Poop is a frequent topic off conversation here between my husband's habits, our baby, and our dog. I get worried when baby girl has a bunch of really solid pops. I start breast feeding her more exclusively to soften it up.
I really hope she doesn't start playing with it one day.

Opinions or experiences with probiotics? DS gets constipated fairly regularly and/or has very solid pellet like poops. I've read probiotics are supposed to help with gut health therefore improving digestion/poop. But I wonder whether probiotics are the new it thing.
And yesterday she blew out so bad at Buffalo Wild Wing, that it got all over my scarf, sweater, undershirt, jeans, and it was down between her toes. Yum.
Ugh. We ended the day with 5 liquid poops from the toddler. When he pooped it was like the explosive, hear it across the room, kinda poop. And the grocery store still didn't have bananas. Ugh.

The outlet stores in western MD reliably make me almost poop my pants.
I did poop my pants after BWW on my birthday one year, while at the barn feeding my horses. I laid a feed bag on the seat of my husband's car to drive home in shame.
My girls poop. A lot. There were 4 semi-solid poops from the small one today, and a couple turd ball ones from the larger one. She doesn't sit on the toilet to poop, she perches herself over it... and "poops like a bird".
The cats poop. And then attempt to bury everything in the bouse, but fail to bury the poop. They got new cheap cat toy stocking for Christmas. They've been pooping shreds of sparkly ribbon for weeks. So has the small child...

pulling tinsel from the cat's butt...happy memories as a child (no cats were harmed in the making of this memory).
Speaking of sparkly poop, I want the gold flake poop pills. The only thing I'm wondering is if I could find a sample showing just how sparkly it makes your poop.
My LO just had a poop and it's been three days. It was his first "real" poop. I saved it to show my dh! Gross lol but that's how we roll around here...

We keep getting nugget poops. I'd thought I'd had a routine to keep them from getting this way (2oz. of pear juice a day and adding an extra 1oz. of water to one of her bottles). Well, it's not working anymore. She's really straining to get those nuggets out and she only gets one nugget a day out a day at best. Any ideas?
yayglitter I just do some fresh berries daily and it went from pellets to like.. Adult poop. He doesn't seem too uncomfortable but I think the seedy poo days are over.

She seems so uncomfortable, though. She'll bleed a bit from those BM's (called pedi, they said this was normal if it was bright red and occurred when she was passing hard stool after constipation). Is there anyway to make them a little softer?
DS was super cranky yesterday and for the last two nights he's been rolling all over the bed trying to get comfortable, and then sitting up and crying until I nurse him back to sleep.
Last night around 1am he took a big poop... slept like an angel... and now he's happy as a clam.
Now I feel bad that he had to be so uncomfortable for so long.

We're having issues with hard nuggets here too. I've been giving her prunes for breakfast, not sure if it's helping. When she hasn't pooped in a couple days I cut down on solids and go back to EBF, that does the trick. But then we start solids again and she's constipated again. I'm going to start giving her yogurt to see if it helps.

My son has done this a few times now. Anyone else had this happen? He poops ~ every other day (sometimes every 3 days). As he has been eating more solids his BMs are more firm. However when he strains to go, he will vomit. He has been able to go (and after the first firm - not hard- stool the rest is softer) and then has a huge BM. I just feel so bad for him.

Sweet potato? Gives my DD very mushy poop. That still looks like sweet potato.
Any advice for antibiotic causing diarrhea? I'm giving him yogurt and I can take a probiotic but idk if that passes through breastmilk. I'm coating his butt. It doesn't smell and is actually seedy again like his old bm poos.
becole is he teething bad right now? we've been having those poos too and i'm not bfing nor is ds on antibiotics. i'm just assuming it's from the extra saliva he's swallowing.. which may explain the giganto seedy poos first thing in the morning for 3 days now.
other than that.. i think banana and potato can help firm things up too.
He doesn't have any teeth so I have no idea. He always seems to be teething and pulling at his mouth and drooling. But I have no practical experience to know if this is "it" and they are gonna break though.

DS was like this forever, so I feel you. The best sense I got for it was looking at the front of the gums, if you can see the out line of the tooth pushing really close to the surface like this:
Obviously on this one you can see the tooth starting to cut, but compared to this where the tooth hasn't pushed to the gumline:
Thanks! I was googling pictures one day trying to figure it out. His are not red like that. And they're always bumped. But I can't see the tooth in the front so maybe not...
It was really hard for me to tell too .. even now after he has one tooth moving through (finally) I can't really tell if the other teeth are gonna push through right away or if he's just gonna be miserable for weeks more teeth suck.
