LovesMeSomeCake For DD, H only went to the first one and the anatomy scan. All other appointments were when he worked. He is on a four day schedule now, so he will bring DD to a lot of my appts.

meeggaannww, have a good flight! I hope you can enjoy the trip and relax a little!
LovesMeSomeCake, My H comes to any appointments with a u/s involved and came to the first one for any questions and to discuss testing options. He probably won't come to to very many of the "regular" appointments unless they're at the end of the day. They're pretty boring and I can always record the sound of the heartbeat for him if he wants to listen to it. As we get closer to discussions of c/s versus trying for a vaginal birth he'll be there for that too.

H has been to both appointments so far, and I'm so glad. There is alot to remember, and the emotional roller coaster of a peek a boo heartbeat would have killed me without him there. He doesn't say much to the Drs. but he told me he'd like to be at all of them, and I'm delighted! At least until I need to discuss discharge or something gross. I'm so surprised that he wants to be there, just when you think you know someone!
@lovesmesecake dh came to every single appt for DD. This time he has only been for the u/s appt because I need him to keep DD while I'm there. He seems a little bummed he doesn't get to come this time around. I will say, he is a nurse, so he is a little more interested than some men would be. And he listens better than I do.
LovesMeSomeCake I married into a Polish family! I live for the local Polish night that a church puts on, all the old grandmas do the cooking and baking. Allllll the Polish food and desserts please! It's next Friday and I think I'm going to go hard on it.
Mh only came to the anatomy scan last time. This time I've asked him to come to the NT scan too because I'm more nervous with this pregnancy.

H came to all of the appointments we had for DD and will be at all of the appointments these babies too. It's a comfort especially this time around if something goes wrong. It's also nice to have another set of ears to hear instructions or advice. I can be overwhelmed at doctor's appointments sometimes.

lakegirlLovesMeSomeCake I miss all the Polish and Italian food at festivals! They are both my heritage and it was everywhere in Western NY but there is basically zero of it out here in California. I mean, I love burritos and avocados but sometimes I just want some pierogi or a grilled Italian sausage.
Appointments: with DS he came to the NT scan, the first tri/NT results appointment because he wanted to talk to the genetic counselor, and he came to the anatomy scan. Everything else I went solo.
This time I'm not sure if he'll come because he watches DS and we really have no good options, though I guess I could pay for a friend to watch him for the anatomy scan at least. That's usually the fun one. Though we'll probably find out gender from the blood work this time so maybe he won't care.
DH goes to u/s appointments with me. This time around I'll try to schedule my appointments for Fridays, when he's off, but he'll probably just keep DS at home. DS does not sit still. Ever.
lakegirl, I'm so jealous! I grew up in a pretty heavily-Polish area and I grew up on the food. I looooove me some hulupki and pierogies. You don't find them much here in Central Ohio. And they're so much work to make myself!

meeggaannw, can't say no to a cheap flight. That's amazing. My sister and DS just made brownies. My house smells amazing. I haven't eaten much today so it's totally cool if most of my calories come from brownies, right? I had a pretty healthy smoothie for breakfast so I'm telling myself it all balances out.

LovesMeSomeCake, to the best of my memory, DH went to my first ob appointment, NT scan, and anatomy scan with DS. So far this time he's only been to my u/s. I think he wants to come to NT scan and I'm probably going to ask him to anyways.
Holy crap the hormones. I'm this close to balling my eyes out over an episode of Ken Burn's National Parks. Nerd alert. But man, the vision some of these people had!

FYI: old navy has pretty good sales on big flowy t shirts and elastic waist band shorts! I didn't pick any up because DS threw a fit and we had to go "cool down" outside. I plan on going back tomorrow to get some.
So at my last appointment I ended up getting the Panorama test and should have the results back within the week. We are team green, so we didn't check the box to find out the sex of the baby, but did anyone else?? I'm anxious to hear what everyone is having! I know we have a roster, but I haven't seen anyone announcing on the board. Unless I missed it. I'm admittedly always behind
ETA: now I do see one person in the appointments thread! There's always so much info packed into those posts, I almost missed it! Ahhhhh things are happening!!

@siouxsieq We got the blood work done yesterday, we did the check the box to find out the sex, but with twins it will only tell us if there is Y DNA present or not. So it won't give us all the details, especially if there is Y DNA present.

I have eaten so much food today, OMG. Meanwhile I've allowed myself to fall down the rabbit hole of restoration hardware for the nursery. Their stuff is so beautiful.
Ggggrrrrrr! So I had my blood work done today by the most incompetent technician ever. She drew my blood, couldn't find me in the system and needed my insurance card and ID to add me to the system. Whatever. So H and I leave the office to head home (45 minutes away). She calls me not once, not twice, but 3 effing times about information she forgot to get. She needs to me fax her a picture of my insurance card and ID because she forgot to do it during the 15 minutes she had my cards. We don't have a scanner or fax so I have to track one down. Then, she just called again to tell me she drew the wrong kit and needs me to come ALL THE WAY back into town to redraw my blood with the correct kit. I'm effing pissed. That's 1.5 hours both ways and parking fees.

Wow. That is impressively incompetent. Like, I think you have to have special skills to be that incompetent. Sorry you're dealing with it! That sucks!
@siouxsieq we had our blood draw yesterday for the Harmony test and we are finding out the sex. We aren't super into having a "gender reveal" but we are going to have a cake at dinner with our parents and his grandpa. They told us 7 to 10 business days, but may be sooner depending on lab volume.

What an afternoon. I had planned to take DS and DD to the park, so I got everyone ready to go and down to the car. Of course right next to DS's car door there's a bird who is clearly struggling, flapping its poor wings and not going anywhere. DS goes into "Animal Rescue Mode," getting all teary-eyed about how we have to help it, while I try to figure out what the f*ck to do. I ended up calling our local animal hospital (meanwhile DS is running around digging through the mud looking for a worm to feed it lol), and the lady said if I could get it to them I could surrender it over and they could assess the situation. So we had to go back into our apartment, grab a diaper box and one of DH's winter gloves, then get the bird in the box and drive it to the hospital.
I'm doubtful that they'll be able to save it, and the woman behind the counter told me quietly that it looked like it had some pretty serious trauma, but she played along for DS's sake and said loudly that they'd have it flapping around in no time. He's so relieved!

Hugs for you peaseblossom55. Being an adult is hard. Being a pregnant adult is next to impossible. Being an adult who is pregnant with twins? I can't imagine. Hugs and good vibes to you.
sandj918, I'm sorry you have someone that incompetent. If you did still need to send the cards though, just take a picture with your phone and email, no scanner needed.
Today's news, I have a gummy bear! HB of 170, only 1 baby, and measuring perfectly on track. So, so, so relieved. MIL is chomping at the bit to tell more family, but I think we'll still wait a bit longer.
ETA: she did have to break out the dildo cam, which I wasn't expecting but at least I had known it was a thing thanks to these forums. H was a bit amused by it I think.
