I had to post because my Mil is pissing me off. I'm so sick of her little jabs about stuff, esp about the freakin flu vaccine. She is so anti any medicine/doctors which really irritates me. DH had to practically force her into getting the TDAP since she watches our daughter for us when I work. I understand not wanting to get the flu shot that's her choice. But I choose to get it and recently have been feeling a little under the weather and said to her I just hope I don't get the flu. She makes a little jab saying well you got the flu shot so you should be ok right (said very sarcastically). This woman is 63 years old and does not get mammograms or other routines exams you should get at this age she never goes to the doctor, maybe I should start jabbing at her about this. Anyway I just needed to vent...anyone else got anything?

vlagroupie UGH! My MIL makes ridiculous jabs too. She's so passive aggressive so I understand how frustrating that is. And guess what granny...if you want to watch your grandbaby and spend lots of time with her, you'll suck it up and quit whining about the damn vaccine. Seriously, WTF is wrong with people.
I don't have much today. Just really don't want to be at work. I'd rather be at home snuggling DD. She was super clingy yesterday and has a bit of a cough so I'm crossing my fingers it doesn't get worse.

vlagroupie I hate when people are passive aggressive like that.
I'm back to square one with dresses. The blue dress looked great from the front, but when I turned around I had a ton of extra material gathering at the small of my back. Why do I have to have such huge ass? I had plenty of room in the dress so I think going down a size would have fixed the issue, but the only sizes available now are L and XL..
I'm going to look at this dress after work, I'm not crazy about the piping and teal, depending on the hue, is a hit or miss on me.

ladytiffany24 oh no hope she is feeling better soon.
DD has had a runny nose since Sunday. Another mil passive aggressive comment, she was asking where we got sick, probably from being around my sick coworker last week. But how would I know anyway. I know she hates that I took DD to play date on Saturday. I highly doubt she got the runny nose that quickly and even if she did what can I do about it now! Kids are going to get sick, she wants to keep her locked in her depressing house with her all day and never go out to be around anyone else. There are days when I would just rather put DD in daycare part time rather than deal with MIL but I can't take that away from her. I know I shouldn't bitch about it because she is really helping us out but ughhhhh. Thanks again for listening ladies :-)

mrscatfarmer13 sucks about the dress. Do you have a tjmaxx or marshalls near by? I've found some really cute dresses at the marshalls by me. I usually go for a wrap dress style since I've got the bootie too and I find those to flattering on my body type. GL!

Any chance her runny nose is related to the weather changing 20-40 degrees all in a weekend?

mrscatfarmer13 I really like that dress! But the cut seems to be similar to the blue one if I remember correctly. Maybe order a size smaller and see if that does the trick. If not, I second checking out TJ Maxx or Marshall's. I always find cute, inexpensive dresses there.
vlagroupie Ewww. What does she expect you to do?!?! Stay holed up in the house 24/7 and never leave?!

mom2boxers my mom said this too so that is definitely a possibility. I've been wondering when she's going to get top teeth. She has been extra drooly too and whining more than usual even before the runny nose, so I suspected teething for a little while now.

ladytiffany24 MiL was be content being holed up in her depressing house with her grandbaby. She never goes anywhere and keeps the blinds closed all day I hate it. I have to get out or I'll go crazy.

At least my MIL opens the blinds so she knows when to run squirrels off. <-- For cereal, she puts out all these plants, bitches about the squirrels coming up then starts plotting ways to get rid of them.

We have a TJmaxx in Florence, but I can never find anything there. Maybe I can run up to Hyde Park sometime this week and check out the selection at that store. The dress I'm going to look at today is at JCP in a M and L so if I like it, at least I'll be able to see if the smaller size will work. This is why I hate shopping.

mrscatfarmer13 wow! Squirrels ha! I've found the tjmaxx in harpers point is pretty good I don't usually have much luck at the Hyde park one but who knows. The marshalls in Eastgate is usually pretty awesome. I haven't shopped the clothing selection lately but the baby section and housewares are the bomb.

vlagroupie-I totally feel for ya! That's gotta be so annoying with the MIL!
Poor DD woke up like 3x last night crying that awful, scared cry:( Not the fussy, hungry cry. It made me so sad and I just held her each time and she would fall back asleep, but it made me think she was having bad dreams. She's only 3months, but I can't imagine what else it is. Any one else have their LO do this?
@mrscatfarmer I usually find cute dresses at Francesca's or more $ at Dillard's. Sometimes they have good clearance racks but might be fancier than for a b party. Just go with the green dress! I liked that one!
So here's a random for you: My kid falls down a lot. It's because he loves to stand, but doesn't quite have the balance yet to stand up without holding on. So he pulls up, gets distracted, reaches for something, and crashes. It's usually no big deal, but a few times he's bumped his head at daycare and they had to fill out an incident report.
Today I got an email asking me to put shoes on him for his own protection. I'm not sure how they think this is going to help. It will probably make him fall more, actually.

jmebormann It could be anything from her wanting to just be close to you to the 4MW showing it's ugly face, and everything in between. I don't think babies have the ability to have nightmares that young, who knows. It sounds like you did a great job rolling with the punches though, kudos for you. -------------------------
I'm really liking the quick tags that were added to the desktop reply box, it makes tagging people so much easier.

When learning to walk, it's better for them not to have shoes and be able to use their toes for grip and balance. She should know this as a DCP.

My lo did have this and I think it was dreams. Who knows what the kid had to be scared of- maybe running out of milk? Not finding mommy in a dream? Who knows. I also read they can be overstimulated by play at that time. So to keep it calm, quiet, etc... Their toys and everything can be so loudly colored and noisy.

She's right, it's easier for LO's to learn to walk without shoes. I can't remember, do you use an in-home DCP or a center? I think I remember some people on my BMB saying that they're DCP center required shoes once their LO's started standing/walking. I would push the issue and find out why they are reuqesting shoes.

My LO is 9 weeks and she has had this twice. Screams bloody murder, I run to pick her up and she is totally knocked out in less than 3 minutes. Always happens about 30 minutes or so after I put her to bed... we the two times it happened.

Went power shopping at lunch today to find some black pants and a couple shirts that actually fit for a meeting that I have to attend. DH will have LO completely by himself for an extended period for the first time. Nervous but know it will be good for the two of them.

I had heard the opposite from family members... that having hard shoes on promotes developing a flat foot while learning how to walk. This is from the parents of a child who was born with a severely inward twisted foot because the cord was wrapped around it inside, perhaps that is the difference?
I've been doing research today. No shoes is definitely better for a variety if reasons. It's a daycare center. They do require shoes after he starts walking. Until then I think we can compromise with non-slip socks

Hi ladies! I've been a horrible Mod. I have been trying to read posts here and there, but time is just slipping away. The wedding was Sunday and it turned out great. I had a great time helping the bride / fulfilling my MOH duties, and my speech was awesome, if I say so myself. Yesterday DS was a little monster. There was no sleep had by him, me, or anyone else. Today we've been doing some outlet shopping, so I just now got a breather. I fly back on Friday and promise to be back in the swing of things by Monday.
