LO slept 6 hours. Now I'm up because that's the most sleep I've gotten in 14 weeks.
Despite his "bad sleeper" status, he always went back down easily between night feeds, and at bedtime. Since even a month old he would kick and wriggle me away when he was ready for his bed. Now that he's sleeping longer hours it finally hit me that one day he won't need me around to go to sleep at all. Sad. Good, but sad lol...
I checked the dump and I'm pretty sure they deleted my content, but I need to try to log in and see what happens. I hadn't realized they officially banned AmyG! So she's a bad apple too? WTF ever.
This is my last week at home. I'm trying really hard to be in the moment and just enjoy our time, but I keep thinking "this is the last ___" It is so sad!
And BTW, fuck the dump. Them banning AmyG is my last straw with those assholes.
She didn't move here with everyone?
She's here now but no, she didn't. She wanted to help new moms and there's not as many here..go to the BF board, there's a thread where it's explained.
tacocat hurray for sleeping!! DD isn't a good sleeper either, and the last 2 nights we've actually gotten some decent stretches in. It makes a HUGE difference!
We've got DD's 2 month appointment today, I'm really looking forward to seeing exactly how much she's grown...she's definitely lengthened out. Last week, my sister and I compared DD's feet to my nephew's-who is 9 months old, and her's are actually longer than his!

I'm making myself pancakes for breakfast. My neck is absolutely killing me and I think it's from sleeping on the couch. I took a nap there while M slept in the bedroom yesterday. The nap felt SO GOOD, but my neck is making my life miserable right now. Thankfully I have a chiro appt today.
spikesmom - I read what you wrote about fighting sleep in yesterday's randoms. I could have written the exact same thing. What has finally started to work for us is starting to put M to bed *before* he looks tired. We don't swaddle, don't use white noise, and baths don't really improve sleep (we've tried all three). M typically cluster feeds, then I rock/bounce/sway him with his binky and he falls asleep. He does sleep a good 4-6 hour stretch when he goes down. He used to go down at 2 am, then midnight, and lately he's been going down even earlier. Saturday night I made a point to change, feed, and start rocking him before he was fussing. We had a pretty smooth time and he went down at 11. Last night he was out at 10!! Of course, he wakes up for his motn feed that much earlier, but that's just part of the deal. Evenings can get rushed for me with dinner, dishes, my shower, pumping, etc. I'm tempted to give M to H and let him fuss for a few minutes while I do something real quick, but I'm finally figuring out that that is just going to shoot me in the foot later.
My sister was going to wait until April 1st to announce her pregnancy on fb. Well, she couldn't wait and it's out today. So, I can officially tell anyone I want!

Definitely have a case of the Mondays. Trying to decide if I should try to scrounge some funds together for new tires or wait until next year seeing as winter is almost over. They are wicked pricey but I am sick of sliding everywhere.
My first day back to work is Wednesday, so we are doing a couple trial runs this week before the actual day. I can't believe how fast time has flown. I'm not ready to go back at all, but ready to figure out our new normal. I'm also not ready to jump back into wearing business casual clothing again. I really got used to the comfy clothing while being on leave!
Good luck to all the ladies going back to work today, I hope it goes by fast!
Yay for good sleeping babies, my lo did a 5hr and then a 3hr stretch last night! I feel refreshed. My DH was snoring so badly when I was trying to go back to sleep at 2am I had to pull the rnp w lo in it to the couch and slept out there. So annoying....oh and he took the 2 left over doughnuts from yesterday to work! Not cool
rosieb0514 I hope your trial runs go well, I will be doing that in the next couple of weeks and I am not looking forward to it! I totally agree about the clothing especially since none of my work pants fit anymore. Boo, I wish I could work in yoga pants!
spikesmom I also just read about your baby fighting sleep. I'm in the same boat. I've found the only way I can get him to fight his naps less is to literally play white noise right by his face and lay him on his side (of course then I have to stay by him to make sure he's ok). For some reason though (I'm assuming because he cant move one of his arms?) he naps for twice as long in this position! Also, I don't know how old your LO is but we bought a merlin's magic sleepsuit for LO when he was 3 months and it has been a lifesaver for getting him to fall asleep and stay asleep at night! I hope you find something that works for you!
Today is a great Monday because it is my first Monday of starting a new work schedule. I used to have to drive 100 miles a day to work, so when I complained to my manager about it he offered for me to work from home 2-3 days a week! I am so happy to lose some of the commute.

Good luck to all of you who are going back to work! I can relate to so much of what everyone is writing today: fighting sleep, comfy clothes, snoring husbands. It's good to commiserate. I have to re-organize Myles's dresser today. Besides vacuuming and doing some work on my classes, that is my big goal for the day. Time to put away some of his 0-3 stuff to make room for 3M and 3-6. Sizes fluctuate so much!

I would just like to say the nose-frida is the most disgusting yet wonderful thing I've ever used. Dh & I argued w/ my sister & bil over how disgusting the concept was. And that we would NEVER use one. So of course they went right out & bought us one. Fast forward to the first time lo had what sounded like a stuffy nose & in a moment of frustration (because those stupid little bulbs are not very effective) we were shocked (& yet still disgusted) with its effectiveness. Lo has a cold right now & that silly little contraption has been a lifesaver. Lo actually smiles when we get it out to use it. It's like he knows sweet relief is coming. I was the biggest naysayer & felt compelled to sing its praises this am. Because snot is how everyone wants to start their Monday!
ninergirl52 I can't get the hang of the nose frida but I feel so accomplished when I get the blue bulb to work. She's only a little congested but it's working just enough for her to breathe easier.

It may be that things are too dry up there. If you get (or make a little) saline solution & spray or drop that in lo's nose about a minute before you use it. It works wonders.

Hmm since you described something as 'wicked' I'm going to assume you live nearish to me. If that's the case, I would still get the tires. I'm sure we will get snow through March or April. And then it's off the list for things to do next year.

I'm horrified by the thought of the nose frida, but I suspect I will buy one anyway. The bulb is only halfway effective, but I must say I feel a sense of satisfaction when I clear out some major snoogies. --- The nose frida is terrifying! Do you get over the horror once you get the hang of it?
There's a mental block you have to get over, but the nose frida doesn't gross me out anymore. It's more effective than the bulb syringe, but I still sometimes have to be even grosser and use my pinky...

I have a nosefrida but have yet to use it. Pinky finger has been most effective for us. Gross yes, but lots of things we do now are pretty gross lol. I'd rather my finger have a boogie on it than poop lol
spiraltheory yes! My lo was very congested last week and the nosefrida is the only way I could get anything out of her nose @ninergirl my baby girl also smiles when I use it! I was grossed out but am now a believer

spiraltheory - I have the HUGEST aversion to snot & I got over it. Once I did & saw how effective it was I'm a believer! I promise you I was the biggest naysayer.
Re: boogers and bulbs, the bulbs tend to get mildew inside of them even if they're cleaned frequently. Definitely more gross than a nose frida. I still haven't gotten around to buying one yet, though.
kaimee27 have fun at your LO's appt, I always love seeing how much they grow. we don't have another one for 2 weeks for his 4mo appt, I can't wait to see what he weighs...we usually take bets haha
we have yet to get a nose frida but I think we may need to, the bulb doesn't seem to be working like I would like it to and Henry is a very congested baby.

LO got a cold with fever before 8 weeks so we were sent to the hospital. It was awful. That first night home I did not sleep. I actually found success with both the nose frida and the bulb. The trick is to loosen it up with saline first.
I also was a big naysayer regarding the nose frida but listening to your child struggle to breathe fixes that real quick. Also the Vicks cool mist humidifier with starry nightlight is amazing.
