+1 goldenlove3 I hope they kept all small talk for the moments that their hands weren't all up in your mouth.
It went fine! I told the hygienist that I was pregnant and we talked about ivf. She had a bunch of questions about it because she had trouble too when she was married. Luckily she saved the questions for when her hands were out of my mouth.
So exciting day here.. toured daycare for our intake meeting and the baby teachers were so excited to see me, so that made me excited. Funny the first thing that is official just for this baby is a backpack and daycare tshirts.
And then I talked to my derm and my biopsy didn't go so hot. Earliest stage of melanoma and have to get it removed on Tuesday and then do scans every 3 months. I'm just so thankful I went since I was fed up with acne and caught this.
sophiegrace I'd find a different derm that sent you away while having kids for yearly skin scans. Come to mine in DC and then we can go get Gtown cupcakes!
DH got home and took DS to the pool and I am trying to figure out if we're having leftovers or Chipotle/Panera for dinner. I had stuff to cook but cooking sounds so...hot. It was a billion degrees out today. Luckily DS was super amenable and easy while we did our errands.
danib I always did a big clean when DH would come home from deployment or work-ups; I definitely relax my standards a bit when he's gone!
H asked me last night what my thoughts are on Irish twins. He was serious. Dude, no. Hell mothereffing no.
My sister and I are 10 months apart, and every time we have a kid, my husband says we should try to beat my parents' record, and every time, I tell him that I will cut it off if he comes anywhere near me with his penis in the first month post-partum.
danib yay for H coming home! tallblonde, so glad they caught it early, such a scary thing. goldenlove3 glad the dentist went well and have fun at dinner!
I know there were others I wanted to tag but I'm mobile and I've forgotten already
Re: postpartum night sweats--never had 'em. I did however have my hair fall out from weeks 14-24 and it's still growing back around my temples, and is hideous, especially when it's humid lol
*TMI ahead* Also, the first postpartum poop was one of the worst and most traumatizing moments of my life. I was 2.5 days PP and had just put DS down in the pack and play and went into the bathroom. I had a second degree tear and between the stitches and the fact that I was sooooo constipated from being on IV penicillin for like 3 whole days (GBS+) it was horrendously painful. And of course within 5 minutes the baby was screaming and I couldn't go to him bc I was...um...stuck, and DH wouldn't wake up despite being 3 feet away from the PNP. I think I actually yelled for him a few times too but no dice. So I just sat on the toilet with my boobs leaking everywhere and just cried and cried.
Next time I am going to eat fistfuls of Colace and maybe also attach a remote zapper to MH that I can activate when he won't wake his ass up.

Holy shit that's scary tallblonde. It's stuff like that that makes me really want to just switch to someone else, even if it would mean a trip to DC. I'm very very fair and made tons of poor tanning choices. Acne should be the least of my future worries. You would have so much to show me!! I would love to feel like a city girl for a day.
I'm honestly not sure what's worse between all of these stories. I might send a friend a PM later though and ask her how the F she made it to the beach (bathing suit and all) last week and 1 week PP.
sweetmelissa5 not a record I want to beat either! I do want lots of babies, but some time to enjoy this one for a bit first would be nice and I think very appreciated by my lady bits.

I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to scare anyone!
I actually had quite a few terrible things happen to me during birth and postpartum but if I talk about them it's not for pain Olympics purposes; it's because I think people should be open about the fact that pregnancy and childbirth and ESPECIALLY new motherhood are really hard and women need to be supported through them. Bottom line though: nothing that happened the first time around has made me want to have several more babies any less. That should count for something, right??

Oh no worries! I'm glad everyone is so open. I can't imagine the amount of women who are shocked at how bad the recovery period is. Like, I expected my milk to come in but thought it would dry up within days. Three bouts mastitis and 5 weeks later it finally did. I still fully hope and dream to be able to breastfeed this go around although I swore I never ever would after that!
sophiegrace Can we talk about your 1wk pp friend who was in a bathing suit?!?! I was still wearing gross massive pads at 1 week. I don't see how that is possible! You must ask

I second this.
And hangry I can guarantee I'm going to ask the second after we announce on Facebook. She looks like a magical unicorn, bikini and all. Shouldn't there be some sagging? A bit of puffiness? SOMETHING? Shoot, I didn't leave the house without what felt like a diaper for at least a month.
sophiegrace It would have been physically impossible for me to have Irish twins. I got my first pp period when L was 14.5 months. But...I've had one period in almost 2.5 years so that's kinda neat. Even if it was possible, there's no freaking way. It's hard enough being pregnant with a toddler.
