The toddler in my nanny share with DD has hand foot and mouth. It started with a fever on Thursday (and he stayed home), and he has the rash now. DD has been intensely irritable all day (another story!) and now has a fever.
I am displeased and, frankly, freaking out. Especially about E getting it. Plus we're supposed to go on vacation to see lots of family (with lots of LOs!) on Wednesday.
txmommy14, did your daughter ever get it? I feel like no. Other than all the hand washing, how did you prevent?
I'm so sorry! Lots of Washing and we kept them separated as much as possible and didn't let him kiss her. She never got it!
I'm getting my stuff ready for starting back to work on Monday. My scrubs that I wore until about 28 weeks don't fit at all. Luckily, I also have men's scrubs that I can wear. I'm not ready for this and it's stressing me out.
Ugh, already?!?! That makes me so sad for you. I'm sorry!!
babyzebra I'm hoping the remainder of your weekend is relaxing and that you have a good first week back. I totally understand the concern over not being able to fit your old clothing/uniform yet.
Last night I fell asleep on the couch and LO in his bassinet next to the couch. DH left us to sleep when he went to bed. I'm sure he meant well but now I have a stiff neck and I can't look left.

Thanks! DD officially has it, with the rash appearing this morning. Keeping them separate and just hoping at this point.
Sorry to hear that manybellsdown. When DS had it, his pedi said that they're not really contagious for that long, so hopefully you can still go on your trip. Big hugs for you and your DD.
6 week growth spurt... How long did it last? I haven't slept in a week and I'm dying. Also my husbands best friend from high school was in town last night and they went out till 2, dh woke up at 11am and is in rough condition so I'm parenting solo while exhausted. Is it the weekend yet? Oh wait.

Ugh. So sorry. It lasted about 1.5 weeks for us, but her unhappiness could have been attributed to the antibiotics I was on for mastitis also.

I think it was just over a week for us, so FX you are almost thru it! And sorry for the solo parenting today
We too DS to his cousin's 3rd birthday party at his grandparents house today. He did good and I was mostly okay. Glad to be home relaxing on my own couch now though!

Ours was a little early (closer to 4 weeks) and only lasted 2 days. Hopefully it's over soon!

Thanks all! We are still planning to go on the trip, as she shouldn't be contagious by then. The worst period of contagiousness should be over, but basically we watch E and hope he doesn't get a fever (which would require a trip to the ER). Our doc said that newborns don't often get it, so I'm trying to stay positive.
The hardest part right now is not being able to cuddle and comfort DD like I'd like. H and I decided he would primarily take care of her, and I'd take care of E, for a day or two, depending on her fever. Sometimes she asks me to pick her up, or she just looks sick/unhappy and I want to hug her so badly, and it's a bit heartbreaking.
