Base care is fucking with my life. I had my kids set in self care which I get once a month while DH is away. One day where I can be alone, to do whatever I want. Now they're calling me saying there is a mix up. My pregnant ass needs sleep and a haircut. Don't mess with me right now. I am so livid.

I'm in the waiting room at the OB's office. There are at least 4 women ahead of me. I'm going to wait forever. I just want to know everything is OK and the suspense is killing me.

5th day of rain. Schools are closed here (yesterday was the first day). We could get as much as 10 inches over the weekend. So stuck inside for the foreseeable future. DS was up early again. I think the thunder and lightning messed him up. Here's hoping for an early nap and some time to watch the olympics (and for the power to not go out again).
musicallyinclined - Dang, that's a lot of rain! FX the power stays on.
AFM, work is slow and I'd love to skip out early. We're hosting a bunch of kids tomorrow for an overnight visit and my house is a wreck. Buuuut I'd also love to leave early and hit HomeGoods to check out new bed linens and curtains for our bedroom makeover! Priorities... hmmmm...

musicallyinclined, that is so nuts about the rain! I'm guessing flooding is a pretty big concern? Hope everything goes ok!
Good luck to anyone with appointments today!
I've been so MIA this week, sorry ladies. Add me to Team NO Sleep. But not just bad sleep, literally no sleep. It's been weeks and my brain is starting to shut down. Trying to stay positive though! Busy work day and weekend ahead for me. I just ate a s'mores pop tart though and it totally made my morning.
Coming back to the bumper after a hectic work week traveling. At the airport now waiting on my flight home! Woo-Hoo!!!
Slept in till 7but now still tired from driving and walking around at suppliers all week. Def need a weekend to relax but dumb me got tickets to the local John Deere Classic golf tourney tomorrow. If they went skybox seats(a/c and free food) is tell DH to go alone!

I've been having kind of a heavy week for many reasons. It's why I've been quiet on here.
But, to share on bit of the heaviness, a former colleague of mine was murdered on Sunday afternoon. Smart, beautiful girl a year younger than me (27). We went to the same college. Worked for the same company.
Went out for a run, was abducted, raped, killed, they burned her body, and dumped her on the side of a road 20 minutes from my home. I used to run before I was pregnant. Could've been me or anyone else I know.
I'm just kind of scared about what kind of world I'm bringing a baby into...

OMG @love2shop4shoes! So sorry for your loss. Hope they find the bastard quickly so he can be put in jail. Take time if you need it but also know we are always here if/when needed.

loves2shop4shoes, oh my gosh. There is no way to process news like that. Two years ago H's second cousin was murdered by an ex boyfriend. I still don't know how to think about it sometimes. Take care of yourself, okay?

loves2shop4shoes, that is beyond horrific. I believe I just read an article about her. Why is this happening so often? A girl near my parent's hometown was riding her bike and the same thing happened, not that long ago. I am so so sorry you are having to process this, how awful.
loves2shop4shoes I am so sorry for your loss. I am sure there are all kinds of different emotions going on right now. It is a scary world we live in now a days.

I'm very sorry for your loss. That case happened near me and it was so scary hearing about it.
And flight was just delayed and hour along with my connections cancelled. Today is gonna suck getting home. If I have to I'll rent a car and drive - 9 hrs in a car isn't that bad???
I have to have dinner with my in-laws tonight. It's supposed to be for my birthday (which is tomorrow). It's a pretty crappy "gift" to have to spend time with people when I really don't want to. I actually love my mil, but fil is a sleezy bastard.
