graciest719 sorry about the kiddos. Good luck at bed time tonight. How is max a month old already?
E had diarrhea last night and this morning. Not sure if from teeth or the accident. I found a new car seat I like and it's a 4 in 1 so it goes higher for weight but it is a pre-order and won't be out for another month. Have to keep searching. Waiting for a phone call today to find out where I can take the car and about getting a new seat.
graciest719 yes insurance will cover it (his insurance) I am just not sure if they give me the money 1st or I buy and submit something to be reimbursed.

For the first time since H became a police officer, I was scared for him last night. I couldn't sleep. I felt like I was holding my breath and I was constantly praying that he would come home. What happened in Dallas is terrifying for me. We don't live in a bad community, but H does work in a rough part of the city. He's had a gun pulled on him more than once. I can't even imagine what those families are going through.
We leave for vacation tomorrow and it couldn't come at a better time. I will probably hold my breath through his shift tonight. Why is violence the method our country is using to combat these issues? I'm honestly scared for N to grow up in this world.
@megaugust10 is it necessary to get a new seat after a minor fender bender (I think you said there wasn't even any damage) portuguesemama I can't imagine. I have no words really... TheTuna15 love tit for commiseration.
@megaugust10 How hard of a hit does a car have to take to need a new car seat? I thought there was no damage to the car? I'm not sure a fender bender would mean a new car seat, but I guess I need to do some research on the matter.
For the first time since I became a mom I could care less how they slept, ate, etc. I am scared to death at the state of our country and the kind of world I brought my kids into. It's being said everywhere, enough is enough, but what can we do?!!! I'm terrified.
Morning! M is in a super-duper mommy phase right now. Not sure what changed, but she suddenly wants to be in my pocket, as rvamama would say! I am soaking up all the snuggles before she switches back to dad.
We are going to our township's carnival tonight. Food and fireworks! Woot! We're hoping M will make it to the fireworks. We shall see. It'll be well past her bedtime. As long as she stays busy and interested, I think we'll be OK. Any downtime will result in a meltdown. FX!
So I'll just be over here, counting down the hours until carnival food.
malvo, rvamama there are a few scratches externally on the car. I have seen before if a carseat is in am accident no matter how minor it should be replaced. If the seat has something underneath that gets messed up in the accident it won't be as safe if there is a other accident. If insurance funds out the seat was in an accident if e gets hurt they won't cover any of her medical costs because the seat may have been damaged in the original accident.
graciest719, hope all the poop troubles balance out! Maybe try a belly massage? Happy 1 month birthday to M!
portuguesemama, I hate that you have to feel that way. I'm sorry. I can barely read news stories anymore and I could not imagine having to worry about my husband. Hope y'all have an awesome vacation and it calms your worries a bit.
TheTuna15, you're almost there! Ahhh! I can't wait to see the squishy baby!
Made it to Friday. Nothing exciting going on. Well, I guess we are getting a kitten this weekend?? Not because of me OR the kid (not that she could even ask yet, haha), this is all MH. Dude loves cats. I don't mind, two cats is fine. He'd probably have 10 if I let him, though. As long as it can poop in a box and not destroy the place!
Chat with my boss yesterday went okay. I tried to be honest without saying, "I HATE BEING HERE." I did let him know some things that bother me, so that was good. Business-related things, not necessarily my personal issues. But, I honestly don't see any changes happening. I did say I'd love to have a more flexible schedule (like, the option to work 4 long days vs. the normal 5) or the ability to telecommute, but I doubt that will ever happen. We're so ancient with our policies. Sigh.
rvamama, I work in HR. My main role is developing & designing web-based training programs. For a state government agency that doesn't believe web-based training is effective. Needless to say, I don't do much actual work.
portuguesemama, praying for your H and you today! I can't imagine how scary things are for you right now. I was up at 3 with A. I was slightly irritated but when I turned on the tv all I could do was stare at my sweet baby who was quietly nursing after hearing about Dallas. I sat for 2 hours just holding her in the peace of the moment.
ladymike KITTY!!!! So jealous of your new family member. I, too, would have many cats. But SO isn't a fan and hates the two cats we already have. The second cat almost caused a permanent break up. lol.
I am going to my old office today when I finish at my new job at 1. They need me to help the new girl with a few things. They never got back to me on how much they'll pay me for my time... It better be worth my while. If not, I will definitely be outta there no stop returning calls and texts asking for my help!

I enjoy the low maintenance aspect of cats.. and I like that they just lay in your lap quietly. MH installed 3 cat doors in various walls around the house so they can go to and fro freely. He's a crazy cat man!
