ashtog hearing how different all of your deliveries were is really cool! It's so crazy to have been through it before but know that this experience will likely be pretty different.
It is so crazy lol. I am going into this next one wanting to forgo the Epi but also knowing how my body reacts to being induced and if I can't cope I'll just give in to that sweet blissful numbness.
But I'm secretly hoping that baby 6 will put me into labor at 37 weeks in my own lol and then I won't need to actually be induced
As someone who labored for 36 hours actively with over 3 weeks of prodromal labor, I am hoping you short labor ladies somehow magically rub off hahaha.

I'm all about the epi. Sweet, sweet relief.
With DD, water broke at 5pm, went to hospital where I was only 1 cm. Didn't start feeling contractions until 9 pm, and within minutes, the pain was unbearable. Epi was placed at about 3:30 am. I should've gotten the epi earlier but I didn't want it to run out (OMG why did I not know that they were "free refills?"). Hadn't dilated much and they kept suggesting pitocin, which I pushed off several times. When I gave in to the pitocin, we had steep decelerations of baby's heart, twice (that was terrifying). But when they checked me at about 1:00pm, I was good to go. They told me to give 3 practice pushes on the next contraction, and wen I started to push, they said "that's enough practice!" becuase doc didn't have her scrubs all the way on. Pushed once through the next contraction, and little L popped right right!
I'd be heavenly if #2 went exactly the same, minus the pitocin and heart decelerations.
Oh, and minus the two big farts that I ripped while just chilling in the room eating breakfast with my MIL and BIL before active labor started. Since an epi numbs you, you can't control your toots. I. Was. Mortified.

Ideally I would love an unmedicated VBAC, but I'm not sure if I'll get it. My doc said since my DD was stuck in my pelvis that it's likely I will have the same problem this time. Luckily I'll get an evaluation closer to 36 weeks to make the final decision. A scheduled CS has it's benefits for sure, especially since we want this baby to come before 2017 and because my family lives out of state, but I'll still feel somewhat "cheated" if I never get my vaginal birth.
With my DD, I was 9 days late and had an induction scheduled, but she decided to come about 24 hours before I was to be induced. There was no buildup of contractions, they started during the Olympics (literally right after the US women's team won gold in 2012) and were painful and 5 minutes apart immediately. I didn't have time to shower or do much and we went to the hospital within 2 hours of them starting. I had an epidural but it wore off so most of the time I felt contractions 100%. I pushed for 4 hours with no progress, so I ended up having a c-section. I just remember that I shook the entire time I was in labor and even into recovery. The vomiting was awful from the pain meds. As much as as I thought I was prepared for the labor process, I definitely was caught off-guard at how fast and furious everything happened.

I legit loled.. But maybe because I'm still 6 and laugh at fart jokes.
The recovery really was much easier than I anticipated and pain was much less than anticipated. My hospital has a rule of staying in bed for 24 hours after surgery, which absolutely sucked, but the next morning I got out of bed by myself and took a shower by myself. My husband and I made laps around the maternity floor no less than 4 times every day. The strangest part of the whole deal for me was not being able to move my legs - that was a little frightening but it wore off after a few hours. I still remember feeling SO relieved when I moved my toes for the first time lol.
tmclawchick it really was weird to just walk in!! The nurses were amazing!! I think we may have danced in bc I told her that I felt like the tuba in a second line lol.

Oh, with DD,ds2, Sawyer and ds4 I had weeks of prodromal labor too. Every night, as soon as I'd get comfortable I'd have all the contractions. Sympathies friend.

summergirl1211, the shaking! It was unbearable! That's all I can remember.... having DS put in my arms and crying because I couldn't hold him without support due to non-stop shivering and numb arms.
The one thing I did enjoy about my c-section (and this might be a FFFC), was having the catheter immediately following surgery. It was nice not having to feel the urge to pee.

Well as I told my OB yesterday I have only one non-negotiable birth plan: To deliver a healthy baby who is full term.
For specifics I would like to deliver vaginally with epidural. Fast labors run in both sides of my family (my aunt literally crossed her leg as soon as she got to the hospital while yelling for a doctor because my cousin came too fast) so I want to be in the hospital from the get go. I would prefer no suction or forceps, if it comes down to it, I'd rather have a c-section.
TTC#1 since Feb 2011 With an RE since 2012 August 2012/March 2014: Med cycles, 5 IUIs, 5 IVFs and nothing. Diagnosed with Premature Ovarian Failure (POF)
We adopted four embryos! Transferred 2 - they both took!!! Rebecca & Sara born at 23 weeks on 04/06/15. Rest in peace my angels. May 2016 - Transferred one embryo. BFP on 5/11!! We are due in January 2017!
With DS going to the hospital seemed like a waste of time as I wasn't taken seriously over being in labour and it was only the fact my waters were bulging out in the sack when I went to the toilet that they let me stay to give birth. I had no pain relief so I plan to stay at home with this one.
