First appointment plans/results: Ultrasound and first real appt next Wednesday!
How ya feeling: (Symptoms, cravings, rants, raves, baby names, interesting articles, good buys, other advice) Feeling awful, naseous and dry heaving all day everyday. Things at work that never phased me are making me gag which is making it hard to keep this pregnancy a secret! Sucking on crystalized ginger helps a bit but I'm already counting down to 2nd tri!
Any U/S, bump pics: not yet
Bonus GTKY: If you could go on an all expenses paid babymoon where would you go? Hawaii!! DH and I have been to some awesome tropical locations but Hawaii is next on the list!
First appointment plans/results: had my second US yesterday. Still looking great and a heart rate of 164. Dr told me that they will likely induce at 39 weeks due to my age I'm bummed because my babies have been late arrivals (5 and 7 days late) and I really want to be able to wait. Darn AMA.
I'm getting blood work done next week for the materniT21 test. We'll have the results around 7/21.
How ya feeling: no real symptoms at this point other than total exhaustion. Feeling much better mentally since I'm past all my loss milestones. Yay!!!
Any U/S, bump pics: I don't know how to post using tapa
Bonus GTKY: If you could go on an all expenses paid babymoon where would you go? This is lame, but Bar Harbor/Acadia. Beautiful and relaxing :-)

EDD: 2/24
How many weeks today: 6+6
First appointment plans/results: 7/19 they'll take blood, and 7/29 is the exciting one!
How ya feeling: (Symptoms, cravings, rants, raves, baby names, interesting articles, good buys, other advice) Slight nausea, totally exhausted - I really need to get my butt to bed at a decent hour. But - alone time!
Any U/S, bump pics: nope
Bonus GTKY: If you could go on an all expenses paid babymoon where would you go? Hmmmm maybe England? Some quiet cottage somewhere with a big stack of books and a babysitter for DS so that I wouldn't miss him but wouldn't have to entertain him all day
missi I'll be curious what you hear! I was surprised by my doc. I go to this practice because they are known for low intervention births. My last baby was born when I was 35, technically AMA, but they never mentioned induction.

EDD: Feb 21
How many weeks today: 7+1
First appointment plans/results: last week my RE was a negative nancy about not finding a heartbeat, so just trucking along and back to try again next week. I know my uterus is tilted, so hoping that was the issue.
How ya feeling: (Symptoms, cravings, rants, raves, baby names, interesting articles, good buys, other advice) all the sleepiness, bloating and swollen ankles (seriously already??) luckily the nausea is kept at bay if I eat constantly
Any U/S, bump pics: nope
Bonus GTKY: the post ranch inn in Big Sur -or- a house on Nantucket for a week, my heaven

thebeaches you can refuse an induction! If AMA is the indication I would ask what the specific risks are exactly. I work on delivery and I have NEVER had a patient being induced for AMA. That's ridiculous!
Edited:
I wanted to add that I know that there is a slight, very very slight, risk for still birth after 38 weeks in patients with advanced maternal age. However I would personally do my own research and decide about this early induction. I'd rather have biweekly NSTs or some other more frequent monitoring. Thankfully you have time to think about it all. And you can do whatever you decide is best for you and your baby.
flyinghorses6 thanks! Her reasoning was increased risk of still birth (which scared the shit out of me) but, she also said she thinks all births should be induced at 39 weeks regardless of AMA.. um, what??

Oh boy! She crazy! Babies come out so much easier when they are ready!! Obviously some people have really good reasons to get them out..but I always laugh when I have a "social induction" on a patients due date. Mostly ends in c-section. Where this is your 3rd baby...I bet you will be fine regardless of going naturally or being induced! You'll know what's best when the time comes!

flyinghorses6, I had gained 9 lbs by week 10 with DS. The dr didn't even start tracking my weight until my 12 week appt because apparently I needed those pounds?? I never went back down to my pre pregnancy weight, and so far this time, I'm hovering right where I was when I got BFP.
First appointment was moved to the 20th because they don't see anyone before 10 weeks here.
Feeling crappy. I'm not sleeping well at all. We told our parents over the weekend and instead of being happy my MIL immediately went on this tirade about how dare we and how do I even know I'm pregnant if I haven't had the dr appt yet. I also keep getting these awful cramps that last anywhere from a few seconds to minutes, sometimes in the front but more often in my back. Not pleasant and I really really hope it means nothing. Still getting nauseous if I'm not constantly eating and if I climb stairs or walk too fast I start to have trouble breathing and feel like I'm going to pass out. I wear a fitness tracker and according to it, my heart rate is also skyrocketing when this happens. Kind of annoying and a little bit scary at times.
No pics yet. Still not showing. Just bloat.
GTKY: Definitely somewhere in Europe. Maybe France or Italy.
First appointment plans/results: Had a dating ultrasound last Tuesday that pushed me back 1w1d and baby had a good heartbeat of 122. Next appt is 7/26.
How ya feeling: (Symptoms, cravings, rants, raves, baby names, interesting articles, good buys, other advice) Pretty good overall. Not able to eat as much as I used to otherwise I get nausea. And for the past 2 days my body just seems sore.
Any U/S, bump pics:

puma1315 I thought I had been more detailed oops! She doesn't think we should have another because we both work or something that I'm not even clear on. She didn't really like the idea of us having DD. Don't get me wrong she loves DD dearly but she wasn't happy when we announced that pregnancy either.
ImAPepper - that was totally a WTF 'like'. Seriously... WTAF to your MIL.
I totally get what you mean. It's just like why can't you just be happy? I think he talked to her later because she was much happier for us the next day.
flyinghorses6 thanks! Her reasoning was increased risk of still birth (which scared the shit out of me) but, she also said she thinks all births should be induced at 39 weeks regardless of AMA.. um, what??
I am definitely not a medical expert, but something seems wrong here. I hope you find the right answers for you and baby! Save

Huh.
I can see where two working parents is definitely a reason to not have children.

There was a discussion panel at the recent ACOG (OB/gyn) conference about this and a big topic was inductions at 39 weeks having better outcomes than waiting. It's not an ACOG recommendation ot anything but there was a lot of buzz about it after the conference so it could have come from that.
EDD: Feb 10th - but I'd be induced by 38 weeks if I last that long.
How many weeks today: 8weeks 5 days
First appointment plans/results: was Tuesday. Met with my OB and ended up getting another ultrasound. Back every 2 weeks for U/S and apt with Doctor. (That's gonna get old fast!)
How ya feeling: Better. Not as nauseous and getting more energy back.
Any U/S, bump pics: none on my phone yet.
Bonus GTKY: If you could go on an all expenses paid babymoon where would you go? - PARIS!!! Love love love that city!

ImAPepper, yikes! I'm sorry you got that reaction. I'm sort of LOLing at the "how do you know if you haven't had a doctors appointment" part though. Hasn't she ever heard of pee sticks?
missi I'll be curious what you hear! I was surprised by my doc. I go to this practice because they are known for low intervention births. My last baby was born when I was 35, technically AMA, but they never mentioned induction.
All the responses are interesting.. as to the whole before 39 week thing. I'm 40 now.
I'm not sure how I feel on early inductions.. I was induced three days past my due date with my first because I was progressing without pain. A week early because I was just done with it with the second (which turned out to be a blessing as three days later I was driving my husband to the er for back pain). ... and the twins came at 26w3d.. but that was because my cervix never recovered from severe bleeding.. suspected loss of an undeveloped third.. at 10 week.
Finding out just how much extra the tinys get those last few weeks in utero.. I can't imagine inducing a healthy pregnancy early.
ImAPepper,egads.. I'm so sorry you have to deal with that on top of other worries Due to my age and us having four kids while not being rich I'm dreading telling any family. We're waiting until 12 weeks.. tempted to wait longer.
ImAPepper, I'm sorry your MIL reacted that way. Were your parents excited?? I always wait to tell my own parents good news last because they always react over the top excited for us and it soothes any burns I might have gotten from others.
madam23 my parents reacted about the same as last time especially since DH let it slip before he was supposed to. My mother never really reacts to anything outwardly because she's even more of an introvert than I am. My grandmother was over the top excited and my grandpa was grinning from ear to ear though, so that made up for it.
