I like the format of TCF also and plan on staying. My issue is that I don't want to post pictures of my kids on this public board. I'll post them in the private board and in our small FB group, but not on here. So I would like it if we moved everything to the private board, but I'll stay regardless.
+1. I have residual stranger danger from an incident on my old BMB.
if you don't mind sharing, what happened? I went back and forth but decided to join FB too. I still check here though but 2 kids make it tough for me to always reply but I always read.
I have been terrible too! Sorry!! I check FB a lot because I live out of state from my family so I like to keep up with them that way and I am also a part of some mom exchange groups here in town so I check those as well. I've been terrible about coming to check on here.
This week has been so crazy! My first full week by myself and it kicked my butt for sure! I am feeling a tad bit less overwhelmed when we go places but it's still so much harder with 2.
Also DD will not stop saying I need a snuggle and a kiss and put her down a million times just as I pick DD2 up. In her defense DD2 has been a bit of a grump pants lately and won't let anyone else hold her even when others are around. She also won't let me put her down for longer than 5 minutes. What happened to my very laid back girl?! I feel terrible for DD and yesterday I even yelled at her because she wanted my attention and kept waking DD2 up. The poor thing hung her head heart broken and cried. I felt so terrible!! I gave her lots of snuggles after I finally was able to put DD2 down and told her I was sorry. She's really put up with a lot and been really good about playing on her own more and not having as much attention from me and then I go and yell at her 😔 she's 2 and I am just expecting too much from her. Anyway, today we had a surprise visit from DHs parents. His dad brought their riding lawn mower which was such a blessing for DH because he was exhausted and it takes 2-3 hours to mow our lawn pushing it. His mom played with DD and I was able to get my Sunday school lessons done and the bathroom cleaned yay!

birdhut I could have written your third paragraph. DS is always putting his arms up for me to hold him, DD is also a grump and won't even let DH hold her. Two kids is no joke.
birdhut - I'm in the same boat with DD1. She's 2.5 and good most of the time that now I expect too much. She's still a kid and testing her limits but when her sister is screaming or eating or sleeping i get stressed and yell. Uch hard stuff!

Someone on a board long ago had someone call her boss and said she was on the boards while at work and tried to get her fired , and posted her address, name, and more personal and professional info.

Three weeks and the honeymoon is over. Last night ds1 said "we got the worst baby. He cries all the time". Which is hilarious as ds2 is a pretty mellow baby compared to ds1 and ds1 is infatuated with him. He had literally cried maybe 30 seconds before DS1 made his declaration.

Yikes! Crazy people. Thanks for sharing. I totally understand people's hesitation. I'm not big on pictures on the regular board because of that.

I'm sorry that happened on your other group. I don't think (hope) any of us have time, nor would they want to do anything malicious. I like Facebook and I like all of you. Maybe I'm too trustworthy :/ I still check on here once a day. I like Facebook because you can respond directly to a post. I have questioned what I should post to fb and what to the boards... I lean towards fb, but We won't let this board die.
My sister in law left today after 8 days at my house. I entertained her the entire time. I'm so happy to have my space back, alone time with ds2 and for someone not to be staring at me while breastfeeding. It was nice to have another set of hands with the boys but 8 days is way too long especially since dh was working the whole time.
We went to a French festival this afternoon with friends then went to my neighbors for a bonfire. We let ds1 stay up late and he got to see fireflys for the first time. His bedtime is 7:30 typically and he didn't go to bed till 10. He actually was the one who initiated leaving "mama. I want to go home. It's dark and I want a bath." You got it sweetheart!
I prefer the boards over Facebook, not as much because of privacy but more because I'm trying to get away from using Facebook in general. I love having the private board as an option for posting photos.
This weekend DH and I spontaneously decided to pack up the dog and babe and head 3.5 hrs up north to his parents' cottage. It's been amazing to get away, so relaxing. It's freeing to realize we can still do this kind of thing with the baby, turns out she's very portable lol.
Maybe I'm naive and just think we have the best board ever with the most mature, educated and supportive ladies...I can't imagine anything like that happening, but I totally understand hesitation. I'm a fan of private board or FB, but I don't want this board to die.
My kid just slept for 6 hours! Unfortunately I only slept for 2.5 of them because we were watching a movie. She never does this. I even tried to wake her to feed during the end of the movie becuse she usually wakes up when we move her to the bedroom but she didn't this time. Really bummed I didn't get to take advantage of the long stretch but on that note the movie was really good. We watched was Straight Outta Compton (HBO movie of the week). If you liked wrap in the 90s and know these guys it was a really good movie!

This sounds like so much fun! And it gives me hope!
I just woke up DS to eat as My chest was about to explode and it had been 4.5 hours since he ate. He was sleeping so well but I was in so much pain!!! Praying he goes back to sleep easily now.
$65?! Send them to NC when they're done, txmommy14! Also, I drive a truck that doesn't have backseat A/C and the sweatiness baby alive. We bought a $20 fan that plugs into the lighter and suctions to the back window and it. Is. Amazing. She is soooo much happier. Idk how soon you're getting your van but that could help in the meantime.
So glad to hear y'all have gotten the hang of it GOmamab15!

That's the worst! I'm so over being hyper aware of my boobs. Fx he went back to sleep!
nymama917 the same thing happened to us last night... We did not take proper advantage of her long sleep cause she went down earlier then usual! We were watching Stranger Things on Netflix which was addicting!

This thing is seriously the best. It is strong! I put it off to the side so if if were to unstick (which I doubt it will) it won't fall in her lap and I can still see her little bows flap in the breeze. She's a much happier baby in the car now.
SIL is visiting us from out of state for the weekend and we planned a family get together at a local restaurant yesterday evening. FIL and his GF live about 2 hours away and were traveling to come to this dinner. BIL, who has many many personal problems (drugs, can't keep a job, etc), is currently living with FIL to "get back on his feet."
Well, yesterday when we were eating breakfast SIL texted FIL to see when they would be heading this way. FIL replied back that they would be leaving soon and that him and his GF would be getting a hotel and he figured that BIL could just stay the night at our place. Umm..no. I shut that shit down real quickly.
1. You don't invite someone to stay the night at someone else's house. 2. Especially when that person is unstable and does drugs 3. Especially x2 when those people have a newborn and another young child 4. Especially x3 when you don't even tell the "hosts" and just casually mention this to a third party

Not Baby Related:
HAPPY NATIONAL ICE CREAM DAY!!!
I plan on indulging in this holiday heavily after DS goes down for his nap because he's being a little shit today. I can't even nurse DD without him destroying something or trying to hurt DD or myself.

LO went back to sleep thankfully but holy breast pain. Geez. I got up at 5am to pump to try to relieve some pain to little avail. I've resorted to ibuprofen now. But it was my first pump for this baby and I got 5 oz! Looks like we can try that bottle now!

Good luck! Let me know how it goes. We're about to try for our second bottle when she wakes up. The first one was a huge failure. Haha
