It was a complete disaster. The only saving grace was that LO's non stop crying and fussing miraculously didn't wake DD.
Except DD I think is getting a cold.
No plans today. Try to figure out how this mom of two thing works. I'm still in so much pain from the c section though that i can't do half what I want to and I'm getting frustrated. The hormone aren't helping.
That's a like for camaraderie @cattucino it'll be me soon. That's awesome that your DD slept through it. I think the first night is the toughest and I hope you have some help today!
We had a tough night. LO screamed starting at about 9:30 and was inconsolable for about 30 minutes (seemed so much longer)... I finally got her to fall asleep on my shoulder for 1.5 hours. Then she woke up at feeding time and went back to screaming. It took about 20 minutes to get her to finally take a breast. She ended up passing out and I had to wake her to feed at 6 am. At least I did end up getting some sleep. I really think her screaming is all about burping as she begins to calm after burping or spitting up. May have to get some gas drops.
We spent part of the morning outside with LO in the K'Tan, which I love. DH surprised DD1 with a new bike (it's a mini beach cruiser style) so she wanted to go out and ride her "cruiser". So cute.
I need someone to show me how to use the K'Tan. I've tried it with a stuffed animal and it just doesn't seem right. Like it seems like it will be difficult to get the baby in and he will be really high. I got an XS based on the manufacturer's size recommendation.

packerfan4life, I hear you on being burnt out at work. Things at my office are sloooooow right now, which is good, because I'd probably be exhausted if we were busy, but I'm just ready to be DONE. Sorry about the shoes. I have been wearing flip flops. Not at all acceptable office footwear, but I can't fit my feet into anything else right now!

I am grumpy and feeling overwhelmed. I had to get an IV iron infusion this morning because I'm anemic and the hematologist wants me to do 4 more, twice a week, before I deliver. My arm is bruised from the IV. The next infusion is scheduled for Friday. My OB is less concerned about my anemia and says I should do two and then see what my counts are. Gotta love when medical professionals disagree. Maybe I'll go into labor after two and not have to worry about it. Not counting on that though.
I also have NSTs twice a week in addition to the iron infusions and my weekly OB appointment, so I'm pretty overwhelmed with all the medical appointments, we are trying to sell our house and work out some kind of semi-complicated deal with a family friend who wants to buy our house but can't close until her house sells, so we need to meet with a real estate lawyer about that, and money is really tight until the house sells. Because this is all stuff I really LOVE dealing with when 37 weeks pregnant.
Ok -- end rant. I didn't mean to be so ranty. I apologize.
Took DD to the splash park today. She's not really into getting too wet but likes to splash and play in the sand area. Just got home a little bit ago and we are having lunch. The baby is going crazy from the strawberries. DD was the same way. Not much else planned today. Hopefully DD takes an extra long nap
Just went on a 2 mile walk. Woke up dh at 3:30am this morning to have sex and I'm having spicy Thai food tonight. Trying everything but no luck.
I feel you on this. I've eaten about 500 pineapples, 20 pounds of dates, 180 boxes of RRL tea, all the Thai and Mexican, all the walking, all the labor ball, all the not-that-pleasant sex and I've got nothing here at 40+2.
I need someone to show me how to use the K'Tan. I've tried it with a stuffed animal and it just doesn't seem right. Like it seems like it will be difficult to get the baby in and he will be really high. I got an XS based on the manufacturer's size recommendation.
The stuffed animal doesn't really mimic the baby. When you put the baby in it stretches down so it won't end up being too high. I'm having the opposite problem with my little baby - he hangs way too low. You're supposed to be able to kiss the baby's head. I sized down based on reviews I read, so it's definitely not too big.
littleducky you have a lot on your plate - no wonder you are overwhelmed! I'm sorry. Hugs!
Our apartment balcony is being tiled today (yay for no more ugly concrete!) so DD and I are hanging at my parents house. I'm so enjoying extra hands today!
I spent most of the day in L&D triage after having a severe headache and tons of vomiting since yesterday evening. The good news is that I don't have pre-eclampsia. So this is happening just because. I got IV fluids and zofran and then a med for my headache and prescriptions of those 2 to take for the rest of my pregnancy. Baby was doing awesome. I had some contractions while I was there, but nothing major. I feel a lot better than I have in a while after taking the meds, but I'm so exhausted from being up all night.

Yikes babyzebra, I'm sorry you had such a scare! I'm glad you don't have preeclampsia and that baby looked good. Hope you can get some rest now that the meds have kicked in!
frecklesnbrains, I am having the same problem with the K'Tan. I know the size I have is right, but she hangs too low and I can't kiss her head and I find myself worrying about her air flow, etc. because she is all balled up. I am wondering if I just need to wait until she is a little bit bigger. I did finally figure out how to put it on.
babyzebra, I am so sorry. That is so stressful. I am glad you are feeling better and hope you can get some rest!!
littleducky, that all sounds very stressful! I hope you guys get all that worked out or that baby comes soon!
So sorry shoogars, I hope last night with LO screaming is a one time thing! I always wonder what age you find out if they are going to be colicky or a fussy baby? Does it usually show up by a few weeks? LO is very laid back so far, but I am still crossing my fingers because she's only 11 days old!
babyzebra I have been thinking of you today! I'm so sorry you had such a scary night! Glad you are feeling better today. Hopefully you can finally get some rest tonight.
Just finished my NST... All is well, so we wait. My midwife said she'll chat with me my doc tonight and call. Might move up the C... She also checked me. Ha!! -2 station and .5cm.... So nothing's happening there.
