Hey guys! So I finally caught up and I'm sure my post count is looking fabulous. We met with mil for breakfast today. She contacted me yesterday because fil is out of town and she wanted to "break the ice". H went over there last night and talked to her. I don't know how everything proceed but we're inviting her to W's birthday. It's nice to kind of have a resolution to the shit storm fil created. W woke up early and took a shit nap. And has bit my nipple TWICE!! Hard. So it's going to be an interesting day.
Are there needles at the 1 year appointment? I completely forgot to schedule an appt, and when I called they had one open today. Hah - what kind of night will I have tonight?
RandomName, adding another PRO check. My FedEx guy tried delivering my wine but no one was home. He happened to drive past my house again about 15 minutes later & saw my mom pull into her driveway next door & delivered it to her. WIN!
redandblue Happy birthday to M! Can't wait to see pictures of the shirts.
tuscanlatte, Hurray for first steps! Sorry about your fall this morning. The good news is you didn't bust your head open, right? Abigail had her 12 month appt yesterday and got 2 shots plus a finger stick to test for lead and hemoglobin. They offered a flu shot as well but we decided to wait a bit on that one. Three sticks in one day is enough.
th3stryck3r, Happy belated birthday to Poppy! The cake is beautiful! Did you make it?
@mrspanpan, Sorry about the crappy sleep. Those CIO nights are the worst! Do you think he can't figure out how to sit back down yet when he stands in the crib? That may be part of the problem. I hope things are better tonight.
@janetheconquerer Unfortunately it wasn't sewn up by a plastic surgeon. I asked for one immediately upon arrival and was told that they don't have one routinely on call at that hospital and no outside plastic surgeon would come in on Sunday night. They told me I could try going to one of the teaching hospitals in town where I might be able to get a plastic surgery resident to do it. But it's August. Residents start their rotations in July, which means it would be a resident who was fairly inexperienced, plus driving to another hospital and waiting all night to be seen. I debated a lot and finally decided to just stay where I was and get my head put back together. The ER doctor did call and speak to a plastic surgeon for advice, but that probably didn't help a whole lot. I just hope this guy did a decent job. I don't scar well, so I'm pretty bummed about all of this.
aydee yay for weight gain!!! Are you guys super tall?
I'm 5'5'' and DH is 5'8". I do have fairly long legs for my body and I think Abigail and DD1 are the same way. There's no way Abigail is going to stay in the 90th-95th percentile for height. DD1 followed the same pattern as an infant, and was in the 90th percentile until 18 months when she went down to 75th. She was at 65th percentile for height at 2 years, and at 50th percentile at 3 years. I expect Abigail will be the same, so it's kind of funny to see her topping the charts right now. The girl is currently a string bean.
packmomma, Sorry about the crappy sleep and the biting. I'm glad that MIL reached out though. I hope you guys are able to mend that relationship in a way that you feel comfortable with.
aydee, sorry about that. But seriously use the vitamin e capsules religiously! And wear a hat to keep scar out of sun. I think it took a good year for mine to start to blend in.
The dude sitting across from me on the subway is wearing sunglasses. Creeps me out. Maybe he has an eye issue or anxiety or something, which means I should not judge,

I got the dreaded day care call. They said DS2 had a rash. I mean, I sort of see what they are calling a rash but I'm not convinced it's just not his skin tone being a little blotchy. Doctor's appointment this afternoon just to be safe.

gingerygirl, I am impressed by anyone who can do a step class. I am definitely not coordinated enough for that. Exercise AND following choreography?! More than my brain can handle.
I am definitely relieved that mil reached out and that she understands our position on fil not being involved but that she doesn't agree with his assessment of me and still wants to be a part of our lives. My neighbor is playing with W right now because I needed a break. Very appreciated!

Hahaha I tried a step class once and looked like a complete fool. That shit is so hard!!
@mrspanpan I know certain meds make me restless. Poor Jojo
packmomma my moms club is through the community but it's an international organization with chapter all over so you could see if there is an active one near you. Google moms club international. It's really great. They gave weekly activities, playgroups that are age appropriate. They also plan moms night in/out events only for moms.

I feel like a rockstar today. This morning i cleaned my hardwoods, then I ran to the store quick for one item i forgot yesterday, then we went to the local community center for playtime. home for lunch then the boys napped and i cleaned the bathrooms. Now i'm chilling until the kids wake up.
aydee So glad you are ok. I hope you get some R&R!
I SO wish there was Mommy groups going-on's after work so I could participate in. It really chaps my ass that nothing is offered for Mothers with kids who work. FFTC?
abvintagetuscanlatte I was having the same thought. I understand having them for SAHMsb but working moms could use them as well. Especially moms night out!
