Is she sucking with big sucks and swallows or little pacifying sucks? DD1 used me as a paci in the hospital more than she ate.
Congrats!
Small sucks :/
It's ok! Normal. Just decide how much you are willing to do it. My hospital LCs, who are board certified, taught me to move DD1's arm to keep her alert do she would do more big eating sucks.

Congrats! Can't wait to see pictures.
The first three days she shouldn't be on one side for more than 15 or 20 minutes or she's just using you as a pacifier.
I was all proud that M had been sucking on me for 45 minutes and the LC was like "uh, that's how you get sore nips. No bueno."
Sometimes they prefer one side. My left side always underproduced and M also had tight neck muscles that made it hard for him to nurse that side until we saw a chiropractor.

I'm totally being used as one. The minute I get her off, she starts rooting.
She's been a very gaggy baby so that's not fun. She didn't want to eat at all from 830-530. She acts grossed out when I give her the left boob.
DS wouldn't eat off lefty for like 2 weeks. We think his neck was screwed up and we should have seen a chiro sooner. I had to pump that side, so I was pumping way earlier than I thought I would have to. When I would put him on the left he would just turn his head away, but as soon as I offered the right, he was all about eating.

ice61313 I had a major oversupply on my left side and while she wouldn't refuse it all together, she much preferred my right side. Once everything is more regulated, hopefully she'll come around to both sides. It's still so early, she's trying to figure out this whole "outside living" thing! You're doing great, don't worry!
Congratulations! I always let both kids suck as long as they wanted, that helps get your supply up. I never got sore or craked nipples either time. Leave them out in the open air, and put coconut oil on. So I realize this is conflicting info, do what works for you. Tickling feet is good for keeping babies awake to nurse The first few weeks are rough, but it gets so, so much easier. Nipple shield helped my flat nipples the first time. Good luck!
I used a lot of lanolin in the beginning... Maybe that'll help. And those medela gel soother sticky pad things. Those were great straight out of the fridge. See if you can get your hands on either of those to try out.
I got one when DS was a couple months and yes I was told to keep nursing too 😫 but coconut oil and lanolin are great. To prevent blisters I think you need to make sure they're latched on well, not just the nip. Oh also your own milk can be used to lube up and help w cracked nips!
