In the last week I've noticed my left breast only pumps an ounce or less. It was always my under performer but now it's even less. I've increased my water intake and drink lactation tea. Any other tips? Should I have DS start on that side first every time he nurses? I'm wondering if this is why he's not sleeping great, that he's hungry.
my left always pumps half the amount as right. I do try to start on that side more often.
This is so interesting. My left also always pumps an ounce less than my right.

Try replacing the little white flappy membranes on your pump. Those can tear ir wear out and significantly impact output. Are you hydrated enough? Overly tired or stressed? Getting your period?
Hmm... well I did get my first PP period last week. Wonder if that impacted it some. I think I'm hydrated enough. This stuff is crazy!
I believe it was magnesium they recommended to help up supply after your period. I'd ask your doc.
I am having such a hard time again... more teething. My nipples are scabbed/bleeding and I have purplish bruising all around them. I literally cry out when she latches (so forceful!) and I dread each feeding.
I nursed DD1 until 18 months and I didn't even want to stop then. We had the best experience and I am wishing it would be the same this time around. My mantra is just "don't quit on a bad day" because I am trying to get through this rough patch.

Ugh, I'm having supply issues since being sick this weekend. My typical daily pumping is about 17 oz over 3 sessions. Then I nurse 3x a day. The past 2 days I've pumped 13oz and DD is pissed while nursing at night (which I'm taking to mean there is not enough). She won't hang out for long once she mashed whatever is there and then cries. It just breaks my heart that she might be hungry still. (She eats food 2x per day and STTN). What can I do to help increase things again? I know I'm drinking enough water. Do I need to add in a pumping session?
I've been able to make up for the missing ounces with my small freezer stash, but I'm going to run through that in like 2 weeks if I have to keep pulling bottles out.

My supply rebounded relatively quickly after being sick, so hopefully this will be a short-lived problem! I get Yogi Nursing Support tea which I think really helps. I also try to eat oatmeal and make sure not to skip pumping sessions. Good luck! ETA remylove1011
bocaburger, is that tea gross? I had one when I was BFing B a few years ago that was so disgusting.
It's not gross, but I wouldn't choose it for flavor alone. It's fine. I put some honey in to sweeten it.
I used to drink Mother's Milk tea with D1, and I remember the first time I had it I just thought it was awful. Then I drank it so much I came to love it and I would crave it long after I was done nursing.

How many oz of milk do your babies take at daycare now? R takes 12 oz (he is there from 8:30-5:30). We just started having him eat two little solid meals when he is there too.

DD takes 15-17oz depending on what I pump (basically somewhere between 5 and 5.5 oz per bottle). She eats one solids meal (2oz) in the morning and we do one solid meal at home.

He gets about 15 oz at daycare (3 bottles). Plus daycare gives two solids (morning and lunch) and we do solids at dinner.

16 - 18 oz
We only do solids at dinner time maybe 5x a week, though. She doesn't seem to be ready for more yet!
