I keep trying to kill my fridge so I can get a new one since ours is 10+ years old and is nasty no amount of cleaning helps. Welp last night my oven decided to stop working. I was able to unplug it and bring it back to life but I'm sure it needs to be replaced. It is also 10+ years old. But I hate cooking so I am not looking forward to something that I don't like using even. I'm sure all the appliances are going to go now since they are all roughly the same age including the washed and dryer. Financially it would completely cripple us so fingers crossed they all die a slow death a year apart haha.
emejay we have Ellis's 9 month appointment today but she will be 10 months on Saturday so it's a bit late My partner and I have very different ideas of how much E will weigh. She thinks 22lb. I think 19.5.
****loss and living child discussed***** We're queer. I'm 34, have severe stage 4 endo, and both fallopian tubes are gone. My love ("Manada" 33) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tav.in and Ca.sey at 21 weeks gestation.

I can't believe she's almost 10 months.
Also - A was 19.5 lbs at his 6 months appointment haha

evanda, I hope all your appliances die slowly apart from each other lol! We want to get new appliances as well. Mainly our oven is the main issue and we hate our microwave but it's just not in our budget right now. So we might wait until next year.
Caught up on GoT last night and went to CrossFit. Surprisingly I'm not sore today which makes me wonder if I pushed myself hard enough. I wish I had worked out a bit harder since I won't be able to make to them today or tomorrow.
Tonight I'm going to small group and I'm making mini corn dogs. I'm super excited about them and I might make extra so I can eat them : )

Our microwave died a few months ago which worked out pretty well because we found a clearance one. We really planning on putting an addition on our home next year because our kitchen is super tiny and we have no dining room so we were going to get new appliances then because we will be taking out a loan. Ugh stupid adulting.
Morning ladies! I know this has been discussed before but I can't find the info. How did you identify all the stuff your kid brings to daycare? Did you put his/her name on every piece of clothing?
I'm beat I wish DS could have let us sleep in later than 5:30. I busted my butt yesterday getting stuff done. We got Max's birth certificate, got some house work done, got some dinner prep for the week done, took the kids to the park & more pool maintenance. I'm literally sore from scrubbing the walls of my pool, but after shocking it last night it looks great today. We might need to shock it again since my chlorine levels are still very low.
Thinking of hitting up a splash park with my cousin & her kid.

Thanks for asking! I was wondering the same thing!
evanda, I hope your appliances cheat death as long as possible (and take polite turns). All of ours are old and we give them hugs and encouraging words. The dishwasher's panel doesn't work, but it still runs if we hit the start button. No idea what the settings are, but it mostly seems to clean. Sometimes it protests and we have to stop, wait, try again, stop, wait, and then it's fine. We almost bought a newer fridge at an estate sale this weekend, but it was a meh brand and we didn't know how old it was, so we passed.
ladymary11, I had waterproof labels on A's bottles, but they've worn off and since we're the only ones with glass Dr. Brown's, I haven't bothered labeling. None of her clothes are labeled, either. Everyone has their own cubbies, every pacifier has its own labeled rack, every kid has their own cabinet in the kitchen, etc., so it seems to keep things orderly. I know if we brought frozen breastmilk, it would need baby's name, date pumped, date thawed, etc. on it. Now we just bring her formula can and I scribble her name on it. DC provides bibs, each kid gets their own sippy cup (replaced every year), so I think for us it's if we bring anything out of the usual in? Like if we brought a special toy or something.
I imagine this will change when she moves to the bigger toddler building, since I have a feeling it's more difficult to contain things.

I personally only put her name on her bottles (we leave them at the daycare as she is on their formula during the day) it really depends on your daycare though. Kids borrow each other's clothes all the time if they are out. The extra outfit I leave there isn't my favorite so I'm not going to be heartbroken if it disappears. If she soils her clothes during the day they bag them up with her name on them We bring her pacifier and blanket home every night so that's never an issue. Diapers are stored in her own spot but again if she is out or if another kid is out they borrow.

I label his bottles and food containers. I also labeled clothes I care about (his swim shirt for example). And his sheet. But I don't label anything else. He has a cubby and his stuff goes in there. The teachers have been good about putting his clothes in the cubby if they remove anything.
We labeled her diaper bag and used these for bottle labeling m.inchbug.com/. Our daycare had a seperate cubbie for each child so we didn't have to label each and every piece of clothing/toy. I did put her initials on her pacifier.
Regarding diapers, we left a big box there and they just let us know when we needed more.
emejay we have our 9 month appt. today as well. I'm also curious on Mr. P's height, he's a skinny tall thing. I keep waiting for rolls and him to chunk out but he just grows taller. And our yard work list grows weekly.
I'm currently battling my HOA. Our neighborhood maintenance is nonexistent and it looks like crap. I've been documenting everything for the past two years with pictures, phone calls and emails. Now working with our entire community and seeing what legal action we can take. Our crappy community seriously has me considering moving. If only we could move our house to a new location. I also hate adulting sometimes
Could you out your current HOA and have others take over? If they're taking money for certain things they're required to take care of it.
Those shady ass buyers backed out of our sales contract. I'm annoyed, but not surprised. Our inspection came back clean, so that wasn't the issue. Their realtor said they flaked out when they realized how much their mortgage payment would be. Well, no shit! What do you think you'd be paying when you don't put anything down on a $250K loan.

They probably didnt realize they'd have a PMI payment for 5 years because they did FHA.
100% sure they never did the actual math in terms of what they'd be paying. It annoys me because it wastes everyone's time and is so inconsiderate.

Sorry they backed out but sounds like it may work out best for you in the long run. I swear I wonder if people ever do their homework on big purchases. There are a million online tools that help you calculate payments. We knew exactly what to expect for payments before we even started looking.

I admit, I am extremely conservative when it comes to financial matters... to the point where I have had a bank lower the amount shown on our pre-approval letter even though we qualified for more. I just didn't want that higher number out there because I did the math, and knew what I wanted to spend per month. Today it is so, so easy to figure out how much house you can afford. I will never be able to get my head around how people can just take that bank pre-approval number and run with it (unless they're totally rich, or something).
txshep, dumbasses. I do not understand why anyone would put an offer on a house before doing the damn math. Like you and tngrl3 said, there are a ton of calculators out there. Before we even talked to the bank, we knew what our personal ceiling would be as far as monthly payment (including insurance), and the bank could quickly run numbers for us when we were in negotiations, so we knew whether or not we could come up slightly or not after all the fees and crap. Bank had no problem with us going higher, it was our personal comfort. I'm glad we didn't go any higher than we did now that we've got DC expenses, car payments, etc.
Our HoA fee is only $135/year, so not a factor, but I know with many areas, this can be a make or break in monthly affordability. Idiots need to do their homework. How much are home inspections in your area? Ours range from 200-450 for the average house, depending on age and size. Why would you pay for that if you don't even know your monthly payment on the house?
cowplanet I honestly don't know what an inspection costs. I think ours was $350-400 when we bought the house five years ago, but I may be remembering incorrectly. They rushed to have that inspection done, and I'm sure it was over and done with by the time they changed their minds. The contract was finalized Friday and the inspection was first thing Saturday morning. From what I'm being told, they kept dodging their own realtor for a couple days before finally telling him they were pulling out of the deal. Shady all around. My gut was right when I had a bad feeling about them right off the bat.
txshep, you're gut was right all along! Sorry they backed out but hopefully something better comes next. Our realtor and lender went over the numbers with us so much we had zero surprises about our monthly bottom line. I'd be shocked if the buyers didn't know before making the offer what they were looking at.
We also had our preapproval adjusted to be what we were comfortable spending and not nearly as high as the lender approved.
Good news for you is that you know passed an FHA inspection in case the next buyer has an FHA loan.
txshep I can't say that I'm surprised. What a freaking waste of time, uhh.
I can't understand how you won't do the math before buying. Both our houses, we knew exactly down to the last cent what the payment would look like including taxes!!
Ellis will be 10 months old on Saturday. At her "9" month appointment today she was 20lb13oz (almost exactly in the middle of my partner's prediction and mine) and just over 29 inches tall. She's 85th percentile for both. We asked the doc about the fact that Ellis is preferring food to milk/formula during the day and she said she's not concerned about her increasing her food consumption and decreasing her milk (on her own accord) since her weight and activity levels are so good. She also said that if we want to replace formula with whole cow's milk we can since it's only a percentage of her milk consumption (she gets breastmilk for 1/2-2/3 or daytime bottles and then breastmilk mornings and nights.

Also - How many diapers at a time do you bring?
Anything that I leave at DC I put his name on. I've bought cheap clothes at consignment to keep as DC back ups. I just put his initials on the label.
As for diapers I being one of the packs from inside the box (so like 50+) at a time. And I'll bring in a few wipes refills and gave them one of the refillable containers.

We had the exact same discussion with our pedi this morning
