We just stick her head under the sink, it's so easy I have no idea why we didn't think to do that with DS. She loves it!!
That's what we do too, making sure not to get her face wet with the running water. I can hold her one handed with her belly on my forearm while holding on to her chin to support her head. The leaves the other hand to wash her hair. She's small so that works for now.
Some days I just wash hair...I use my peri bottle. Other days she takes a shower with me. She loves the steamy bathroom and is so calm. She's never actually had a bath. She doesn't get directly sprayed by the shower. I deflect it or cup or onto her with my hand. Here she is freshly showered.
DS is back up to birth weight, plus an ounce. I'm happy that my breastmilk is working to sustain him! I thought this would be the case because his cheeks have really filled out but I was still a little worried that they would suggest we go back to supplementing with formula. Not that there is anything wrong with formula -- but I just want to know that I can breastfeed alone and feed him enough, mostly for my ego and because it makes me feel like I'm successfully in control of something.
I've been in and out of hospital with an infection. At first they thought it was an infection in my uterus, but it's actually an abscess/infected hematoma between my C section incision on my abdomen and my uterus along my abdomen wall. I think we've finally got the fever under control and they let me out of the hospital with a PICC line where I can get the IV antibiotics at a clinic, the nurses at the clinic are teaching me how to administer the antibiotics and flush the PICC line myself which will be a big help. I really didn't think I'd be looking at a post op infection 6 weeks (now 7 weeks) postpartum. It's been ridiculous.
Thankfully the antibiotics are safe for DS though they do seem to upset his digestion a bit, I'm hoping the probiotics I'm giving him help.
Oh cattuccino I'm so sorry!!! That is so horrible and really scary! You have been through so much! How long do you have to have the PICC line? Now that your fever is under control how are you feeling? Glad the antibiotics are safe and hopefully probiotics with help your DS.
cattuccino I'm so sorry you've been going through this. I'm glad you're going home, but having to deal with a PICC line is a big deal, especially when you have a newborn to care for. You're in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you recover soon.

Oh my gosh!!!!!! I'm SO sorry. I can't believe you're having to go through that, that sounds terrible.
I was on antibiotics for such a long time because of mastitis, and I think they really hurt DD's stomach. However, she has done so much better since being put on probiotics, so I hope that is helpful for you guys also!
The stars have aligned-my toddler is still sleeping at 9am and DD had a great night also.
We have no plans today except to do a few things around the house and take our cars in for oil changes and some maintenance, so I'm excited about that! We've been so busy lately it's nice to just hang out together!
cattuccino I am so sorry! I have been there. That was my life after my first kiddo. I had my PICC line for 6 weeks post. Probiotics for both you and the kiddo will hopefully help with stomach stuff. Don't hesitate to PM me if you want to talk. Being sick after baby is the absolute worst.
MH took DD1 to the zoo with a friend this morning to run a race. I am currently nursing then headed out for a run. Then we are all meeting up to go to a local pond to watch a mom friend finish a small triathlon and let the girls swim around!
Those of you who use a probiotic, which do you use and how much do you give? My pedi recommended Culturelle and I bought the box for kids, but the dosage amount on the box says the serving size is 1 packet for kids 1 year and above. We've been giving her a half packet a day mixed in with a bottle of milk. Culturelle doesn't make a probiotic just for infants.

We were told to get this brand called BioGaia (or something like that, I think I spelled it wrong). There is an infant one and she gets 5 drops a day. We got it at Walgreens!
I'm getting my stuff ready for starting back to work on Monday. My scrubs that I wore until about 28 weeks don't fit at all. Luckily, I also have men's scrubs that I can wear. I'm not ready for this and it's stressing me out.

The toddler in my nanny share with DD has hand foot and mouth. It started with a fever on Thursday (and he stayed home), and he has the rash now. DD has been intensely irritable all day (another story!) and now has a fever.
I am displeased and, frankly, freaking out. Especially about E getting it. Plus we're supposed to go on vacation to see lots of family (with lots of LOs!) on Wednesday.
txmommy14, did your daughter ever get it? I feel like no. Other than all the hand washing, how did you prevent?

((Hugs)) @cattucino that sounds miserable. Hope you're feeling better soon
babyzebra that's awful. I'll be going back next week and I'm also so not ready.
My family gets in late tonight! I'm excited to see them but feel like it's going to be kind of exhausting. Plus DD2 tends to get kind of overtired and cranky when we mess with her schedule
