Today was a pretty good day. I took both kids to get DS's hair cut and he did really well this time. We then went to my sister's house for a small meet the baby get together with some family and friends. DS got to release some energy with his cousins. DD was really great the whole day.
It's my second night with both kids on my own, so wish me luck! DS has already woken up once due to fireworks. Why can't people save those for the actual holiday?
Good luck babyzebra! One of my neighbors is also setting off fireworks. I can handle the little crackly ones, but he's also setting off the big boomers. Poor dog is hiding in our shower. And he's damn lucky the babies aren't bothered.
I overheard DH on the phone telling his parents that LO is a fussy baby and he was having a really bad day. Neither of these things are particularly true, but DH has zero babies to compare him to. This wouldn't bother me, except MIL is super dramatic and will 100% be turning around and telling everyone that we are barely surviving or something. She did exactly that to my SIL when their baby went through a sleep regression. SIL was not amused when they visited and everyone was asking about her mental health.
Dd is 26 days old and my pp bleeding has officially stopped. The past few days have tricked me, but today I even went liner free! I can't wait to take a long bath!
We took DD who is not quite 2 to a trial gymnastics class. She loves to climb, jump and drop on her behind etc. She did great! We registered her for their regular session.
We then dropped DH's car off for regular service and went into the mall. DD had a half an hour nap in the car before we got to the mall and we thought she would be good with that. We were totally wrong. She had an EPIC melt down after a while and there was absolutely no consoling her. Everyone was staring at us as we tried to make our way out of the mall. Nothing we said or did helped. As we exited the mall (DH and me in silence), we looked so beaten down by our toddler. I've heard 2-3 is a very challenging age and DD seemed to have hit her terrible 2s early.
DS was a dream the entire time. I nursed him a couple of time and he slept through everything else.
Totally been there a lot recently.....so sorry! Seriously toddlers will completely wipe you out.
I'm pumping because I've totally lost my supply with the mastitis and antibiotics. I think DD was starving all day not getting enough milk and I thought she was just being fussy, I feel awful! Finally thawed her some milk.
vivela that would seriously annoy me. I hate it when DH shares personal stuff like that with his mom cause like your MIL she always turns it into a big thing. And in your case it's not even true! I hope it is not so bad when you see her.

Sending you healing and supply boosting vibes. I know you have to be so frustrated with the mastitis! Hope the antibiotics are doing their thing!!!
sandandsea we saw Dory yesterday too. I had LO in the k'tan.
It's my birthday today and I am up early with all the kids while DH is sound asleep. It's ok because I am up to start smoking some pork butt and ribs! Can't wait until they're done!

I meant to post this last night but I fell asleep on my phone I guess. .... Lo just screamed for almost 2 hours. Tried breastfeeding, tried bottle, changed him, burped, bounced. You name it I tried. I asked dh to bounce with him and lo fell asleep. First time dh has been able to calm him and I think he felt really good/successful/helpful. I'm happy he got to experience that and I'm even more happy lo is asleep. Goodnight. Let's hope I get atleast 3 hours.

I got a 5 hour stretch woo hoo
That's so sweet!!! I bet your DH loved that. Glad you got such a good stretch!!
No big plans this weekend. Yesterday we went to the library and grocery store. No idea what we'll do today/tomorrow. The last few days LO has been wanting to feed for an hour plus at a time which makes leaving the house challenging

That's awesome! It's been challenging here that DD2 doesn't calm for H and only will for me. I'm hoping my H can get one of those victories soon!
Happy birthday shoogars I am heading to my dads today. We will hit up Costco. We are heading to Yellowstone next weekend with another family so I need to get groceries and stuff in order.
Not sure what I'm doing today. I should be ambitious and pack up LO and head over to my parents. But the house is such a mess. LO is asleep and I could take advantage of that to clean up around here. I'm managing to stay on top of the basic stuff like dishes and laundry, but some of the rooms really need a good sweep/vacuum and all the surfaces dusted, etc.
I'm a teacher so normally I'd have some kind of travel planned for the summer. A lot of my Facebook friends are teachers, so everyone is posting their awesome travel photos and I'm so jealous. I wouldn't trade or anything, but seeing people living it up in Hawaii, England, Chicago... I don't know when I'll be able to do something like that again. Travel has always been one of our biggest budget priorities and it just won't be feasable for awhile, financially or logistically.
vivela I used to travel a ton and I kept it up when ds1 was under 1. It's way easier to travel with an infant than a toddler (and cheaper when they are under2) so if you can afford to travel within the next year I'd take advantage of it. The only hard thing is all the stuff you have to travel with.
I'm so tired today. I found out last night that I am not able to feed the baby and wipe the toddler's butt at the same time. I hate when they cry at the same time. Choosing which one needs me more is tough.
Anyone using the k'tan...how big was LO when you started using it? DD2 was 6lbs 12oz at her weight check (just under 2 weeks). The recommendation from K'tan was 8lbs but wondering if they was really necessary.
