My random: I've been reading the blinds thread on Parenting and I can't keep up! I'm perpetually 25-30 pages behind. But it's just too good to give up.
DS takes forever to get back to sleep! I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if that is just his style. We are getting some nice long stretches at night, but going 11-4 and then having to stay up until 7 is rough.
In related news... What is your burping method? When I'm burping DS, sometimes I can actually hear the bubbles moving around, but no burp. Then he is gassy and won't sleep. I usually sit him up in my lap, put his chin in my hand, and alternate light thumping with the heel of my hand up his spine and rubbing his back. This used to work, and he actually found it soothing and he'd go to sleep while I was doing it. No more, now it is flailing around and no burps.

I can't go back into that thread! I'm too far behind and I can get sucked in for hours!
I don't feel well today (upset stomach). This is the first time I've been sick while on maternity leave. Tending to LO when I don't feel well is rough. DH couldn't call out of work today. I'm dying for a nap. I just want to sleep. But LO doesn't seem to be on the same page.

oh man, I'm sorry, that method is my gold standard for burping. Sometimes I just hold him upright on my chest and pat his back, but that doesn't seem to work as well as your method for him.

I pop into random pages to see what I can catch! It is too good!

Me too!! I also love UO and FFC over there too. Keeps me so entertained while we are nursing but I'm always way too far behind to actually participate.

I do 2 different types of burping. One is what you described by sitting her up and holding onto her chin. I also will put her up by my shoulder and burp her. DH thinks I burp too rough. I disagree. I almost always get a good burp out of her and the shoulder burping is one of the best ways to get her to fall asleep.
DD has decided that she is clearly in the camp of baths=bad and tummy time=good. Apparently her first bath experience was a fluke.
This is the 3rd night this week that DS has leaked pee out of his pull up at night. Have any of y'all used the night-specific pull ups that are supposed to be more absorbent?
I don't know if any of you guys are interested in politics, but I was watching the RNC last night and I can't stop laughing about Ted Cruz's speech. I definitely don't like the guy but he proved he has some big cajones!

I know! It's sort of fun watching someone just decide to burn. it. down.

The only thing that would have made it better is if he would have walked off stage with both middle fingers in the air. I really hope SNL or one of the other comedians does something with this.
Well we had a projectile vomit situation- all over baby and me. DS was getting a bath anyway today, we just moved it up a bit. I'm in our bedroom watching Boardwalk Empire. I need to get some ingredients for a cupcake order at some point today. I'm looking forward to watching Trump's speech tonight- it should be entertaining.
manybellsdown I read a bunch of stuff over on parenting too, but haven't opened that thread yet. Maybe I should?
I mean, I've certainly found it worth my time, but you might need to leave a dedicated browser window open for it at this point! It's over 230 pages. Celeb gossip and funny comments and gifs
babyzebra night time pull-ups worked for us for that same issue...I think I sized up too.
I got my hair chopped this morning. I hadn't had it cut for a year, and even the I cut it. I trimmed my bangs regularly. I bet I got 7 or 8 inches cut off. It's above my shoulders and feels amazing. I took baby with and wore her in the k'tan, she slept the whole time.
DH is in Montreal tonight, so I may take the kiddos out for dinner...
A changing table with a hose attachment would have come in super handy today...
I'm a little disappointed to hear this. I was hoping our diaper misadventures were mostly due to his being a boy, and that any future girl wouldn't, you know, pee all over everything. At least not as effectively.

She is super efficient at getting everything everywhere!

My girl has had about 10x the rate of diaper misadventures as my boy ever did. She pees and/or poops during almost every diaper change. I was very surprised about this super power of hers because I also thought it was more of a boy thing.
