Emergency charity drive for the West Virginia flood victims

I have a friend on the ground in West Virginia who is doing relief work, and she mentioned to me that the biggest unfilled need right now is feminine hygiene products. People are donating cleaning supplies, diapers, water, you name it, but no pads and tampons.

So let's do what TCF does best- flood the firehouse with feminine hygiene products. This is going to run until July 4, and as always, no guilt or obligation if you can't give at this time.

So glad you are doing this. I feel like the flooding was down played in the media but we live 5 minutes from wv and have so many friends in the area. Its devastating.

Thank you so much for this! I actually live in one of the 3 FEMA disaster area counties (luckily I live up on a hill so was spared from the flooding), and I really can't understate how terrible it is - the reports focus on the number of homes that were completely destroyed, but there are literally thousands of homes that were so full of water that nothing is salvageable. Flooded homes remain without electricity, and so many people are completely displaced. The generosity of those who have given to the people in need has truly been amazing, but the need is so large it is almost overwhelming.

You guys are awesome. My area wasn't bad but all the counties surrounding me are in awful shape. I hadn't thought of feminine hygiene products either.

I grew up in one of the hardest hit counties. My family is all safe and secure but there are lots of people who lost everything. Thanks so much for organizing this!

You all are awesome! H's hometown was hit really hard by the flooding. Houses, schools, businesses, completely destroyed. A lot of these towns could not rebuild without the help they are receiving. Thank you thank you thank you!

Google says the correct zip is 26431.  It looks like it should still get there (today!), though.
