13liza DS cracked his front two teeth about a year ago on a windowsill. They both chipped slightly. He screamed bloody murder for about a minute then acted fine. I called the pediatric dentist and they told me to watch for any discoloring on the teeth or gums or if he seemed like he was in pain or the teeth were loose. He bled a little and we couldn't figure out where it was coming from, either. Maybe call a dentist and see what they say?
I asked about that and the morning crew told me they would change him as long as he had clothes to change into. If it was the policy, I'd get it but that's not what they said!
We were originally told that wasn't the policy at our school either- so we picked her up confusedly a few times with one on, and then we got the director to explain. What you said just sounds so similar to what experienced. Is the morning crew not communicating with the afternoon crew?
I think that's exactly what the problem is; though I just got an email from the owner saying they are still on summer schedule with lots of subs and apparently had asked my H to wait on bringing him in sans diaper until next week when they are back to school schedule with all their full time folks. So, that also explains why everything seemed so chaotic. The DC is closed tomorrow and Friday for them to do a lot of planning for the school year (they do infant-kindergarten) so I'm hoping that four more days at home will help him get more used to going on the potty too. (and remembering to tell someone!)
beaglemom2011, yes I was really worried it was just confusing him about where he should go! And he is so stubborn that he will NOT go when asked. I was thinking at daycare it's been totally behavioral. Like he doesn't want to go because they keep asking him to go. We've had a few tearful times on the potty because we're about to either go somewhere or take a nap or go to bed and I want him to pee first and he does not want to go! Like stubbornly refusing because it's a directive from me (or his teacher) rather than his own choice. sigh. He has no problem telling me five minutes later that he has to pee though.

Thanks! I just heard back from the pedi and he said that as long as the bleeding stopped it should be fine. I'll definitely check again to see if any teeth are chipped- they were fine yesterday. Pedi said it probably bled today because it was still sore from yesterday.
No teeth here. He has quite a large lump on his lower gums and I can actually feel the teeth but it doesn't seem like they are making any effort to pop through. I am just assuming he will get them all really quickly and life will be hell for a while.
Quoting myself to amend my answer expatmama11. I stuck my finger in M's mouth at lunch today and felt the sharp edges and top so the tooth has definitely come through, it just needs to come up now. He won't let me look in his mouth but I can feel it.
I can never get a good look at Cam's either, but have been feeling and there is nothing. I think Cam must be the oldest baby with no teeth.
I suspect he will get several at one time which I'm terrified about.
gdaisy09 I can't believe the lady just took off like that. So rude.
expatmama11 Have fun in CO! We almost got married in Breckenridge. It was our second choice. Gorgeous.
COCO I have ongoing arguments with DS about Legos. He wants me to play with him but only if I build exactly what he wants me to. Which is either a tower of the smallest blocks as high as possible or lining up the doors and windows. If I try to build anything myself he gets mad and puts all the Legos away. Gee that's fun for me DS!
Thanks. I've never been but H enjoyed it as a child. We actually just bought property there his dad was selling so will be cool to check it out.

Maybe here but not generally, for sure. In another mom group I am in, someone JUST posted about this the other day. There were a ton of moms who said their babies didn't get teeth until 10 months, 11 months, and even a year. Our pediatrician said it is totally normal for some kids not to get teeth until a year, and some can go until 15 months. She reassured me (clearly a nervous mom about it at his 9 month appointment) that the only thing the front teeth are really good for anyway is tearing food and I was already doing that so it was fine

Things were busy around here today! I have nothing interesting to add except R is dancing! Every time he hears music or makes it play on his toys he swings his head around and bounces. It's so adorable. I need to get a video. There's been lots of new things with this wonder week!

Yeah, I know it's pretty normal as the pedi assured me of the same thing. Just seems like everyone in here closer to age has teeth already.
My dental hygienist told me the other day her daughter didn't get teeth until she was 18 months! They finally had to take her to be X-rayed bc they started to get very concerned.
There is a tiny blood blister like spot on the gums above each of the two front teeth. I'm going to keep an eye on it and call the dentist tomorrow if necessary. Teeth come with their own weird problems.
I need ideas on how to fatten her up. Today i found out she fell off the growth chart. Dr's only suggestions were rice cereal, juice, and that my boobs are broken. Help?
Have you done peanut butter? Bananas are also calorie dense; LO loves peanut butter and banana mixed in baby oatmeal with some breast milk. What kinds of solids are you doing?
Have they offered you a nutrition consult? Supplementing breast milk?

I'm sorry you didn't get good news today. Hugs. How is she doing with solids? Maybe more spoon feeding vs letting her feed herself? What about trying more proteins- either purées or whole foods? Sorry, I don't really have much advice.
@tifga and I hear ya with the picky eating. Keep offering and hopefully she'll come back around! It seems like she might have a preference for something soft and smooth while teething. What about harder textures (like a raw carrot stick) or something frozen to try?

What little tolerance she had for solids went out the window when she started teething. She still like yogurt and avocado but anything new she takes 1 bite and refuses the rest.
That's tough! I can't remember if your LO is an older or younger D15. LO is older (DOB 11/26), she really just started getting the hang of solids the last few weeks. We do mostly purees, I feed her rather than letting her feed herself. Outside purees I have discovered she Loves zucchini bread, byjove's post made me think banana bread. Following the zucchini bread discovery I started adding cinnamon to some of her purees and she went crazy (applesauce, pumpkin...mixed with some oatmeal).
@tifga we've been told to keep offering different flavors and textures and to encourage non-nutritive food chewing (like a Carrot stick). M seems to prefer feeding herself. We see the OT in a week and a half, I'll pass along anything we find helpful. Margs refused all solids for the better part of a month, but is slowly coming along. She is really digging ground turkey of all things.
Thanks for the handouts! We've tried solid solids a couple times but her already unhappy reaction has just unhappier. I'll try the carrot thing tomorrow if nothing else maybe it will make her mouth feel better.
Keep in mind it can take something like 10 tries before they like something. So try not to get discouraged and keep offering things.
+1 we've done carrots unsuccessfully for a while (one bite and she'd make a face and turn her nose up) today she ate a whole bowl of zucchini and carrot
