txmommy14 I'm sorry she has been fussy tonight, but I'm glad she has been easy on you so far! Did your fever go back down again? Are you feeling any better?
[br
It went back up and is at a 101. This fever isn't nearly as severe as when I got it with DS...but it's lingering longer for sure! Thanks for asking!
Tomorrow is my birthday. DH mentioned maybe going out to eat. We usually have a bunch of people over, but that won't happen. When did you all take your newborns into a public place? I don't even know if I'll feel up to it- I'm pretty sore today.
We took her to 2 restaurants today (2 weeks). I also took her to a bagel place at 1.5 weeks. My doc said no restrictions and to enjoy our summer so that's what we are doing.
Kevinmac we took little one to the grocery store when she was about a week. But we went to the park and lots of walks. Lo was a premie and we just wiped things down before.
txmommy14 as of Thursday I was 50% effaced, soft, and almost a fingertip at the bottom but not a full centimeter. So FX by Wednesday night when I go in to start the induction I'll have made some progress. ...pregnancy updates are so awkward!

Yep. Our dr gave us the go ahead at his first appointment at 6 days old so we've been going out since. Yesterday we managed a movie and today a train ride - both times he was in the wrap carrier to keep people away.
He's normally pretty good at being helpful. I don't know what got into him. He is taking care of the sick toddler at least. And he's definitely taking the next feed for DD2. I have decided
I can commiserate. Except MH is losing his cool with the toddler. He doesn't understand that it's just the age and wants no advice on how to better deal with his tantrums.
Add my H to the irrational list. He's definitely losing his cool with DD and while he doesn't yell at the baby, his tone and his words toward him sometimes are very, very off putting.
Here's my thought on the whole thing - men want to WANT to be helpful but they aren't grown up enough to truly be. It takes maturity to say "I'm walking away from this" or "What I'm doing isn't work... Let me try something different." It's much easier to lose your shit than to stay calm and rational....

GOmamab15, I totally get your nerves. I've had two inductions that went relatively smoothly and quickly, though I didn't want either of them. But they worked, and LOs got here. Recovery the second time has been much easier, possibly because I was already a tiny bit dilated when I went in and it was shorter overall (fingertip counts imo!). Either way, we are all thinking of you!

GOmamab15 I have no basis for comparison, but the pitocin helped me dilate (I was stuck at 3). The contractions were rough but manageable for several hours; and when they became unmanageable I requested and received an epidural. I had a difficult labor towards the end, but it had nothing to do with the induction. Good luck. I hope you have a relatively easy delivery.
Anyone using the k'tan...how big was LO when you started using it? DD2 was 6lbs 12oz at her weight check (just under 2 weeks). The recommendation from K'tan was 8lbs but wondering if they was really necessary.
I've been using it since he was about 6.5lbs. I just added the sash for extra security.
So my mom was here visiting and the short version is: My dad was supposed to come with his fiancé this weekend and my mom called him without telling us to see if he would come a different weekend so she could come this weekend since she could get an extra vacation day to be here. We were upset she didn't even ask us if that was ok since she was going to come the weekend DD2 was born and then we'd see my dad this weekend which would have helped a lot. Anyway, she then tells us yesterday that she's going to go ahead and go home a day early. WHAT THE?! Seriously?! That's the whole reason you came was to have an extra day and we never see you. Then she leaves at 3:30 this morning. Who does that?! Like she couldn't wait to leave. I know we couldn't do much with the rain and a new baby but the whole reason you came was to spend time with them and then she took really long afternoon naps and went to bed early so I feel like we didn't see her much. When she was leaving the dog came in our room from sleeping with her and jumped on the bed waking us up and then jumped in the baby's sleeper scratching her face and waking her from the deep sleep she was finally in. 😡 I felt so bad for her and so mad at the whole situation!
Sorry thanks for letting we vent. I tried to be short!
Last night was shit. Up every 1.5 to 2 hours screaming and then he wouldn't settle after the 6:30 am feeding so I think I got about 4 hrs of sleep. Yay 4th of July.
birdhut that is super annoying and the dog even!? I'm sorry, I hope you have a relaxing Monday.
Thanks and yes! Thankfully he's a small dog but he's just out of control sometimes and I told my mom that he would jump up there so you would think she would have carried him up and let us put him in the bathroom like we usually do. He used to sleep with us but he started sneaking out and peeing in the house. He wouldn't even let us know he had to go. Feel so bad she got hurt!
I'm super tired today. I got up early yesterday to start smoking meat (it was amazing) and the lo was up all night grunting and straining, but not pooping. I'm gonna need a nap!
I'm sorry birdhut! Leaving at 3:30 in the morning is so weird to me. I mean the whole situation doesn't make sense but that is just the icing on the cake. I mean you don't have many opportunities to sleep and she picks a time to leave that will wake you up???
Oh microworm that sucks lady. Hopefully you can get a bit of rest today.
We're going to try to see some fireworks today. We won't be going to any of the professional shows because of the crowds and heat, but almost everyone here sets off their own fireworks, so we'll just stay in the neighborhood. I bought DD and DS matching earmuffs. DS hasn't taken his off today!
When should I call the pedi about spit up? We just had an insane projectile vomit episode. It was out her nose and mouth and shot every where. She has been spitting up with almost every feeding but that scared me. Plus it started with her choking. Ugh parenting is hard.
After a party and fireworks, DS couldn't settle until 2. But he made up for it by sleeping for two long stretches, 4 hours and 3 1/2. I only nursed on one side when he woke up the first time, so my other side leaked everywhere. Breastfeeding, so fun!
