we were catching a break, constipation struck! Della hasn't had a decent poop in over 2 weeks. I have brought her to the doctor 3 times now and I think we may have an answer. After trying every trick, the doctor thinks Della doesn't have enough anal muscles to push out a poop so we have to see a surgeon. She thinks Della has a hard poop in her and just can't get it out so we have been doing suppositories, enemas and Miralax. She finally had a decent sleep and nap so hopefully we found the remedy until the surgeon's appointment. Anyone have any experience with this?

Man that stinks! I don't but we have poop issues here, but he holds it. Non of the meds helped him but the fiber one brownies do. Hope you have an easy fix with the surgeon.
Ugh. That sounds rough. We dont have anything like that but have dealt with constipation for 6ish months. Henry is on lactulose daily and we up it if hes having more trouble. I like it better than miralax.... but miralax works better for us. The thing thats helped the most is him working on potty training. I know this isnt even on the radar for your DD tho. Just throwing that out there.
No advice, just wanted to say that I hope you get some answers from the surgeon. It's no fun dealing with things like that, you feel so helpless. Good luck!

I'm so sorry to hear that! Hopefully the surgery helps.
Riley has had issues with constipation for quite awhile now. We've been doing Mirilax daily and she still has issues. My H and I are in the process of making some more significant changes to her diet and if that doesn't help we'll ask for a referral to a specialist. Constipation is the worst!

That stinks. No advice at this young age. I hope the surgery goes well. LO has always had trouble pooping due to the high levels of irons she takes. I have found that staying on top of the poop helps. She gets juice or miralax every other 2 days. It helps prevent it from getting bad. It may be something you want to consider later on.
