I grabbed some gripe water at cvs today. The instructions say 5 ml for a 2 month old. But the dropped only goes to 3. Which seems weird. And makes 5 seem like a lot. Anyone have any insights? Like it? Hate it? Better options?
We've had some major burping and spitups lately and trying to get some relief.
It won't hurt. I would try it. DD is in so much pain that gripe water does nothing-but I thought it was so helpful with DS would had occasionally tummy trouble or crying spurts. I did 5ML (and do now if I give it). It seems like a lot but it's really mostly water.

I've only ever had gripe water success with hiccups. To stop them. But the dropper stopping at 3 is pretty weird to me. You could use a teaspoon. Mine says that dosing for 1-6 months is 1 teaspoon or 5ml.
Though in writing that, I feel like 5ml would fill more than a standard teaspoon. It's hard to imagine anyway.

I give DS 2.5ml when he's fussy and it seems to help. He usually gives amazing burps so I think he's pretty good about getting it out himself but the gripe water seems to help on fussy days
I use it almost every time he gets hiccups. I usually just give him a mL or so and the hiccups are gone before I'm done giving it to him. I tend to only give him that small amount because he gets hiccups a lot!
Do your babies seem upset by hiccups? DD gets them all the time, but I haven't considered trying to do anything about it because she doesn't seem bothered by them. Can it lead to other tummy problems?

Mine doesn't. And it seems part of her cycle. She sleeps, wakes up and eats, plays and then gets the hiccups and gets sleepy and falls asleep.
So we did two gripe water doses today and had many hiccups and a big ole spit among many small. So the jury is still out.

This baby doesn't, and I only tried gripe water a few weeks ago because he seemed to have tummy pain/cramps frequently. It didn't do anything that I could tell. Now he gets a daily probiotic, which has definitely helped (days we've forgotten have been worse). I did use gripe water for DD's hiccups occasionally, because she had them all.the.time.

That hiccups are part of her routine makes me smile. I'm just picturing little baby hiccups followed by little baby sleepiness.
DD has a lot of hiccups, sometimes they bother her more than others but they can seem pretty intense at times. If someone isn't walking her around while she has them she usually gets upset. I haven't tried gripe water though I may try that. I remember trying gripe water with DS for tummy issues and it didn't really help anything.
When she seems to have exceptional gas we use gas drops, most often used before she is about to nap or sleep so gas doesn't disrupt her. They seem to work pretty well.
