It's a new week. I hope it's a good one for everybody.
I feel like a maternity shopping trip should be in my near future. I have some fall stuff from last time around, but not much of anything for summer. It seems like summer maternity wear is mostly casual and not always office appropriate. Maybe I just haven't looked hard enough.
Am I the only one who still doesn't have a real bump to need new clothes? 😔 I'm so jealous of you ladies!
I got off work just now so my plan is to SLEEEEP. and hopefully go for a long walk later this afternoon / evening. Im hoping DH goes grocery shopping bc I am so not in the mood...
addymac I don't really have a bump yet but my blump is making it to where maternity clothes are just so much more comfortable.
Target Cartwheel had 25% off jeans this weekend so I got a pair of Liz Lange Maternity jeans. I love them! Thinking about going back to get the lighter color this week.
Saturday night/Sunday morning I had a kidney stone so I got like zero sleep. DH and I both slept through our alarms this morning I guess we both needed to catch up on sleep that bad. Not exactly how I want to start off my week.

pivot, sorry to hear about the kidney stone. That sounds miserable!
I'm in the maternity-clothes-feel-like-a-nice-warm-hug-on-my-blump category. I missed these stretchy pants!
We survived DS' first night in the cast. I had to lay on the floor until he fell asleep and at 1:30 he woke up wailing in pain, so he ended up in our bed until 7, but I really was expecting worse. I'm also getting good use out of my stroller again, so glad I didn't sell it last week like I had planned to!
I'm also getting a lot of crochet done with all this Paw Patrol downtime.

Ugh. Sorry to hear about the kidney stone pivot. How awful.
I'm still mostly in the blump category. I broke out my maternity jeans about a week ago because I didn't see any point in not being comfortable. I'm wearing tops that are pretty forgiving/concealing. I was planning to wait until after my A/S on the 25th to announce at work, but I'm not sure I'll make it that far. Between starting this pregnancy 10lbs heavier than I was with DD and showing earlier, it may be pretty obvious soon.
I need to take my maternity pants to get hemmed. I have some other errands to run.
I've finished all of my major papers and projects for school. I have a few smaller things I still need to do in the next 2 days, but I'm already feeling much more relaxed. I slept until 8:30 this morning and I'm finally starting to feel more like myself.
I've had a blump that made regular pants uncomfortable since 6 weeks. I think now it's at least part real bump. I'm sure it's not obvious to others, but it definitely affects how my clothes fit. I've been living in dresses all summer.
I just got a pair of Liz Lange maternity jeans and I'm in love. My old jeans were too tight and uncomfortable, and these are perfect!
I just found out we're having a girl and I'm so thrilled! I can't wait to tell H tonight
Yay, congrats! How exciting!
This is where I'm jealous of those with earlier due dates. I can't wait to find out, but I won't know until the end of August! I'm convinced it's a girl, though.

Hey the end of August ain't bad! We're electing for an early ultrasound at 17 weeks to find out gender and even that isn't till Sept 10th! I have a countdown started.
Any second time moms felt any butterflies yet? I've read around 14 weeks some feel movement, but don't want to get my hopes up. I think my excitement and the realness of this pregnancy have yet to set in, but feeling a wiggle would definitely help!
For those of you wearing maternity clothes, how are you keeping them up?
sweetieheart32 I'm going shopping too, even though I just had my last babies less than 11 months ago. I found then that I didn't like full-panel anything (or anything pressing on my belly). I mostly work dresses and skirts, which was wonderful when I wasn't chasing a couple of kids. I need some under-the-belly pants.
addymac I have enough of a bump that I can't wear my normal cloths, but it's far too small to wear maternity clothes. But, y'know, two babies. I've been wearing a size or two up from my normal. It probably looks a bit messy, but I don't care because I'm comfortable.
nomnom, mine have elastics on the side, so they stay up no problem because they fit like normal and just stretch as needed. I won't be able to wear them later, but they were like $5 on ThredUp.
My 13yr old just got her first period and is looking so sad and miserable. 😞 She's got the technical stuff handled since we've had talks several times now, but I also gave her some tylenol and the heating pad so she can try and get comfortable. Poor kid. I didn't have to deal with that until 16.
We're supposed to go back-to-school shopping today. Might need to delay that a few days while she adjusts.
So, a question to you all: is there anything you'd wish you'd known that you didn't when you first got your period?

I cleaned and vacuumed all the carpet on the main level this morning for the first time since I got KU. H has done it a few times, but yikes, it was nasty. (Carpet includes the dining room with toddler messes). I'm now vegging and counting down until nap time. I have more cleaning I want/need to do, but I think I'm feeling contractions and that's my signal to slow down.
nomnom - My jeans are regular fit on the bottom and full panel, so they stay up easily. Plus, they're not as stretched out as my work-related attire. Thank God my regular work pants have always been a bit loose in the waistband - they still fit right now.

Funny that you ask, CoffeeOnIce! I had some flutters with J (my first) at about 13 weeks. I think I've felt a few random ones already with this one (definitely not gas bubbles). But I can tell my ute is higher earlier this go around, too.

ls2012 I wish I'd known that I could cycle between tylenol and ibuprofen to relieve pain. I only found that out a couple of years ago. It works *so* much better than either alone.

Epiphany right now then. Also tried to spell epiphany wrong..I'm learning so much!
Anyone else have terrible acne? I look like a 12 year old boy I was thinking of ordering this to help, but I'm honestly not sure what is safe and whats not during pregnancy. I have an appointment Monday and plan to ask then, but was curious to see what others experiences are.

+1 My cramps are extremely painful and either alone doesn't control the pain.
Going on birth control pills made them more much manageable and if that's what it takes, be open to it. Hopefully they're not that bad though!

Salicylic acid is not safe during pregnancy. As far as I know no acne meds are. I'm in the same boat

Yes!!! My face has been awful. I ordered two face masks to fight the acne, so far I really like them both.
The pumpkin one makes my face feel really smooth and fresh and the mud one is supposed to kill acne and purify your skin. I found both ingredient lists to be a-ok, but that's just my opinion. Bonus-pumpkin one is only $14 and you can use a coupon on it
pivot I can only suggest exfoliation and maybe antibacterial soap every now and then. I'm not sure if triclosan is considered safe during pregnancy, though.
notagoddess BCP gave me migraines, so they are a no-go in the future.
