yalllow - I live south-central where it's pretty humid, but I think they can be anywhere? from wiki: "Silverfish are a cosmopolitan species, found in Africa, the Americas, Asia, Australia, Europe, and other parts of the Pacific.[9] They inhabit moist areas, requiring a relative humidity between 75% and 95%.[10] In urban areas, they can be found in attics, basements, bathtubs, sinks, and showers.[4]"
I guess if you are in a really dry climate, maybe they aren't an issue? Or maybe they still survive in the wet places like bathrooms and stuff. Dunno. I should ask my parents if they have them because they live in the dry desert.

Ugh I had silverfish in an apartment I previously lived in. It wasn't an infestation or anything (just a couple here or there) but they totally grossed me out!!! Good luck nattybumppo!!!

We ended up with 31 adults and 19 kids. We are doing hamburgers and hotdogs. Simple!

Taco bar! So easy to set up, and aside from the meat, you don't need to make anything!
That's not a silverfish - that's got to be some sort of centipede.
I spent last night researching silverfish and I'm not sure I buy into it as far as the reason for tiny holes in the front of the shirt. They'd eat other parts, too.
Tonight there was a silverfish on the floor by the entry way. It was sort of amusing - I usually don't see them much.

It's called a house centipede. I had them at a different former apartment of mine lol I thought they were worse than the silverfish because they are RIDICULOUSLY fast. It's a miracle if you can move fast enough to kill them. And some can get big...ugh I got the creepy crawlies just talking about them.
I used to get the holes in the front of the shirt. Then I realized it was using the fabric to help grip when I was opening twist off beer bottles.
Ha ha ha ha! I don't do that. I don't know if it's silverfish....it does seem odd, but I'm going with that theory since I can't figure anything else that makes sense. (A friend and I keep bouncing back theories of what causes the holes. I don't know what does it.....but I hate those holes....so many of my shirts have been ruined! Gah!!!)

A taco bar is such a good idea. I am going to file that one away. Tacos are the best.
