I haven't been paying much attention to C's teeth since she's had them all since spring, but tonight I just so happened to get a close, quick look. I'm pretty sure she's got a 3rd molar coming in on the bottom on both sides. She doesn't have a dentist appointment (her first) until the end of September... Now I'm debating moving it up.
Anyone know of this happening to other LOs? I'm so curious now and secretly wish I'd never noticed so I wouldn't have to fret about it.
Your post made me curious so I did some googling. Of course it's Google, so take it with a grain of salt. But apparently it's not completely unheard of to get the first adult molars before losing any baby teeth. It seems uncommon for someone as young as our LO's to have them, but I would guess that that's all it is and she's totally fine. Unless it seems to be really bothering her or crowding her other teeth out of place, I'd say you can wait until her scheduled dentist appointment.

@slmck that would be awesome, thanks!
aaemommy of course I did the same and I just can't believe that she's got 6 year molars! They don't seem to be bothering her, so I'm just going to wait until her appointment.
My sister had an extra permanent tooth. It was a problem because it was in front, and it pinned her other front teeth in from being able to descend after her baby teeth fell out. She had to have braces/a chain to pull her tooth down after they cut the other tooth out. Obviously your situation is very different, but extra teeth do exist. Crazy that she has those molars though. My DS doesn't even have his 2 year molars yet, and I am not really expecting them anytime soon.
