 has an even better growth story for her two preemie twin boys!
Thanks for the tag catmom. Yeah my boys are total chunkers. At 28w they were 2.5 and 3 lb. At their 6 month checkup they were 16 and 20 pounds. S is off the charts for his adjusted age, and L is 75th percentile. We also had a rough BFing start so they've been mostly formula fed. Hope your little lady has been doing well!

holy crap! My 1lb 14oz 28 weeker is just now 17 pounds at about 14 months (11 adjusted). Good job, Mama!

Ha, I don't know how much I had to do with it (other than my chubby genes lol) but thanks
