I'm so sorry to hear this. My LO didn't show blood in her diapers even though it can be microscopic and only exhibited a couple of the symptoms of allergy/intolerance so my pedi was reluctant to say milk protein allergy/intolerance. She switched us to soy but after reading about the lack of research on plant based proteins for babies I moved to the milk free/soy free formula and she has done much better and is gaining weight again and no more GI issues.
Have you tried any food eliminations if you're BFing or a non-milk based formula if you're formula feeding just to see what happens?
I am BF'ing and did dairy elimination with little or no results. I don't do much dairy anyway since I am lactose intolerant and drink almond monk, don't really like ice cream, etc. I got a 2d opinion from a pedi who suggested eliminating wheat and a bunch of other things, but my kid is gaining weight like a fiend and I can't say he ONLY cries after eating because thats not true at all.
I'm confused, frustrated, etc. I'm hoping we get some ideas tomorrow.
Good luck! Hopefully the specialist will have seen it before and have some better ideas on how to make the crying stop. Keep us posted.
So Isla is 11 weeks old and is such a sweetie! A handful for sure but so very much the love of my life! She is a whopping 7 lbs 10oz and doesn't even get onto the charts percentile wise......but she meets all her milestones so she is thriving. I just have myself an itty bitty teeny tiny baby! Still fits in her newborn clothes and diapers. When people see her they are surprised at how old she is. They expect me to say she is just a few weeks. lol.
My in laws are smitten. My big ol grouchy 6'4" very large FIL was late to work yesterday cause he couldn't bare to put his baby granddaughter down as she was cooing and smiling at him and reaching for his face and goatee. My MIL has actually said to us "Thank you for having her" To say this baby is loved is an understatement. She is their first grand baby and you can tell. LOL. Her uncle (H's brother) also goes out of his way to love on her and talk to her and asks for photos. She looks a lot like him and I think he thinks thats just the best thing ever lol. My family is in love with her too. This little one has brought so much joy to pour families....who knew!!
Im having a hard time in the keeping it all together department.....my house is a little messy almost all the time and I have a hard time with that......but little Miss Isla is a handful and when she isn't and she is happy I don't want to put her down.......I love her smiles and coos and she loves when i talk/sing and play with her.
I still can't get over the fact that i am officially 40 years old (as of today) with a new baby. And to think I am sad I am not having any more. I must be nuts.
