What is your baby the size of? Babies are the size of onions
What symptoms are you having? Nothing major, swollen breasts, weird dreams, occasional heartburn, peeing all the time
Do you have any appointments this week? Thursday, my monthly ultrasound and first cervical length check.
Rants / Raves / Randoms? Gahhhhh nerves are getting me the past couple days. My "bump" looks smaller which I try to tell myself is due to decreased bloat/gas/digestion issues but Thursday can't come fast enough.
QOTW - Are you a dog or a cat person ? I reaaaallly love both but cats hair bothers my allergies more and plus I don't like litter boxes so I'll go with DOGS!!
What is your baby the size of? dill pickle, or avocado
What symptoms are you having? not a whole lot. My appetite has increased some this week. I'm also huge lol
Do you have any appointments this week? OB appointment on Wednesday. Looking forward to hearing baby's HB. kleigh, my nerves get to me too. On Saturday my bump was really soft and I could almost suck it in, which got me freaked out. Baby's movements aren't frequent enough yet for me to have that for reassurance.
Rants/Raves/Randoms? My goal for the next two months is to try to manage my stress levels as well as I can given all that I have coming up on my schedule. I also want to start doing my prenatal yoga regularly again and hope that will help too.
QOTW - are you a dog or cat person? Both!! Right now we just have a cat but we'll get a dog in a few years when the kids are bigger (don't want the wild card factor of bringing one into the family before we're done bringing newborns into the house).
Rants/Raves/Randoms? I'm tired of people telling me what I already know. If they ask me how I'm doing and I say I'm tired, they say, "Just wait til you have a newborn and a toddler to take care of." First of all, no shit. Secondly, my sister has 4 kids, so I'm pretty sure I already know what I'm getting myself into.
Ugh, why can't people learn to stfu? I think it's so unbelievably rude to say negative things to a pregnant woman. I'm having the same issue; people keep making remarks to me about how I'm going to have my hands full.
I'm going to have 2u2. This was a decision. How are your remarks helpful in any way? You're not offering advice, you're just telling me something that is, what, supposed to scare me? Fuck right off with that.

How many weeks are you? 16w2d
What is your baby the size of? Dill Pickle
What symptoms are you having? Peeing constantly, noticeable bump now (no comments from strangers yet though)
Do you have any appointments this week? Nope
Rants/Raves/Randoms? Still raving that I'm going to have a boy! I'm going to order nursery furniture soon.
QOTW - are you a dog or cat person? I have 1 of each but I would have to say cat. I love their quirky personalities and how they are more self sufficient than a dog. Example: If you go out of town, a cat with an automatic feeder is good for a few days, not so much with a dog...
What symptoms are you having? Waking up in the middle of the night/early morning for no reason, top of bump discomfort, hungry, headaches, tired easily
Do you have any appointments this week? No.
Rants/Raves/Randoms? I think packing is contributing to my weird bump tightness. Using abs to move things into boxes etc. I noticed this morning packing up L's room. DH can't do it all, but maybe I should do less....
QOTW - are you a dog or cat person? I like both. I have a very fat, 14 year old cat named Zoe and an anxious/needy but sweet 6 year old border collie/lab mix named Jazz. I'm probably slightly more a cat person, but I hate litter boxes. DH loves Jazz to death and vice versa even though technically he's my dog (I adopted him a year before I met dh). We will eventually get another dog I think, but not another cat unless L or this baby wants one super badly later on.
What symptoms are you having? Fatigue. This heat really makes me tired. Sore nipples.
Do you have any appointments this week? None.
Rants/Raves/Randoms? An odd sour taste in my mouth is gross. I don't attribute it to acid reflux, just bad breath or something.
QOTW - are you a dog or cat person? Currently have two cats and a dog. I've become more of a dog person over the years.
LOL!
+1 LOL.
Am I the only one that's already thought about what will be their first post pregnancy drink? I'm between a gin and tonic, a glass of red wine, and a lemon drop martini.
htk1113 check your tonsils. My tonsils have crevices and sometimes get tonsil stones and they stink. If I didn't know tonsil removal is brutal for adults, I'd totally get mine out.
What symptoms are you having? Feeling decent, nothing to note or new.
Do you have any appointments this week? No
Rants/Raves/Randoms? J has been talking about the baby without prompting which is sweet. He said where he/she would sit at the table.
QOTW - are you a dog or cat person? Dog. We had a cat growing up and I was half scared of her. We have had a golden and two standard poodles. I very much want a dog now but I need a yard and time. I'm hoping when kids are in middle school. The great debate will what kind we get.. I'm team poodle/porteguese water dog for non-shedding, mh is more of a Australian Sheppard fan. Basically has to be good with kids and mid to large size.
Am I the only one that's already thought about what will be their first post pregnancy drink? I'm between a gin and tonic, a glass of red wine, and a lemon drop martini.
Nope. My mom has promised to bring me a split of Lunetta prosecco to the hospital.
I think with DS, my first drink was a hard cider--I had been craving it for weeks. The next night, I had one glass of wine and got super tipsy. #zerotolerance SaveSave
DH brought me a six pack of Victory Hop Devil to the hospital when I had DS. I got through about 3 sips of it before I started to feel totally woozy and awful lol
Not sure what I'll want this time, but it'll be small.
What symptoms are you having? the usual suspects, but nothing too terrible
Do you have any appointments this week? no, 20w check-up and A/S is the 23rd
Rants/Raves/Randoms? I have gotten 2 bills totaling $800 for bloodwork from Quest Diagnostics, b/c they cannot spell my name correctly (Elizabeth has an H on the end, morons). So every time they submit to my insurance, it's rejected b/c the insurer 'doesn't recognize a member by that name'. So now I have to call, yet again, and sit on hold for 30 minutes to tell someone how to spell my name.
QOTW - are you a dog or cat person? Dog, and always have been. We always had a dog growing up, and now DH and I have a fox red lab, who is beautiful if not slightly neurotic We love her, but I think have decided this will be our first and last 'big' dog...we'll stick with small-medium sized pups in the future.
buckyb I love Cairns! I would definitely consider one in the future. My parents have had a westie since their newlywed days (they are on #3 now) and I really like terriers in general. A lot of personality in a small package.
Third insurance pains - for some reason they cannot register that J is on our insurance and always deny his claims and then accept them when I call back and complain. I had to email mh's benefits department and hoping they fixed it for real this time.
What symptoms are you having? Starting to get a bit more hungry, not great sleep
Do you have any appointments this week? Nope.
Rants/Raves/Randoms? I'm watching Father of the Bride and tearing up every other scene. I'm not a father and don't even know if we're having a girl but I can't control myself!
QOTW - are you a dog or cat person? Can I say neither? Definitely cat over dog, but I don't see us having either, ever. Don't hate me

buckyb do you recommend any of the La Croix flavors? I've been thinking of grabbing a case because my target now has it, but there are so many to choose from.
What symptoms are you having? Crazy boobs, constant peeing, out of control emotions
Do you have any appointments this week? Nope, anatomy scan at MFM next Tuesday
R/R/R?
QOTW - my allergies have defaulted me to a dog person, although I'm not enough of a dog person to enjoy the five we have. After this I'll never push more than three at a time to appease H while attempting to keep my sanity.
What symptoms are you having? Sore boobs and a crazy appetite
Do you have any appointments this week? Nope
Rants/Raves/Randoms? C (15 months) is working on transitioning to one nap a day. She slept all night last night and even slept an extra hour, getting up at 7:00 rather than 6:00. I feel great!
QOTW - are you a dog or cat person? I'm definitely a cat person.
danib, I hear ya on the sleep! How can I be so tired and then have trouble falling asleep? kleigh, I'm with you. I don't see a bump but with the change of symptoms has me freaking out. I have a week till I have an appointment tgrimes1980, I think people want to say something but don't know what to say. At which point, they say something that seems obvious or rude. htk1113, I've been having weird after tastes in my mouth since week 7! I avoid sugary and salty things because those are the worst! LizInFL, we have a similar issues. DH's insurance is from a different state so they try to charge us because they couldn't find our name in the same company but local branch. It's always a mess! hangry, have you seen the commercial for Amazon with the dog that the baby doesn't like until they dress it up like a lion. I have to change the channel. I would be so upset if baby didn't like my dogs.
How many weeks are you? 15 +4
What is your baby the size of? Multitool or Naval orange
What symptoms are you having? I still have indigestion (or my stomach's off) only at night, but hungry during the day, BH, frequent urination (could be b/c I've been trying to get 100oz of water a day) Easily emotional. Tired. Headaches/migraines.
Do you have any appointments this week? Nope
Rants/Raves/Randoms? Where do they get these fruit sizes, toy sizes from? I look at Naval orange and that's bigger than a Haas Avocado so I'm so confused!?! And what kind of multi-tool are they talking about? Someone who is 2 weeks ahead of me has babies the size of an onion, most onions I've seen are about the same size as a Naval orange so that confuses me too!?! Anyone else find these sizes confusing?
QOTW - are you a dog or cat person? I love both but I would have to say dog over cat. I'm allergic to both, but cats bother me more than dogs do. Like if a cat is on the bed before I go to sleep, I usually wake up with puffy eyes. Dogs sleep on my all the time (once a week), and it doesn't cause that.
Am I the only one that's already thought about what will be their first post pregnancy drink? I'm between a gin and tonic, a glass of red wine, and a lemon drop martini.
Not at all. I've been thinking about it so, has mh. He's going to brew me a few post pregnancy beers for the house. Very excited!
htk1113 check your tonsils. My tonsils have crevices and sometimes get tonsil stones and they stink. If I didn't know tonsil removal is brutal for adults, I'd totally get mine out.
Gross! I know exactly what you're talking about and they make me gag. I'll take a look for some and try not to vomit all over the place. Hork! Just the thought...ugh!
cheshie6 Yes! I totally agree on the baby sizes thing. Like one place says an onion, another says a toilet paper roll, and another says a chipmunk. These things are all different sizes in my world ! I'm so confused.
