Hope everyone is having a good Saturday!
Spending the day watching Olympics and playing with baby stuff! Already put together the Rock N Play and got the car seat out of the box. Swing is next!
Really need to start baby shower thank you notes today too. Hoping to get those done this weekend.

Do I need to be washing everything that I bought/received brand new? Like the Rock N Play - the instructions say the cover and pad are machine washable. Should I be washing things like that before using them?

I want to say no. But I've honestly never thought of that before so I don't know. If you want to be on the safe side then I'd say yes. But, I know with clothes you wash them to get rid of any excess chemicals that could bother babies skin and cause a reaction, technically any fabric would follow the same but unless you plan on putting baby in then buck naked to begin with I don't think it's a necessity.

AFM I'm just hanging out at home for now. I have some sewing todo but thats it really. When DH gets out of work we'll be taking a dresser and a ton of blankets amd things we don't use to his parents after that the hospital. Im hoping to get out to the fabric store this weekend so I can make some burp cloths or bibs for my friends baby shower but we'll see.

Our nursery is 99% of the way done! Still have to put his name on the wall, but we're not telling anyone until he's born, so we'll wait til he's here to put that up. As much as it pains me to wait. Here's my AW (and I'm using tapatalk so they'll be huge, sorry!):

Thanks ladies.
Good point about not putting baby in the RNP etc naked lovetruly2015! Definitely washing all his clothes which will be between him and whatever he's sitting in.

annapunkalunka, your nursery looks so good! And so much more put together than mine does!
LadyNymeria, I'm super lazy and didn't wash any of my new baby clothes/items. If I bought used clothes, I threw them in the wash. I think with the Rock N Play you'll be fine.
It is so sticky humid today. I'm just praying that it's not so hot tomorrow for DD's birthday party at the park. She'll have a blast either way but I might die.
I'm driving H crazy working on ours today since the windows went in yesterday. I made him spackle and have painted, cleaned, hung pictures, and moved in the rug. I'm impatiently waiting for him to put the crib up. He just laughed at me and asked if the baby was coming tonight or something.

I'm looking for a new home right now... I've told y'all we are moving by the end of the month right?? Well we still don't have a place yet and DH left town on Thursday, will be back tomorrow and then has to leave again next week. I'm hoping we can find something on Monday or Tuesday so I can get movers scheduled and start transferring everything to the new address.
I'm super excited to nest in a new home, but if I don't find a place soon, I'm afraid the stress of hunting will put me into labor ha ha!
My sprinkle was today and it was so nice! Tomorrow we're going to the fair and I'm so excited to eat yummy food! DH and I are still trying to decide if we're going to bring DS or drop him off at my mom's.

Your nursery looks great, annapunkalunka! Like PPs, I usually only wash clothes, blankets, etc, not gear (until it inevitably gets spit up or poop on it somewhere down the line, haha), LadyNymeria.
I just put chocolate chip muffins in the oven so I'm awaiting those for breakfast. No one else is up yet so I'm enjoying coffee in solitude while I can. I'm planning to do some work in the nursery today and I have a sisters date at my younger sister's new apartment this afternoon. It's hard to get motivated to do anything when I just want to sit and watch the Olympics all day!
Nursery is all done except for something over the crib. Might do a picture of our family cottage since that was loosely our theme. Plus all the navy/raspberry stuff leftover from DD's nursery. The only thing we bought new were the trees decals. Sorry #2.
You ladies are motivating me to get started over here. I'm going to have my H haul up our newborn clothes from the basement so I can sort and organize and then maybe I'll order some prints.
I'm so excited for the fair today. We're going to bring DS and have my mom come and get him if he gets crazy. She lives up the street from the fairgrounds, score!

CVS couldn't do my TDAP shot. They didn't have anyone trained in store. WTF is the point in letting me make an appointment then not having someone there to do it!!! So annoyed.
fem, Love it! We're looking to do something similar with the trees, etc. If I can ever get H motivated and moving on this. Luckily my MIL is arriving earlier than we had planned, so worst case scenario her and I will do most everything. And be "her and I" I mean "mostly her, with me picking the colors and such".
We're going on a dinner cruise tonight with some friends of ours. It cruises all through the bay, and dinner is crab and baked chicken. It'd be more fun if I could drink, but eh. I'll live.
