I'm 5 weeks post partum and still bleeding (albeit not heavily). I'm wondering when/if this is going to end. My doctor's appointment is next Wednesday. I assumed this would be over by now.
I was still bleeding a bit at 5 weeks, but it tapered off by 6 weeks. Hopefully it will be done soon for you!
Jumping on the bleeding talk- I had a c section & my post partum bleeding completely stopped at 2.5-3 weeks. I am now 6 weeks out & I am pretty sure I'm on my period??? I had EWCM about a week and a half/two weeks ago.
soultrane dh and ds are backyard camping this weekend. Dh is being a Party pooper though and doesn't want to sleep out there. birdhut have fun with your mama! Hopefully dd will enjoy the extra attention.
txmommy14 I hope the mastitis clears very soon and you feel better in the morning.

I'm breastfeeding. Is it possible?
It makes sense to me if you had ewcm 2 weeks ago. I've read it's supposed to take longer to get your period when BFing, but maybe that's not always the case??? But honestly I have no clue what's normal- I am constantly googling tying to figure out if my body is acting appropriately.
When you say bleeding, do you mean red blood? I've read so many different things about when red blood should stop and it should turn brown, etc. I'm 1.5 weeks out with red blood still. Per my internet searches the blood should be turning brown by now. Should I be concerned? Or is this what others experience too?

So PP- I went from red to very brown before it went away. The current situation is bright red again, 6 weeks out.
I'm just shocked cause my body ovulated once on its own while TTC, and of course it decides to potentially do it 6 weeks after I had a baby.

Possible. I got my period at 7 weeks PP with DD2. I think it was bc my supply sucked, she wasn't gaining weight (lazy eater). I worked at my supply and got it back up and didn't have another period until 6 or 7 months postpartum.

My supply is pretty good. He gained a pound in a week & a half. I'm pumping 3-4 oz per session. Who the heck knows. My body is a SS.

Andrea, hormones are whacky after pregnancy and childbirth and breastfeeding - I feel like anything is possible! Not intending to scare anyone, but I know someone who got knocked up at 6wk PP. She never had a PP period but must have ovulated. This was after struggling with infertility for years (her first was conceived by IVF). She was well into 2nd trimester before she realized something was amiss.
bgkc4 I'm still bleeding too, almost 6wks PP. It's basically just brown spotting and has been for weeks, but it's so annoying! I wish it would just go away already. I hate pantyliners.

The thought of this almost makes me cry. Good thing I have a foolproof plan - abstinence. No one's getting near the area for awhile.

When I was discussing birth control options with my OB she was saying that I need to figure out something for temporary measures because they don't place the IUDs until 12 weeks PP. I told her half joking and half grounded in reality that my plan was abstinence. She didn't believe me that I would not have sex for that long. Really? Don't test me lady!

I'm obviously on the crazy person hormones train, because I'm 3 weeks PP and can't wait to be cleared for sex. I also totally want to get KU--luckily my brain is running interference for me on that one.

I'm here too. I would be on the "abstinence" train if you had asked me a week ago, but since then my libido returned like gangbusters. It's been a long, long time since I had even the most minute interest in sex (like pre-pregnancy). I also kind of want to get KU again. Someone (STMs!) please tell me that that is a really, really bad idea.

Two under two is pretty exhausting! But I guess it's just a short season in life and it will be nice in a year or two from now.
Add me to the abstinence crew...my lady bits feel great, but I haven't even thought about having sex for months....except to be repulsed by the thought.

Omg. You're crazy!! Of course I mean that in the best way with lots of hugs!! . Good for you! I wish I felt that awesome instead of exhausted!
And I can't imagine 2u2. Ds is 4.5 and pretty self sufficient in a lot of ways and we still find ourselves struggling in the evenings. And he's a great big brother and super helpful and interested. It's just hard as he always wants a play mate and we can't always play with him. I'm thinking it will be better in about 3 years!
