DS had his first bottle of pumped milk yesterday and it went well, so tonight my sister is babysitting and DH and I are going to get dinner. I don't even know if he will be hungry before we get back from dinner, but I'll feel much more relaxed leaving him if I know he won't go hungry before I get home. I feel like even one bottle a day is going to make my life a lot freer.

Yes! That one bottle a day saved my sanity. I have DH do the first overnight feed. And having the option to leave the baby with someone else is beautiful. I'm planning to book myself a massage

greysonsmom Sorry to hear about the reflux. DD had reflux and cutting dairy from my diet did the trick. Hope it works for you too. We also kept her head elevated and her crib mattress at a slant.
greysonsmom , how did you know she had reflux? I wonder if LO has this...
She kept making this awful gasping sound and I asked the pedi about it. She makes it throughout the day but it's much worse at night. Nights seem to be so much worse for her, so much screaming between the hours of 8 and midnight.
pbandj714 how are you doing?? How are your little babes?
Thanks for checking in! I know I've been MIA, this parenting thing is a lot to get used to!
We had their first Dr. appt today, which went really well. We really like the ped! They both have gained since discharge, so she was happy with that. They go back in a week for another weight check and will hopefully be back to birth weights by then. Currently we're breastfeeding and supplementing to keep these little peanuts gaining. I've been successfully tandem feeding with a lot of help from DH. Saves so much time compared to nursing them separately!
I'm starting to feel better, but my incision aches if I stand too long. Ibuprofen is doing the trick though.
I'll try to catch up here soon! I feel like I've missed so much in my tired stupor.

greysonsmom cutting out dairy was enough for DD. As you mentioned in another post the gasping sound was much worse at night. We had her sleep in her rock n play so she would not lay flat. When we moved her into her crib at 6 weeks, our pedi suggested we roll a blanket and place it under the head of the mattress to keep DD's head elevated. We also rolled a smaller blanket in the shape of a "U" and placed it under her crib sheet. The U kept her in place so she did not slide down. The position also helped keep the gasping down.
Ktan wearers. How does this look? It felt pretty good and secure and his airway was clear.
From what I can tell, it looks good! It looks much tighter and more secure than mine. I am pretty frustrated every time I try to wear mine. I feel like she is too low, or that her airway isn't clear. Occasionally I get a good hold, but more often than not, I don't. I am looking forward to her being big enough for the hug position.
DD has reflux, my pedi wants to wait to put her on meds. Right now I'm eliminating dairy to see if it helps.
DD1 had this as well. Cutting dairy was a huge help but I know how tough it is! She ended up taking Zantac as well. Hopefully cutting dairy will eliminate it! Sorry you're dealing with that! It's hard seeing your baby not feel well! We used the rock n play as well. That helped a lot!
microworm that looks good to me! I put DD in mine today to test it out and it looked pretty similar to how yours does and it felt really secure. How did he like it?
txmommy14 maybe you need a smaller size for the ktan? Or it might start to feel more secure when baby gets a little bigger. I actually think the size I got is maybe a bit too small because it was a little tough for me to squeeze into, but then ended up feeling perfect when I put DD in there. Does yours feel a little snug on you even before you put the baby in there?

I have the XS and it still feels too loose and not secure enough, so frustrating! It must be how I'm wearing it but I've had several k'tan wearers watch me put it on.

That's a bummer. Have you washed and dried it? I'm pretty sure mine got smaller after I dried it. Maybe try giving the ktan people a call or email to see if they have any suggestions.
txmommy14 yes and yes. I took her out with the dog today without the stroller and it was significantly better for me then the kangaroo carry. If that doesn't feel better - BabyZebra is right though it may be the size. I also found that mine is the tightest right after a wash and then gets a bit looser with every wear so maybe try that too?

Hmmmm...LO does a gasping sound and is really uncomfortable in the early morning. No screaming tho. But can tell that something is coming up, but I don't know if its just from laying down too long?
Try elevating LO a bit instead of laying flat to see if that helps.

He liked it when I put him in there when he was sleeping but then tried it again later when he was fussing and he didn't care for it. We will keep trying!
