I want to hear your randoms! I figured we could have a weekly thread since things seem to be a little slower around here. What's been going on with everyone?

Not baby related-
I am hosting a bridal shower brunch for my sister. We are planning on breakfasty foods. For sweet stuff I am planning donuts/donut holes and the chocolate fountain. Question- do you think I need to also have some sort of cake?

My day has consisted of nursing hourly since 5am with just 2 slightly longer breaks where he slept or DH had him so it wasn't quite hourly. He can't be this hungry, it must just be comfort nursing. He's growing a lot though so maybe he is a hungry hungry hippo. Nearly outgrown newborn clothes at 3 weeks!
DH was away from the house for 3 hours, my longest solo stretch. He nursed for all but ~20 minutes of the solo time. SIL & BIL came over to see the baby and he had been eating constantly before they got here, but still cried when they held him until I took him to nurse.

I think that would be enough sweets, but I also like the suggestion of cupcakes.
woodengirl07 - I think it's enough sweets but cupcakes or another sweet type dessert would be fine too. Is there any food they is sweet? French toast, pancakes with syrup, cinnamon rolls? Those are all possibilities too.
I'm going to gain 100lbs. My pedi suggested keeping DD upright after feeds for 30 minutes. To accomplish this I have been going to the living room to feed and watching TV. It's still hard to stsy up though so I snack. Always wanting something sweet. So I'm sitting here eating graham crackers and chocolate chips.
I also have a cluster feeder in the evenings. She's eating every hour or less between 5/6 to 9/10. I'm glad it's not all day but it's exhausting in itself!
My notifications aren't working either! Tapatalk get it together!!
Oh man GOmamab15 it can be so hard when they are having one of their hungry hippo days!
woodengirl07 love the theme! what about chocolate chip muffins (or different kinds of muffins ) they are like cupcakes but still in breakfast theme! Or if you want a cake you could do a coffee cake!
nymama917 I'm going to agree with mladerri and say the calories are definitely being offset!
I'm exhausted, the kids were up at 1:30, 3:30 and 5:30. We had the AC on so I think they were cold. At least I got 4 hours of sleep during the beginning of he night 😴

oh that is so rough! Do they usually both wake up at the same time? Or do they alternate? Hopefully you can get a bit of rest today!
This is the first time in forever that I have been on the computer instead of tapatalk and I'm totally feeling like a rockstar with a platinum trophy next to my name
For the first 7 weeks of this baby prior to starting her on Zantac I was so stressed and she was so difficult that I completely lost my appetite and didn't really have time to eat because I couldn't ever put her down. Now that she's doing so much better my appetite has returned and she will tolerate reasonable awake stretches on her own so I have to actually start watching what I eat (not easy being at home all day) and exercising especially since wanted to go back to work shopping this month and will be in a wedding next month.
I've lost my pregnancy sweet tooth but I attribute that to trading sweets off with wine now.
I'm debating a short overnight trip to the beach boardwalk in a few weeks. Pros: we get a needed getaway, DS can go in a swimming pool, we have a base for the baby for mid day,we can stay out later and not have to worry about a long drive home after a long day. Cons: more stuff to pack, all of us in the same room at night, $300 for one night in a hotel.
It is hot and smoky here. Running with the stroller is freaking hard and I forgot that. MH has hip surgery on Thursday and I will be pretty much single parenting it for the next month.

oh no! I'm so sorry YH has to have surgery! Is there anyone that can come and help? At least in the beginning?

Yikes, good luck bighair, hopefully everything goes smoothly with the surgery!

I've been getting them both up to feed (one right after the other). I think my son would sleep much longer but I don't want to attempt to not wake him up in case they get too out of sync. This weekend we had a 7 hour stretch from both of them so I can see a glimpse of sleeping through the night in the not so distant future... Hopefully!
csat (or anyone with experience) what symptoms did your LO have that made you/doc decide to use Zantac?
Her symptoms were consistent with Silent Reflux, so all of the things you might see with reflux minus the excessive spitting up, she actually doesn't ever spit up. So arching back kind of violently whilst eating like in pain, getting upset and refusing to eat even when you know they should be hungry, eating less, excessive fussiness and irritability throughout the day (not just witching hour), lots of hiccups, choking while eating, very wet burps. Also she didn't like any kind of position which would put her on her back or cradle.
Are you noticing some issues? Essentially they try the Zantac for a month to see if there are any improvements. We noticed improvements almost right away which is similar to the experience of others I've talked to who had babies with reflux.
C had her 2 month shots today. She did pretty well but she's been cranky ever since. I feel bad because I realize her leg might be sore for a few days. I'm trying to console her as best possible.
Doctor said she's developing a bit of a flat head on one side. She definitely has a preference for her right side and has turned her head/neck in that direction since birth. Pedi thinks she was laying that way in the womb and developed a preference. I've been instructed to direct her towards the other side, but that's easier said than done. She moves her head right back when I turn her neck to the left. I feel like I have a month to break this habit before she starts daycare because I don't trust that the daycare providers will spend the day correcting her position (though I could be wrong).

We don't have any eating issues (she love eating, lol) but she does have some of those issues - hiccups multiple times a day, wet burps, choking while eating, fussing/refusal to be put down most of the day. The doctor already put her in the AR formula (I'm supplementing) but I'm wondering if something else might help or if that's just her.

bgkc4 is the flat spot noticeable to you? L definitely has a preference for her left side and like you, I try to reposition her and she's like "lolno" and goes right back. I don't see a spot but I'm still nervous.
woodengirl07, DD is also on Alimentum formula. Definitely something to keep an eye on. When I was researching stuff about reflux online it also mentioned that some babies with reflux (silent or regular) do the opposite and eat a lot because they aren't in pain while they are eating, but are when they stop. I'm pretty sure my DS had the same thing and he was a big eater so that never raised a red flag.
I'm So sorry it hasbeen rough, the all day fussiness is so incredibly hard. While my DD's poor eating issues are what eventually got me to the Pediatrician with my concerns and are what probably prompted a quicker prescription for Zantac, her excessive fussiness and irritability even after great sleep, everything else taken care of etc, was what really made me think something was wrong.
It's so hard to know what might be bothering them whether it's just normal crankiness or something more.
