I am taking lo to the pedi today about the projectile vomit. Then I have to take the three year old to swim lessons with both of them. I was able to get my hair done and get a pap with lo.
I'm always starving. Literally starving. I have been eating all things I couldn't with GD though. I can't continue too much longer like this but it's fun for now.
I think my bleeding has stopped. I'm still wearing pads because I feel like it's too early to be done but the last 2 days have had nothing. I'm 18 days PP and I swear I bled longer with DD1 but honestly I have no idea.
It's a heat wave here today. I need to run out to the grocery store quickly and to get a key made. Probably need to do that soon before it gets too hot to walk with the LO.
Hope the pedi is helpful today bighair12! And good luck at swim lessons!
Our elevator is broken in our building, so I'm stuck until it's fixed. I don't feel comfortable navigating 14 flights of stairs with a dog and a baby...

We had friends over last night who are in town, so I stayed up way too late and didn't get sleep during any part of baby's longest stretch (4 hours at the beginning of the night). Then he woke up with serious screaming from deep sleep about every hour. Of course H was passed out. 😒
It's been a rough morning. This level of screaming seems to indicate pain, and it makes me so sad for him. Stomach? Gas? I can't do anything, it seems like. One of his eyes also has a bit of discharge and was crusted shut this morning. Could that be bothering him to this extent, causing the screaming? I feel like I'm constantly second-guessing myself.
I'm going to give DS a sponge bath for the first time. He has his newborn photos tomorrow, and his hair looks a little greasy. A friend is coming in a little bit for a visit then my good friends are coming this evening to celebrate my birthday. It's supposed to be 90 here, but I'll probably take a short stroll around the block too- I need to get outside for even a few minutes.
We had our newborn and family pictures taken yesterday. I think it went really well. DD slept through the whole thing and DS was only slightly destructive in the photographer's studio. Thanks to those of you who recommended the Mustela shampoo, DD's hair looks way less greasy.
I brought DS back to daycare today after not having been there since last Thursday. We were both ready for this. I love that kid, but he's exhausting.
Fingers crossed that the bleeding has stopped nymama917. Try to stay cool today!
Sorry for the lack of sleep and all the screaming manybellsdown. My LO has a gunky eye too. I was thinking that it was a tear duct thing. I'm not sure if it's painful or not.

I did the exact same thing last night. I really wanted to spend a little time with DH last night so I didn't go to bed when DS fell asleep... Huge mistake. Turns out that was the longest stretch and he didn't sleep more than an hour or so for the rest of the night. DS also had that crusty eye a couple weeks ago. The pedi office said it was likely a clogged tear duct and to clean it gently and very lightly massage the inner corner of his eye to unclog it. That worked right away for him.
I woke up with a sore throat today. I spend so much time in my house these days, where did I even find germs? I spent the first two weeks of LO's life with a really bad sinus infection, I so don't want to deal with being sick again. I'm hoping it is just a passing thing

manybellsdown I second the clogged tear duct. The pedi said it's very common and usually resolves on its own. I'm not positive, but I don't think it's painful. And like vivela said, a warm cloth to gently wipe away any goop.

I ended up calling because the gunk was so deep yellow/almost green. The doctor's office agrees it's a clogged tear duct. So did google. Unfortunately I mentioned that his eyes are still yellow from mild jaundice, and now they've recommended we go to the lab today for bilirubin levels. I'd rather get it checked out than not, but the worrrryyyyyy.

Ugh, I hate the Bilirubin testing. I hope his numbers are good!
The two week growth spurt is real. LO hit two weeks yesterday and ate every two hours or less and is now a pound over birthweight!!! Last night he cried and DH picked him up and said "I think he's hungry" which is code for you take him I can't make him stop crying. I replied "there's no way I just fed him 45 mins ago." He was right. He ate again.

I'm pretty sure my new catchphrase is "you can't possibly be hungry again already!"

I've given up on trying to figure out a feeding "schedule". I assume that there is always a strong likelihood that my LO will always be hungry - whether it's been 30 min or 4 hours. It doesn't matter. He has 8 weeks to figure this out before he goes to daycare and we really have to know how much and how often he will eat...

My LO has zero schedule as well. Sometimes it's hours sometimes it 30 min. Luckily she's going to my mom when I go back to work in 5 weeks so I don't need to figure anything out.

It's pretty much eat, cry, or doze today. There is no "feeding" it's just snack and snooze. And it's hot. I'm hanging out in a bra until my ILs come back with DD1.
Thanks vivela, carolinaheart, & babyzebra!! I'm suppose to call tonight at 6pm and they'll probably have me come in to L&D at 8pm. Can't believe I'm going to be a mom!!
