The swiffer commercial with the very loud doorbell sound is my daytime TV mortal enemy. My dog hears it in the deepest of sleep,* goes nuts, runs to the door, barks. And barks. Today it happened during a nap. I've never shh'd and moved so fast to calm him.
*ps. - regularly jealous of my dog
I'd say let him bark, the sooner your kid learns to sleep through dog barks the better.
oh yes, both kids are used to the bark--at least the toddler is, and the baby is new enough. But the dog will just keep going and going for a doorbell. Even though it wasn't our doorbell (shakes fist at swiffer!). Can't risk it when napping is so hard to come by.
amiet79, this is us, it sucks I'm sorry you are going through it.
She is also almost constantly fussy during waking times even after getting a good sleep. I've noticed some other digestive things so I actually just called my Pediatrician about silent reflux.
What kind of things have you noticed? Also paging. birdhut - what did you notice to call about reflux? P has been spitting a lot lately which I know is normal. But she is also mad mad at my boobs sometimes in the evenings especially and gags sometimes. I can't feel letdown but sometimes I think it's that. But then she gets all worked up and never recovers. So I'm trying to determine if it's just witching hour fussy baby or something more. She's much better in mornings which makes me think it's nothing. But my wife only sees her in the evenings and seems to think all she does is cry and nurse and cry again.
In short- signs reflux is more than normal?
Sorry just getting back to you! DD1 had it too and with her she would spit up and it would shoot across the room. She also arched a lot and cried when she ate. With DD2 it wasn't as easy to tell. I got concerned when she just completely changed and was arching and gagging in her sleep. She couldn't be laid flat without gagging and she started screaming when milk would come out like something hurt. I thought maybe it was my let down but even when I would pull it out and squeeze some out until it slowed she was still upset. It was affecting sleep a lot with the gagging. After 3 doses it was like night and day with a lot of that stuff. We still struggle a little I think mostly because it's hard to give her the medicine and she spits some out and a couple times I forgot and gave it to her after she ate and she spit it all up then she's pretty cranky due to not having much medicine. I think it would be worth mentioning but I tried to be very maybe it's this or that with the doctor so I wasn't diagnosing and he could tell me what he thought.
