Today is DS's first day at the in-home sitter. My stomach is in knots even though I feel 100% confident that she will take amazing care of him and it will do him a world of good to be around another baby and someone other than family. 4 hours and 13 minutes until I can pick him up ... hold me.
Well first day at new job. In orientation and no one can tell me where the lactation room is (I sent emails in advance and asked HR today)...so...I'm in a bathroom stall. Gross I know, but not another option because I have to be back from break soon. Oh well...10 more minutes of pumping for this session
Hope the first day goes well!
Thank you! So far so good.
The lactation room in this building isn't here anymore. I creepily asked at two offices (at least I work in a hospital) and they were at least nice about it. I'm back in the bathroom pumping again.
Someone asked if I was okay (no clue who) because they heard the pump. I explained through the door and they didn't say anything else...I'm sure I made then feel super awkward. Oh well
My DS must know how much I love him and he definitely shouldn't be refusing his bottles this week! If these kids know what we go through
My office is closing at 2:30 today because of the weather. DH is home sick. DS is at daycare. I may just go wander around Target for a couple hours...
Be careful. I find Target to be a dangerous place to wander. So many pretty things....
I live next door to a Target - it's 5 houses down from us, the parking lot starts at the end of our block. I'm there at least 3 times a week. And there's a ton of snow right now, so my evening "we need to get out of the house" routine is to put the baby in her Ergo and walk around Target for 45 minutes.
And you know, it never gets boring. Plus wearing the baby limits how much I can actually carry home, so there's always one more thing I'll go back and get tomorrow.

The first few days are really tough. Hang in there!

I also thought that employers were required to provide a place for pumping. We have some really nice rooms, but they are in other parts of the campus.

DD just sat up on her own for the first time!!!!! I set her on the floor with her hoppy around her to play with her toys, and she layer down and rolled on to her tummy. I look away for a second, and she is sitting back up.

lissiehoya I hope your sister doesn't have to dig out and shuffle around a car. That would stink! It's times like this when I'm thankful we aren't living in the city. Although our patio furniture is all gone now- totally covered in snow. rainbowsockmonkey how exciting!

My sister has been staying with her boyfriend in Framingham for most of the storms since it's closer to her work. She's actually currently dealing with her landlord because her parking space is blocked by snow.
flockofmoosen If you pedi says anything negative then you should find a new pedi. DS has never been above 27th percentile in weight and is usually closer to 20th and they have never shamed me about it.. because all babies do not weigh the same.. it's just an average. As long as you baby is continuing to gain weight over time then you're fine. They don't need or use calories the same as they did during their big growth spurts so as long as your baby is still nursing and eating the amount of food that she wants, you're good.
Thanks. The problem is that she started out in the 70th percentile, and by 6 months dropped to 49th, and now is at 14th.
My little guy has been all over the place- started at 20th percentile, was 97th at 2 months, 66th at six months, and now is 32nd. My pediatrician was not the least bit concerned as long as he was gaining weight, which he has.
I also find great joy in walking around Target buying random stuff.
I had the flu 2 weeks ago, strep throat last week and laryngitis this week. Being immunosuppressed has been the worst part of battling this disease. It's depressing.
I've been away at a location that everybody raves about. It seriously reminded me of every other crappy town. There was no charm, nothing. What is wrong everyone telling me I'd like it there? People in my state take the 9 hour long trip there all the time. I don't get it!
I'm sick of my sweet son always biting me. ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!
After reading the walking thread I'm starting to worry about DS. I know I shouldn't compare because every baby is different, but DS doesn't crawl, pull to stand, or get into a sitting position. He only army crawls. His 9 month appointment is in a week, but that seems so far away.

Absolutely don't worry - DS can only crawl backwards, he's only pulled up to stand once and never again and he is trying to sit from lying down but gets trapped half way and gives up. He seems happy and chilled out and I just think "oh well it will come in time" and it really will I promise.

DD doesn't do these either, doesn't army crawl. Zero interest. She rather be put in stranding position or roll to where ever she needs to go. Her 9 month is this week. I'm going to ask about it but I'm not worried yet. She sits well, stands very well just needs help getting there.

DS won't really stand either, even with help. At his 6 month visit they did an xray on his left hip because he had a click and didn't use it much. When he army crawls he drags his left leg and won't use it much to stand. I just hope he grows out of it. Thanks for the encouragement!
I gave DD a bath today after lunch (green beans ended up all over her pjs) and put her in fleece christmas pjs afterwards. Apparently she didn't think it was appropriate to wear Christmas pjs in february cause about an hour later she spit up 5 minutes after nursing her.
Sorry but this made me giggle in commiseration. I swear DD sometimes spits up when she doesn't approve of her current attire.
